beginner / intermediate setups for vaping

I just got myself an Ego-C. Wasn't too impressed with the flavour of the vapes. I'm looking for suggestions and info about the variable voltage setups. I've heard dual coil is the way to go with variable voltage so you can adjust till you tweak it to your liking. size of vaporizer doesn't matter to me. I'm more of a function over form individual. I'd rather get the best than waste money on cheap things that look pretty..

I do not agree that the dual coil cartos will provide a better vape experience, but it IS a personal preference of some vapors. I much prefer the single coils as I found dual coils to make harsher vapor, but then I prefer a cooler vape experience. I suggest trying both with the same ohm rating to compare to see which YOU prefer. Dual coils will definitely drain your battery faster.

i started with eGo C. After 1 month i upgraded to Joyetech eGo Twist 650mah. now i am using Provari mini. I still have my eGo Twist as second PV. It's the best beginner VV PV. work well with cartomizer tank.

Hi Shasta. Welcome to the ECF. Sooo...... If you want the most capable mod and price is a minimal factor, I would say take a look at two devices. First would be the Sigelei Zmax v2.... Can be had reasonably inexpensive and has high amp limit in order to run the dual coil cartos you where specifically asking about. This option gets you on the playing field with a good mod that will run just about everything you can screw into it...... It most certainly wont be quite as nice a unit as option 2 but a huge step forward from your current PV.... Option 2 would be to look at the Provari. This is the standard bearer for quality built PVs to be measured against. As far as I know the amp limit is not quite as high as the Zmax but still one of, if not the nicest production model unit that you can put in your hand. To go this far is quite a large jump to a new Vaper. You may be just fine upgrading to a Vivi Nova tank, or a T3 clearomizer...... While changing your liquid to something more suited to your tastes. This is the direction I would advise you approach first, before just jumping right into the deep end of the pool......

The eGo-c is a rather notorious feed system with poor performance, lack of flavor, leaking, and other general Blah-ness.... Functional for the most part but otherwise unacceptable performance on the whole. Like I stated before, look into something better to put on your current PV, you might just find what you have been missing without having to go too far to get it. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Hi and welcome! The thing about dual coil, is just that - DUAL coil - 2 of them. Think in terms of running 2 cartomizers at the same time. Even with low resistance dual coils, the Twist doesn't have enough power to get the full effect. Just my

Agreed completely. The twist can run the wheels off a single coil cartomizer. But for a dual coil you need much better amperage output as well as much more reserve amperage to run them anywhere near where they should be run.

Wow, pretty technical. Um, I like my VMod, highly recommended to me by two friends that I trust. So far so good. Only slipped a couple of times since Xmas. But then I'm very new to all this and am very much enjoying reading about what everyone else likes.

The big problem is:
It's all about your personal taste. I haven't been vaping to long but have quickly determined I have a love for the mechanical PVs. I have also moved on to rebuild able tank systems. At the same time a buddy of mine that started at the same time likes his VV/VW devices and loves the vivi systems (though I recently convinced him to buy a Terminator ).
Find what you like and run with it. But don't be afraid to try new things. Use the forums as a guide but not written law(unless its a safety issue

price:functionality, a Vamo is a pretty solid VV/VW tube mod. If $ is no object the Provari is Amazing (most consistent vaping experience I've found). Both will handle anything you throw at them except ultra LR Gennie setups (meaning less tan 1.0ohm) because of switch amperage limitations (100% mech mod for those).

so many answers and so much to consider. I recently got in a few new toys to try out. I'm currently working out of town so I'm itching to get home and try them out. single or dual coil doesn't matter to me (yet) as I haven't tried the dual yet. just the ego-c setup which i haven't been too impressed with . too much leaking and lack of flavour. I did get a few bigger tanks .. we'll see how they go next tuesday when i get home

Hi again Shasta. Out of the three clearos you have mentioned I have tried only one, the t2. It vapes pretty nice at fixed voltage at about 3.7v.... up to about 4.5v where it begins to run out of wick to feed the coil if you chain vape it. Plus side is you can vape it pretty much upside down without fear of getting liquid in your mouth, about as leak free as I have ever used anyway. I purchased two t2 units and five replacement heads(high ohms) I think 2.5ohms, have never popped a coil yet, even up at 6.5volts but that is way too hot to vape for me, was doing abuse testing while dry burning my first head. I have used all but one head , eventually the wick wears out right at the coil and gets pretty much unuseable without massive amounts of tipping to wet outer edges approaching the coil.On a side note the t2 cartos are one of the most robust clearos I have ever used. I am that guy who walks around with his mod in his pocket, and in my line of work I do alot of crouching/standing etc. I have broken almost everything clearo related aside from the t2s and a couple Vivi Novas. I even broke my very first Vivi(v2) and had to get the metal tank replacement tube.

I have heard good things about the e1-v and the e2 but have never had them on my own PV, so i have no real input to give there. Let us know how you like them once you have put them through their paces.

Based on my experience and my friends, eGo C Twist is the basic and starting for VV as it cheap and not complicated. Unless you have a bigger budget to jump into the more expensive VV. The ultimate VV for me is Provari. My view...

When I was looking for a simple VV, I looked at the twist, but the 4.8V max setting, as well a .2V increments was a bit of a turnoff... Additionally, not being able to tell exactly what voltage you're set at wasn't something I liked.

I ended up getting one of these:

SLB eGo-V True VV Pass Through eGo 3.0-6.0v LCD Screen - Black

Hoosier has a similar model available, I think the one from Hoosier might even be a couple bucks cheaper. Anyway, it's a 3-6V VV eGo style battery with an LCD display so you can actually see what you're set at... for ~$25 they sell at a pretty good price point too... It's no ProVari to be sure, wasn't meant to be... But it's a great step into the world of VV mods, IMO...

If you're looking for a nice APV with VV/VW that won't break the bank, the VAMO is definitely worth a look.

I feel your frustration regarding the eGo-C & the lack of 'flavor' going on there

I'll give you the same recommendation I give everybody, because this is what worked for me...I'm a former 510 system user. (Well, I'm a former every vaping system available user....

My vaping tastes have evolved radically over the past few years but I've found the "GO-GO" Starter Kit a good bet for the following reasons;

IF you're SICK of messin' with inconsistent Atomizers and all the of tasteless 510 & eGo vapors, then this system WILL please you.

* Cost - $59.95 for complete two eCig starter kit with (five) pre-filled Cartos or (three) pre-filled Go-Tanks: GO-GO KIT

* Batteries last up to two days between charges (depending upon how heavily you vape)

* Go-Carts - (Go-Carts hold 3ml of Nic Juice & Go-Tanks can hold up to 2 ml. (I vape all day on 2-3 ml) - The Carts are really no muss, no fuss but once you've acclimated to vaping you should really switch to the Go-Tanks (GO GO PREMIUM TANKS) as the vapor, flavor and throat hit are unparalleled. I really do insist that in time you do this

Be sure to order the PRE-FILLED Go-Carts when you re-order. (Five pre-filled Cartos will come with your Kit but you'll need to specify the flavor and strength.
