So I am wondering what the benefits of having a VV bottom feed mod such as a Red Sky or a VV mod like the Provari ? Im new to all this and am just wondering. I like the look of the wood mods but just dont know what the bottom feeders purpose is.If u had a choice what would u prefer and why? Thanks.

I just bought a vv bottom fedeer and I love it! You get the benefits of both vv and bottom feeding in one. Kinda like a multipurpose tool. Of course you can go for any vv mod and add some sort of tank but I've only used attys and boge cartos. I feel like the vv bottom feeder is the best of both worlds! I also feel like it is more cost effective in the long run. I love a 1.7 boge carto on my ego/riva but I can only get 2 good days out of it while I can get weeks out of an atty on a bottom feeder and I don't waste any juice.

The bottom feeder holds a bottle of juice inside the mod.. when the atty/carto needs feeding, you push the bottle (the mod has a cut out so you can squeeze without opening the box). My army tank has a closed feeding system so it doesn't leak inside the mod and the voltage is easy to turn up or down. It's like dripping, except you don't have to carry around a bottle and drip.. it's fed from the bottom of the atty instead of the top.

bottom feeders are supposed to take the mess out of dripping into an atty... for those that don't like to use cartomizers, although some use carto's on their bottom feeders.
a bottom feeder pushes juice up a tube into the bottom part of the atomizer or cartomizer by squeezing the side of the bottle.
the downside imo is that you can over feed and get flooding, leaking and gurgling, but you just need to learn how to squeeze properly.

the Provari is a regulated variable power tube PV... it is not a feeder. You have to either drip an atomizer, use a cartomizer or a tank system... it has LED readouts for voltage control 3.3 to 5.9v, regulated (boost) to give constant voltage without drops due to battery discharge cycle, battery check, power on/off, and checks resistance of the atomizer/carto/tank mod.

two very different PV's... btw some bottom feeders are VV variable voltage.

I'm using a carto on mine right now. I find that when a carto starts to lose flavor on my ego, I can put it on the bottom feeder and get more life out of it. It's different feeding it from the bottom rather than the top. I don't have a voltage read out but my army tank came with a voltage meter that I can screw onto the atty connection and see what voltage it is, I've learned to tell what voltage I'm using by looking at the position of the wheel. also it isn't easy to flood this thing, any extra juice comes out into the catch cup and is sucked back in the atty as needed. There is no leaking with this mod. I like a soupy atty/carto so I tend to squeeze a bit more than needed with no problems. I have another bottom feeder that is 3.7.. I coudn't seem to get a good vape cause the attys I had were either too low in resistance or too high. with this one I can dial it to where I want it.

i've seen the thread, and i agree; especially since Stownz has shown how well it works....this ArmyVV bottom feeder should be (especialy for the nice price point) a great PV for folks that are experienced and also newbies too... who don't have to worry about learning how to drip since it seems to work so well with cartomizers....
I know bottom feeders in general are attractive to folks who dont want to drip anymore... yet with atomizers on BF, one still needs to know the ins and outs of dripping imo. (thats why this would be GREAT for someone who is new and uses a carto).

If I could only have one, I would have a bottom feeder. I use mostly cartos on my bottom feeders which are mostly REOs. I even do the initial fill using the bottom feed system. I had a Provari and sold it. With the bottom feeders, I can drive at night, ride my horses, and I only need one hand. Even if the mod is only a 3.7V, using different resistance cartos/atties you can still get the experience of a VV.

that's why people like bottom feeders, and Reo all mechanical, is so favored by so many ... but ymmv or in other words different strokes...

There are those that like cartomizers, those that dont like cartomizers ... those that only like Dual Coil LR cartos... those that don't like bottom feeders. Those that drip or use tanks.

I sold my 2 Reo's, and my Ali'i... have had Provari for 8 months now and also liking my new Buzz Pro (tube VV pv's).
I mostly drip because i am a fanatic about taste and these regulated VV's can make the best out of any atomizer/cartomizer (pretty much) and i also have some interest in tank attomizers. With dripping i get a better taste than from a bottom feeder and i don't mind the trouble because of that.

I like dripping too. with a vv bottom feeder you can still drip different flavors, even with a carto on it. I can drip a couple drops of another flavor into the catch cup and immediately that flavor is what comes through. A vv bottom feeder is like multipurpose tool, you can drip, or not drip.. you can use attys or cartos of any resistance.. you can even put a tank on it and feed it from the top if you want. My all time favorite vaping set up is a 1.7 boge carto on my ego/riva.. I like it even better than the bottom feeder but that's just because I like the draw with the cone around the carto.

Right now I'm using a 3 day old carto on the bottom feeder because after a couple days, the flavor kinda changes when filling it from the top. I can get more mileage out of my cartos this way.

Same here. I had a ProVari and sold it. I love my bottom feeders. I have only 14500 and 18650 3.7v feeders currently, but have a VV being made. At this point, I keep one fixed non-feeding 5v mod and the rest are feeders. Can't wait to get the VV!! :D
