Hi everyone. I smoked for just about 15 years (a pack-ish a day) and decided to switch to e-cigs early January.. Bought a blu-cigs kit from a local walgreens but that wasn't enough after a few weeks... Went though some ego's and now slowly moving to VV/VW mods (Got an evic two weeks ago, loving it). My parents are visiting and I managed to make my mother follow me on this vaping journey - she hasn't smoked a single analog in a week now (Used to smoke 2 / 2.5 packs a day for 40 years!)

Both of us have found HUGE improvements in our sense of smell and taste... Hell - I'm finding out I like some foods I never enjoyed before! Been lurking these forums for a while now so I decided it might be time to join finally, so here I am.

Looking forward to meeting new people with common interests!

Ben

Congrats on making the switch, I just made my first order and am pretty anxious to get to where you are now. I am glad to hear that I can look forward to my sense of smell and taste changing. Well, and having a bit more wind would be nice too. I've been smoking for 22 years now, have you made the complete switch; as in totally smoke free?

Gemini, I've been completely smoke free since day 3 (January 6th).. I bought the blu to smoke less and after three days decided to just completely quit. I live in a third floor apartment and going up the stairs is so much easier now than it was before!

Apoxing, my father used to smoke but he quit some 20 odd years ago.

I really thought that switching to vaping wouldn't work for me as I had tried many other ways to quit (Patch, gum, cold turkey...) and never succeeded for more than a week, but it has been a LOT easier than I thought. I started at 24mg and I'm now down to 16/18 depending on what vendor I order from.

The other thing I noticed changed: when I smoked, I only smoked regular cigs (no menthol, no flavors). When I started vaping I tried to stick to tobacco flavors - after a few weeks I was trying all kinds of flavors and now I don't even enjoy tobacco flavors (So I gave them to my mother)

Welcome, and Congrats..... You are now on the wonderful journey called Vapeing. Enjoy the ride.

When reading stories like this you realize what ecigs really do... and how governments (and people talking like ignorants) are stupid and crooked.
Here in Italy we had the government try plenty of times to ban ecigs, and now Europe law is going to do that too...
I have no comment

So hi, I recently got an e-cig so I can be on my way to REALLY kicking the habit. I just want to know, I've had dark gums since I've been smoking like a chimney for almost 20 years now, will using e-cigs have the same effect? Or will my gums gradually turn a lighter shade if I keep brushing and just stick to vaping?

Also, my mouth tends to get dry now due to vaping, any suggestions for that?

Thanks a bunch :)

Ive only been vaping for 2 months, and unfortunately I find myself picking up analogs here and there. But the frequency is diminishing. I may get through this weekend with only smoking 10 which is a big step down from the 1.5 pack a day.
The neat thing I've discovered is that when I get the urge to pick up an analog, I hop onto this site and read a few posts from the the new members forum, and amazingly the stories of ppl quitting analogs and how much support is given to those quitting helps me put the analog back down. An interesting side effect from researching. So thank you to all the members on this forum. Your stories are helping me to put down the analogs for good.

If I can quit after 2 PAD for 30 yrs so can you. Once I got off my lazy .... and went into the local B&M I knew I had found what would finally make me quit. I drove by it every day for at least 3 months telling myself I would stop in and check it out. I had my last smoke right before I walked in the door. I won't say the first few weeks were always easy but I just vaped through the cravings. You can do this but you have to be determined and make up your mind that you're not going to pick up another. Good luck quitting.
