bees and there knees!

So why do people use the expression "bees knees"? Lol

Because according to the pic below I am not quite sure bees even have knees!!

Yes this is a serious anatomy problem I am dealing with

And even if bees have said "knees" why are they so special?

Should I ask a bee about his knees?
Should I replace my own knees with bees knees?
Should I dip a bees knee in ranch to see if it tastes good?
Would santa clause have a good perspective on this?
