I am new to mods, but my plan is to buy a Vamo v3, and a few protanks from fasttech, and then the batteries (ultrafire 18650) from eBay. Was wondering if these were good choices. The only reason I'm buying from fasttech is because my budget is very low.

Good idea on products, not so good with Fasttech. All shipping from Hong Kong (for batteries at least) are being inspected. Some are even being returned to Fasttech, and they have to refund the money..... Not sure how long its going to take. My shipment is still sitting in Hong Kong since the 9th of this month. sorry
:)

Here is one protank I found on ebay

In theory, a Vamo should get here from FastTech - ALL packages are slowed down by the new "scan all the boxes" rule - but the are only sending back JUICE and BATTERIES.

The Vamo is a good choice.
The ProTank is a good choice (make sure it's a KANGER ProTank - FastTech ALSO sells a clone, but it doesn't say Kanger on that one).

But I do NOT recommend getting batteries from Ebay - that's not where you want to save money.
Because if a battery is cheap, it very well could be a factory reject that's not safe...

I'd suggest you get batteries from RTDVapor, and get the IW AMR.

Good Vaping to ya!!

That tank alone would take a quarter of my budget lol. I would only be ordering the tanks and the mod from fasttech, so i shouldnt have any problems, right? Since theyre only looking for batteries and juice.

You'd be better off ordering one fewer Protank and investing in some good batteries. As Train said, that's not a piece of equipment that you want to skimp on.

Try to look at the Supplier Forum and look for a local supplier close to you. See if they offer pick up. I got mine from a local supplier and saved me a lot from shipping.

I was also hesitant to order from Fasttech coz of the comments of other members from here about shipping and customs issues.

Amazon.com also sells batteries and some comes with charger. I just make sure to spend $25+ to get the 2-day free shipping since I'm a Prime member.

There's a lot of choices ordering online! But if you think of shipping cost, duration of shipping and authenticity of the product, I would strongly suggest to look for a local supplier.

Well, if you are willing to wait for it. Like I said, my package has been sitting in Hong Kong since the 9th. I ordered some tanks and a iTaste VW V3.0 7-in-1 Variable Voltage Rechargeable 800mAh Electronic Cigarettes Set , so its up to you

:)

I would love to Wait, but theres no telling when i'll find another job. (i live in a very rural area). And the closest shop to me is about 3 hours away. The tanks from fasttech are like 5$ a piece, so that wouldnt help in saving for batteries. I guess i was just mainly wondering if im going to have any problems with fasttech, since im not ordering batteries or juice through them. (not trying to sound like a douche lol)

A lot of people are happy with their Vamos; I suggest you get a stainless steel one if you can afford it--they are much sturdier.

Make sure that the ProTank you're buying is Kanger, preferably Version 2, and don't forget extra coils. Get a good charger--I got my Nitecore I2 from Fasttech and it works great--make sure you get the American plug.

As for batteries, I use AW IMR batteries, Efest are also good. Fasttech sells the newer Panasonic hybrids, but I haven't used them. I buy my batteries from RTD Vapor. I wouldn't use a cheap non-brand or a Trustfire battery myself.

Here's more about batteries for mods:

Good luck and consider what other posters mentioned above--Fasttech is experiencing big problems with customs ATM. YOu may have to wait a long time--or you package may be returned to the sender.

Fasttech is fine if your willing to be patient, I ordered a 5 pack of Evods and a 5 pack of replacement heads on the 5th of this month, they shipped out on the 6th and are still sitting in Hong Kong according to the USPS tracker, no batteries or juice in the order, it's been 12 days and the package still hasn't left the country.... good thing I bought these just because, and not that I really needed them.

Batteries for mods are the most important investment you will make for your setup. They are not the item to skimp on.

Batteries are not created equal. There are those that are safe to use in mods, and there are those that are not. The link that Katya posted explains this clearly. The following batteries are the only batteries that you should use in a mod requiring 18650 batteries:

AW IMR
18650 2000mah 10A
18650 1600mah 24A

Panasonic or Orbtronic hybrid
CGR18650CH (IMR-Li Ion hybrid) 2250mAh 10A
NCR18650PD (high drain-high capacity) 2900mAh 10A
NCR18650B (high drain-high capacity) 3400mAh 10A

Samsung hybrid (LiNiCoMnP)
INR18650-20R 2000mah 20A

MNKE IMR
IMR18650 1500mah 20A

Sony IMR
us18650v3 IMR 2250mAh 10A

EFEST IMR
18650 2000mah 10A

You will also need a quality battery charger. Name brands like Xtar and Nitecore are recommended.

If you can not afford the above, perhaps you can't afford to use a mod. Perhaps consider a different e-cig setup. I totally understand being on a limited budget, believe me, but don't jeopardize your safety using inferior batteries.
