Hey guys, ive just recieved my disposable SS Choice no.7 in the mail. I got a disposable simply so i could trial it and see if this is for me.

I have a few questions before I actually start using it though. Does the atomizer on the ss choice no.7 have a "break-in" period like ive heard about the joy? or will i be good to go first puff?

also, when not using the e-cigarette, is it ok for me to repackage it into the packet for ease of carrying, then just re-assemble when its time to use it?

thanks for your help.

THEgDolla I'm not sure what the No.7 is (model wise), but different models give different hits. I have found that a lot of the 'named' ecigs are of the 401 variety. For me, the 401 has zero throat hit. (others will disagree I'm sure). And like I said, It's a total guess that your model is 40x. (so everybody doesn't need to attack saying it's not )

What nic level did your kit come with? Besides the model you are using, the nic level is probably the next biggest factor in TH. I use a 510 atty, and with the right 24-36mg liquid, the throat hit is way bigger than I get from a cig.

Give some more details about what you have and we can probably help you improve your performance a little.

ok so i just had my first try with it, and it didnt feel like there was much vapour, and i didnt feel that hit at the back of my throat... is this just the brand? or how it is at first?

help?

I don't have that particular model of disposable but I have two others. One is a 401 which has little vapor, no throat hit and fairly good flavor. The other is a disposable 510 auto batt from madvapes. It says good for at least 3 recharges and I'm on my 23rd charge of it - others have gone 30+. I think it's just a regular auto batt, but don't know for sure. And it acts like a regular 510 - great vapor, good thoat hit and good flavor on the tobacco flavors - in this case marlboro. The only real 'break in' for the 510 or any atomizer is blowing out the primer fluid and dripping a few drops on the atomizer. After cleaning at atomizer there is sometimes a need to huff it a bit to get it going.

I'm guessing you have an automatic battery, which means you do not have a button to push, and the battery is activated by the act of inhaling.

If you have automatic batteries it will probably take some practice to get it working good.

Stand in front of a mirror and watch the LED as you take drags.
You want to see how hard you need to draw on it to get that LED lit.
And you want to see how hard you need to draw on it to keep it lit as long as possible.

For some automatic batteries your only choice is to do consecutive short drags.
And it is often said that a quick short initial draw (primer puff) followed by a real drag will work well.

Most people recommend slower, longer draws.
I recommend getting a manual battery.

@DC2 thanks, the primer puff tip seems to work somewhat...what is the difference between auto batteries and manual batteries? as in, i know the manuals have a button, but how much does it change the experience? and how steep is the learning curve?

I am only just starting out obviously and do not know much, i got the disposable to decide wether the whole "vaping" thing was for me. and i do like it, it tastes and smells much better, its just trying to find the right combination of things.

Does anyone know any other sites that will ship to australia?

Not DC2 but I'll refer you to a post of mine in his thread. Read this:

Well the battery life of units is one of the main driving forces in why mods are/have been created. Disposable e-cigs are not the way to go. Being in Australia, I know you are at a disadvantage, but what I would suggest is a starter kit with a manual battery that is rechargeable. The site you mentioned does have some kits available, but they are over priced imo. Do some more research and see if some of the other sites will ship to you. I really hope you find something that works with you, personal vaporizers are the way to go and I don't want this bad experience to deter you.

How long did you expect the battery to last?

in emails they told me it would last the equivalent of 2 packets of cigarettes, so i was expecting a good 3-4 days out of it thinking after that i'd throw it away and know wether or not i wanted to upgrade to a starter kit.

it cost me in excess of $50AUD to get it here...i didnt want to pay for a starter kit up front if it wasnt going to be for me. because including the shipping and whatnot they are so expensive. The only one I could get locally is a 2 peice, and they are 90 for the starter kit aswell...

I haven't used a cartomizer model (two-piece) enough to say how long they should last, but I can assure you that a claim of two packs of cigarettes is just flat out wrong. My guess based on how much juice they can hold is probably somewhere around 10-15 cigarettes worth.

Of course, if you've spent much time around here reading up and learning, then you probably already know that you really should be buying your own juice to refill those cartomizers, because that is going to cost you a LOT less money, and give you full control over what nicotine juice you use.

I would say from my experience that 10-15 would be about right on a full carto..

The most I've gotten is a bit over 3 hours medium to heavy vaping. The average is 2 hrs. and some are 1/2 hour to an hour. Much depends on the flavor. Certain flavors do well, others not so well and it seems to be consistent within the flavor rather than anything else. My best shot at longevity is filling my own blanks - 3 hours pretty consistently. Never 4. This is after over 80 cartos from 5 different vendors ;-)

This is after over 80 cartos from 5 different vendors.
I got ahold of two 11mg Vapor4Life cartomizers and three blanks.

The two 11mg cartomizers were White Chocolate Strawberry, and Caramel.
Both tasted like perfume with overtones of flavor, somewhat similar to the labeled flavor.

I tried them both on my 510 manual batteries.
The vapor using my 510 manual batteries was miminal, and not satisfying.

I tried them both on my Chuck at 3.7 volts.
The vapor using the Chuck at 3.7 volts was decent, almost as much as my normal 510s.
I could have been reasonably happy with this option.

I tried them both on my Chuck at 6 Volts.
The vapor at 6 volts was good, about the same as my 510 atomizers on my 3.7V Chuck.
But the juice tasted a little burnt.

Conclusion: Much less vapor from a cartomizer than from a 510 atomizer

As for the blanks, and filling them up with my own juice to try this all over again?
My motivation level has not spiked high enough yet.
:)
