So one month into vaping, I decided to fast forward to where I know I will end up anyway - RBAs. I LIKE it! But I have some questions. I will begin with two. But first,

I'm using an AGA-S. So far I'm using a SS mesh, I think a 28g kanthal wrapped 4/5. I'm getting 1.7 - 1.8 Ohms and I'm firing it with an iTaste MVP. (I have that SVD on the way too which you guys helped me decide on - thanks again!)

Now my questions:
1) Would it be useful to wrap my SS wick around a cotton or silica wick of some size to aid in drawing my juice upward? There has to be a better way than tilting it all the time.

2) In the first 36 hours the volume of vape I'm getting from it seems to be diminishing and I am giving it an extra .1 volt every few hours. What's up with this? At first I get big clouds of wonderful flavor and now I am getting mediocre of both.

The "Genesis tilt" is part of the expected ritual of using a Genny-style RBA. With a nice wick, you won't have to tilt it every time you take a vape, though.

Have you checked the resistance of the coil since you first created it? Home-made coils, or any coil for that matter, have been known to change resistance due to many factors.

There are many ways to improve ss mesh wicking, and one that I often use is the " Snake Tongue" method (don't know if Ninja invented it but he's the first one I saw do this). There is a video out there where PBusardo talks with ninja about Genesis atomizers and this is featured in the video, although I can’t seem to find it.

After rolling your wick, take some scissors and split the wick in two on about ¼ inch on the section that will go into the tank (slip it so it creates a snake tongue kind of cut in the wick) … This can make it a little more painful for you to put the wick down the tank, but will improve wicking.

My personal way of improving wicking (although this takes more time) is instead of rolling a single wick I roll 3 tiny wicks and I twist them together so it ends up looking like a 3 strand “mesh rope”. I described this method here. I personally love it… Sorry about the picture quality, I was unfamiliar with the forum picture upload at the time.

I might not be the inventor of this method so I am not taking any credit, but I figured it out on my own.
