I currently use a blue e-cig and as much as I love it it lacks something and is expensive at times. I smoke it at work and analogs everywhere else that I can. I want to stop the analogs. My fiance of 5 years doesn't smoke and she wont even kiss me with the taste unless I use mouthwash first. I hate it. For her sake.

Here Is what I need.
1. A quality e-cig
2. Low maintenece besides quick refills etc. As I have very little time off.
3. Strong but very smooth vapor.
3. Long lasting parts
4. Very long lasting fast charging batteries.
5. Something that doesn't take up too much space if I charge it in the work van.
6. Real feeling enough to stop that secondary itch blue doesn't catch.
7. Easy to find replacement parts for in the event it breaks.
8. Something that costs less in the long run then analogs regardless of startup.
9. Pros and cons of clearomizers as to cartomizers etc.
10. Something customize able if possible like designs and colors that don`t just rub off or scratch easy.

I realize some of this is already covered vaguely but after so much reading I have to have a slightly better starting point lol. My reason form asking is to know exactly what I am getting myself into. I hate buying things with expectations of how things work and then finding out I needed a car charger or it took more batteries than it was worth. I don't want to have to drive out at 1a.m. to pick up a pack 6 months from now because I didn't plan on cleaning times or a battery charge or a steeping my dyi liquid lol.

What did you all start with and are you happy? Extra future food for thought?

Also I am trying to avoid fads that will just die off leaving me burned.

Thanks!

Hey there! Welcome to the family of vapers!

For starters, most would recommend some sort of EGO/EGO Twist setup.
http://www.madvapes.com/build-your-own-ego-kit.html
Reasons why this setup would be good for entry-level-vaping:
...It's basic, no confusing LED screens w/confusing options. No extra batteries to charge (battery is the whole device essentially)
...It's cheap, you can find cheaper than the link I gave, I generally do all my shopping through madvapes because of the service I have gotten from them and the shipping time (I am in PA they are in NC).
...It will be able to fit MOST tanks/clearo's/carto's/atty's ect, egos use what's called a 510 connection which is the most popular until you get into other Pv/mod setups.

Next would be an iTaste MVP (2.0) setup
iTaste 2.0 MVP Kit with iClear16 this is another very nice setup, not as common as the ego but it works very well and is a little bit of a step up from the common EGO PV's.
Reasons why I would recommend:
...THE BATTERY LASTS FOREVER!!! this thing rocks a 2600MAH batter-meaning it will last all day and then some!
...comes with a great clearo (iclear 16)
...fits 510 connections
...once again, this is a plug and charge device (no extra batteries!)
...this device acts as a PSU(power supply unit) for other devices, meaning you can charge things off of this PV
...it has a good fit in most hands, the box shape is very nice, it fits snug in your hand and gives you good grip over the PV

Internal batteries are great to start with because of the simplicity of the mod. All you do is plug and play, like I stated before, meaning just plug the whole thing into your charger outlet and that's it. No need to carry 2-3 batteries around just in case.

As for your questions on tank's/clearo's/atty's ect ect, that is something you are going to have do some research (information is readily available on this forum) and decide which would best suite your style. I personally love tanks because they hold so much liquid and it's just easy. There are some great pieces out there, and please...for your own sake...DON'T CHEAP OUT ON THESE!! the cheap ones tend to have a ton of problems. Read the reviews and form your own opinion, after all, it is your money!

Fogging your windows: I just keep the defroster on low the whole time if it is really cold out. There isn't really much you can do about that, can't change mother-nature.

What did I start with: I started with an ego 650mah battery and a stardust clearo. It was meh at best because of the clearo I got, I went for cheap and I definitely got cheap. Then I just kept moving on up. Such a great hobby to get into after you get over the switch from cigarettes to vaping.

Best of luck! Anymore questions feel free to ask!

in a warehouse buried near Univille SD
and here is my recommendation for newbies serious about switching

2 VV batteries and 2 Mini Protank 2s

it gives you 2 high quality VV (variable voltage) batteries (which will allow you to dial in the correct voltage for flavor, throat hit, and vapor production - all important in switching successfully) and glass clearomizers which will be compatible with any eliquid out there (some flavors will "crack" plastic clearomizers)

Dakota linked a very good setup actually. I would recommend, for the price, to get that over an ego setup.

Thanks everyone! That second setup sounds perfect. Think I will invest in a bottle of anti fog windshield spray. The van doesn't have the best defroster lmao. I work as an in home water purifier installer for Hague. If you are east of the kc metro region and have a carbon charge coming due I am likely to be the guy you see lol. I also do PC repair on days off. Needless to say I put an average of 5500 miles on per month. I will be so glad I don't need to roll my window down every time the urge hits in this cold.

Hey!
1. I started with Blu Cig Disposable 24mg (Luv the Natural Tobacco flav--and still my emergency goto).
2.Next bought the Blu Starter Pack (Not Starter Kit) which sucks! (only 16mg, crappy bats).
3.Moved to the GreenSmoke Pro Kit--great bats (as far as cig-a-likes go) and great tobacco flavors (Red and Gold). I still use these when I go out cause they look like cig, easy to carry, taste great and carts are sold at local grocery store (if needed). I would pop the caps on the "disposable" carts and refill.
4.Evod Kit then and a Kangar Mini Protank 2/VV batt (for my 100% VGs) for use mainly at home. Bought 6 EVOD tanks cause I just cant stop switchin up my flav!
5.I'm now looking at movin on up. Been eyeballin either the Itaste SVD or MVP.

Having a hard time makin up my mind. Probably end up with both eventually
(Then perhaps I'll actually find out of vapin is truly "cheaper".)

Don't care cause after being a Professional Smoker of 30+ years I quit smoking in 2 weeks and haven't looked back!
Good Luck!

I use to recommend ego twist's and vision spinners until I bought my mom an itaste vv v3. This thing is way better then both. Digital display that you control volts or watts. Shows the resistance of your coils, and shows battery charge. You can also use it while it's charging. The express kit is on sale to for 25$. Get yourself a couple evods and some juice and your set.

I will second this recomendation, pricey-yes but if you are like me and serious about it save some cash by buying this first. I wasted a lot of cash on building up to this setup. should of started with it in the first place.

i know i am a newb like you and still waiting for my supplies to start vaping but if i could do it over and if you have plenty of time to kill before it arrives because this place has the slowest shipping in the known universe. then i would choose from fasttech the innokin svd starter kit that includes the innokin svd, 2 iclear30 tanks and 3 replacement coils for $60.08 and free shipping . $60.08 Authentic Innokin iTaste SVD Variable Voltage/Wattage Starter Kit - w/ 2 x iClear30 atomizers and heating cores at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
and here is the pbusardo review of the same https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7DnXw0MqTs

- Kanger Protank II mini - 101 Vape
- Innokin iTaste VV (V3) Express kit - 101 Vape
- http://101vape.com/clearomizers/40-kanger-protank-replacement-coils.html

wish ya luck, let us know what ya end up doing... :)

Nice I will look into it. Money doesn't matter much when lifestyle change is the key if you ask me. Seriously a carton of Marlboro smooths is 42$ + and that is 3 times a month on average. Even triple that for good quality is worth it to me. After reading on some of the upgrades and mods I may be researching for a couple weeks to be sure but so far I like the advice of both the innokin and vv2. Again I greatly appreciate the advice!

These Innolin Itaste vv-v3 are great devices. I have a friend who I talked into trying them and they love them. They first bought two and now have three more on order. They have five flavors they vape and like to be able to switch back and fore between them. They use the Protank2 mini's for tanks.
This would be a great setup for you I think.

Hi again everyone, sorry, not trying to dig up an old thread here, just letting everyone know what happened. I finally got the money yesterday, and decided to go to a discount smoke shop I've been to many times, and they just so happened to have a few of the products recommended. I made a slight mistake in a rush as this place is usually too busy to doddle much without being in others way. lol. I bought the Kanger pro-tank II. I'm EXTREMELY happy I did already. Easy to put together, easier to use. However I made a mistake and bought the Sigelei Bagua 3 mod as it was sitting open, with the label not visible, next to the I-Taste v3. It looks awesome, feels awesome but bulky, and works great. Problem is, I don't have any control over how it vapes. The vapor is thick, which I expected, but I also bought 24 mg menthol juice. It's awesome in taste, but way too strong in nicotine and the throat hit is so bad I can't take it. A small burst, not even enough to feel and I'm instantly choking. I figured out how to dilute it safely, and it still taste good (but could use some further advice here). I used water from a reverse osmosis, which is free of any particulates of any kind basically.

I'm going back today to trade in for the I-taste for further control. Quick question, if anyone has time to answer or see's this in the next hour or two. Will controlling the vape make it any smoother, or is the vapor itself? It's 24mg/ml 2,2%. That's how it's labeled on the box..... Not what I was expecting to read now that I'm looking at it again lol. The brand is LIQUA, and the shop owner said he prefers it. Question, if it's the vape, could I add a very weak nic base to it and decrease the throat hit to a comfortable point by mixing?

My wife is pregnant with our first baby, we just found out last saturday, so stopping the second hand smoke is number one on my list of things to achieve, but I have very little money left to spare. Also, any advice on storage while driving ideas? I work as a repair man for water softener/purifiers with Hague Quality Water Inc. and deal with dust form carbon all over me, my cloths, and the vehicle. Advice on storage that still allows quick access would be awesome, though I'm pretty sure I have a couple ideas already in mind.

Any other mod's I should look at while I'm back at the store today to combine with the kanger and Itaste that would make it even more likely to be successful?

Thanks everyone, sorry for bringing up my old thread here, I'm hoping it's not a breach of the rules in this instance, if so, I will re-post in a new thread rather than here from now on.

Exchanged the Segelie Buaga 3 for a $20 extra on the Itaste VV/VW 3.0. Kept the Kranger tank. So glad I did at this point. The hit was instantly better but still too hard. It's the juice. I fixed that, at least enough I won't have this bottle go to waist until next friday on payday. The taste is far smoother, and the hit is almost perfect, and the headrush.... omg the headrush is awesome. I added .2 ml of Reverse Osmosified water, as I have a reverse osmosis system. It's cleaner than most bottled water even, at 20ppm and under. I then got bold, and grabbed the Itaste's extra plastic clearomizer and added lemon juice to that combo. Real lemon juice, like you sprinkle on fish. Less than .1ml. The taste was just enough to add a little something to the flavor, and now if I can find a way to make raw honey (love my organics) it would taste JUST like a hall's coughdrop (could eat them like candy).
