I've been trying to quit smoking forever...actually, I have quit. I've probably quit 30 times in the last 20 years, but that wasn't the hard part; the hard part was staying "quit"!!
I quit for the last time about 3 days before my first e-cig. I am allergic to the patches but I was determined to wear them anyway. After three days and three ugly red patches of blisters, I got online and found Vaporgalaxy! OMG, what a world opened up to me. I bought my first ecig at a tobacco store just to hold me over, but when my 510 came my world changed. I have been vaping like a maniac ever since. Being as compulsive as I am, I bought the ego 2 days later and now I am totally obsessed with juices and batteries and accesories, but not with cigarettes!
I just keep thinking if we had only had this option all those years ago, how many of us would still be alive? I have no desire to quit vaping, I love it; I just had to get off the analogs...I wouldn't even think about it now, the flavors and the vapor are so much better!!

Welcome, Maggie! It's so good to hear stories like yours. I've kind of wondered the same thing myself; where was this even 10 years ago? Vaping has made it so easy for us to quit and it's not only cheaper, it saves lives! I'm glad you're here and I really think you'll like the forum. There are lots of friendly, helpful, supportive folks here!

Congrats on being over 30 days analog free!

Happy Vaping!

I've been buying stuff like crazy myself, but now that I have a ton of juice I think I'm set for a good while. I can just settle in to vaping and let my eGo pay for itself. It is like being a kid in a candy store! So many flavors to choose from! I can't even begin to tell you how many I have right now! I got two orders from two different vendors yesterday and I've been vaping my head off!

Rhapsodies Fire, I love your avatars!

Welcome to the forum - 10 years ago the battery technology just was not available. The devices would have been very large and battery life would have been short. I give thanks to the Lithium gods every day!

Hold on, I'm getting an idea for a mod...

The almost OCD perusing I've been doing is still due to the fact that I still do not 100% trust batts, but got some button protectors for the eGo, maybe one day I'll leave my pack of cigs at home.

Actually, they did have e-cigs 20 years ago. In fact, I think it was around 1985 that I saw a disposable electronic cigarette for sale in a convience store. It looked just like a regular filter cigarette. I had to try it. I believe it cost the same as a pack of cigarettes, which I can't remember exactly how much that was back then, probably around $1.25. Anyway, the advertising bragged that there was absolutely no visible smoke produced by this device, but claimed you would inhale the nicotine and it would replace a pack of cigs.

Well, they were half truthful. There was absolutely no visible smoke or vapor. I think it lasted me the equivalent of maybe 5 cigarettes before it pooped out. Of course there was no way of telling, lol. It didn't have any throat hit or vapor to judge it by.

Needles to hay, they didn't last very long on the market.

Welcome, Maggie! Who would have ever thought that after 36 years of smoking menthol, something as simple as this invention would have me vaping cinnamon, and the chocolate cheesecake flavor just makes Marlboro seem so 20th century! This forum is full of awesome people, I am so glad I found it, and I'm glad you did too!

I'm been kicking myself for not looking further into e-cigs when I first heard something about them two or three years ago. Don't remember a lot about the news report I heard at the time but it did make them sound like a passing fad that could be dangerous so it just didn't catch my interest at the time. I've never seen another person using one. Now mine gets quite a bit of attention and most people ask ME if it is "One of those electronic smoking things?" They have lots of questons which I try to answer honestly. They are simply amazed when they watch me vape and see the vapor and and don't smell "smoke" but sometimes catch a tiny smell of fresh fruit.

Now if I could just curb this new constant shopping habit ! That reminds me, I need to go place a couple of juice orders ! :)
