hey guys. when i originally got my brass stingray clone i loved the shiny look but i am quite a big fa of a nice patina look so i didn't bother picking up any polish or anything. i did like the patina for a while but now it just looks sort of dirty and funky and almost matte finished. i was gonna run out tomorrow and get some metal polish but i don't want to run the risk of getting the wrong thing and ruining the finish on my stingray. so what kind of polish do you guys use? or does anyone have any quick ways to polish a brass mod with household items? thanks for the help guys

I like Mother's Mag & Aluminum polish the best, one tin lasts forever. Others would likely recommend Cape Cod polishing cloths, they look really convenient, but I don't know how long to expect them to last with frequent brass polishing.

Speaking of polishing. Just got done with brass Stingray and SS Caravela. I used Blue Magic metal polish.

Used my voltage 510 connection and screwed the mod on it.
Insert the other end of the voltage connection to a drill with mod attached.
Smeared on Blue Magic or Flitz
Grabbed a clean paper towel and held it on the mod while engaging the drill.
After the towel turned black keep repeating.
Used a microfiber towel and repeat to a shine.

Looks ok for now.

I was waiting for the Simichrome post to follow, didn't expect to see Flitz first.

I think simichrome is more of a refinishing polish, at least that is what I use it for. When I have those fine scratches in my tubes, the simichrome buffs them out. It's particularly good in getting them out of end caps.

For a weekly polish I use Nevr-dull wadding.

May want to consider a clear coat. But automotive stores have some good ones. FYI a lot of Brass and copper mods have a clear coating of some kind. My hades did and my magneto did. I did the patina thing on my hades and my #19 and will be doing my Magneto soon. I plan to put lacquer on that to protect the patina. Copper was the best. The brass was way to dark.

Nevr-Dull is another fine product. A jewelry cloth is also a great thing for a quick no mess shine up.

Flitz just flat out works. The best part about it is that less is more. I enjoy Car, motorcycle, vintage mini bike and bicycle restorations as a hobby. I have brought back of lot of pretty ugly parts using Flitz. Even things that others said no way.
Hey it's great to see another vintage bicycle guy on here :)
