Hi all,

I'm researching batteries and it can be an extensive subject..but they seem to all function the same way. I saw a few charts from testing and most are similar.

What do you all recommend, for eg, for a vapor shark rdna30? Is the Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mah the best and most powerful battery on the market? I'm also looking at Sony, Efest, MNKE, AW IMR, etc.

What do you all recommend?

Thanks

I'm mainly using using the Purple Efest 3100mAh 18650s (20A rated), Panasonic NCR18650PF 2900mAh (10A rated) and Panasonic NCR18650PD 2900mAh (10A rated) on my VWs. All of them easily get me thru a workday plus.

On standby are the Sony VTC518650 2600mAh (30A), Panasonic CGR18650CH 2250mAh (10A) and the Samsung INR18650-20R 2000mAh (15A). My favourites are the above Purple Efests!

No the Panasonic ncr18650b has a 2C / 6.8a maximum continuous discharge rate.
The continuous discharge rate (CDR) is more important than mah.
"Powerful" is rated in amps, mah determines how long the battery lasts between recharging cycles.

As mah increases CDR decreases.

Orbtronic sx30 2100mah 30a cdr.
Sony vtc4 2100mah 30a cdr.
Xtar 2100mah 30a cdr - re wrapped vtc4
AW 1600mah 24a cdr.
Samsung 25r 2500mah 20a cdr
LG he2 2500mah 20 cdr.

Only buy batteries from reputable vendors / dealers.

Do not listen to qorax. Please educate yourself sir. You are recommending dangerous batteries to people.
Batteries are rarely ever dangerous. The usage of them can be.

Sony VTC5s would be very safe to use in the mod you mention DDZC.
It also depends what you are going to put on top of it. If you don't sub ohm most 10A rated batteries would already do.

Always buy proper branded batteries from good sources. (The larger web shops or a decent vape shop).

Dear brother,
1. IMR &/or Hybrid batteries are perfectly safe for our e-cig use.
2. As long as you are purchasing the above from trusted sources - you're good.
3. Panasonic is a time tested brand. So is Sony, LG, Samsung, Sanyo etc.
4. There are only few actual manufacturers of batteries, rest all are repackagers.
5. AW & Efest both repackages (sourced from Panasonic, Sony, LG etc.)
6. The OP is intending to use them in 'regulated' mods. Any of my posted batts will be fine.
7. In a regulated mod as long as the discharge rate is around 10A it'd be fine. We don't need 20A batts.
8. A [quality] regulated mod has all the 'protection' we need.
9. All the above taken into a/c no batt is dangerous in a WAE, Provari, VS-DNA etc. type of mod.
10. In a regulated mod, keeping that 10A intact it's wise to also lookout for a higher mAh batt. Gets you longer.

The DNA30 board goes erratic with a batt having less than 10A discharge rate. It's still safe to use them but the output is inconsistent and it gets power-starved infrequently. Yes I've tested. So, if my Purple Efest is the bone of contention here - kindly note that it behaves well in my WAE-II (DNA30 device). And surprisingly so does the regular Efests!

Top consumer battery manufacturers:
(A) Alkaline: Duracell, Energizer, Gold Peak, Hitachi Maxell, Mugen Power, Nippo, Rayovac
(B) Lithium: LG, Panasonic*, Samsung, Sanyo*, Sony, Tadiran, Uniross*, VARTA*

*They produce Alkaline batteries too

I value your opinion Sir, hence writing this post.

My post was rude. Sorry. However my 30w box has an amp limit of 12 amps. Using a 10 amp battery could be unsafe. My builds keep me under 10a, but we don't know the exact device the OP will end up with or how he will setup the atty. Without this specific information, telling him a 10a battery is fine might not be.
BTW- the Evolv DNA 30 chip isn't the only 30w chip out there, but even they recommend at least a 12 amp battery.
