:thumb: These are actually 12 amps CDR. This is the best IMR battery on the market, besting the purple Efest 18350 by almost 2 amps CDR and 100 mAh.

Battery Basics for Mods
Lol, them's the ones, all right :)

I prefer Efest - cheap and very good
I used the Purple Efests before I got the AWs. You can get them flat top, and thereby shorten the assembled mod by 1.5mm or so. But I have never believed they are anything more than re-wrapped 6 amp standard batteries, and that's how I treat them in the absence of testing.

Thanks for the replies but without going into ohms laws isn't there a basic more simple standard to follow with the desired set up I want? I'm really just looking to use the new orchid v4 with a nemesis, maybe with a set 26 Gauge dual coil set up as my go to set up so nothing unexpected happens...

In a word, no. If you're going to build coils you have to understand the basics so "nothing unexpected happens." It isn't that hard, all you have to learn is simple calculation:

utm.gif

P = power (watts)
V = volts
R = resistance
I = current (amps) The "I" originates from the French phrase intensité de courant, it translates in English as "current intensity."

(I changed the order of quadrants around on the wheel for amusement, but the formulae are all still correct.)

This is my favorite of the bunch:
voltage x voltage / resistance = wattage
watts / volts = amps

That's it. There are calculators online and, I imagine, apps, but with practice you can do it at a glance; besides, you won't be calculating that often, only when planning/checking a build and buying the correct batteries. You will also have to learn how different gauge wire relates to resistance, but that is something you will memorize.

Trust me - I'm old enough to be your mom and sucked at math in school.

I'll reiterate what I said above... if you are going to use a high powered incendiary device without a fuse, you really ought to learn Ohm's Law.

That would make a great Provari end cap :)

No, I'm afraid not. There simply isn't a safe way to do this without understanding how it works. If this is more effort than you care to supply, don't build. It would, I suppose, be possible to buy your tank and pay somebody to build it for you. But then you'd have to trust *them* to understand it.

Alright let me rephrase let's say I'm going to stick to a small dual coil build for a while, orchid v4 with those purple efest 350s, could someone just calculate FOR me ? And I never Never build my own I usually just take it to the shop
Do you have a way to measure your build before putting it on your mod & firing it, i.e. like an ohm reader?

If you use a regulated device, one that has electronics in it, then it typically does all that safety checking for you.

If you use a mechanical device, then it is up to you to.. measure the resistance of your coils, check for short circuits, make sure your battery is capable of safely powering the coil and so on.

'take it to the shop' shows a level of trust i don't have. Don't be lazy - learn the stuff and your vape will be better for it.

Everyone mentioned the batteries part, but you need to know ohms law. You need to be able to check your own resistence. We can say about what your build is at, but it depends on how well you build it. There is a lot that can affect it. Learn the information you need to be safe, or don't use the type of device at all in my opinion. I spent a lot of time learning this information when I progressed to more advance products. PLUS about the building, you may build it wrong and have a short which is dangerous as well. We won't be able to see it, but checking ohms with a multimeter or ohm meter will tell you that.

FYI, Provape is also a reputable dealer for authentic AW batteries.
Just be safe my friend. You have to know the limitations of the gear you're using. The 'wrong' battery paired with the 'wrong' coil can be catastrophic in an unregulated device, and you're holding it near your face when you push the button.

18350 batteries on a mech WILL NOT last you all day....unless you take one puff every 30 minutes or so.

after reading this thread, you need to understand that you are essentially working with a bomb every time you handle your mod. There are people that are trained and taught how to handle bombs safely and correctly.

If you don't want to take the time and learn what you are doing/what's going on, then please don't use the equipment you are using. Everytime a vapor blows themselves up, it's bad publicity for the whole community.

You act like its a freakin chore to enter 2 numbers and hit calculate... geeze.

Online Conversion - Ohm's Law Calculator

There must be 1000 ohms law calculator apps for phones by now as well.

    It truly takes less time to do the calculation than it took to type your post. :)
