As I am expecting my first GGTS in near future, I have question about batteries - by your experience, which are the best ones for GGTS?

GGTS will be used with UFS and mainly 510 LR and RR atty.

Here on the ECF they say that AW IMR are best batteries for mods, but I haven't found any AW IMR battery over 2200mAH.

Do you have any expirience with Panasonic 3400mAh 18650 Li-ion Battery Cell NCR18650B? Or Protected 3400mAh 18650 Li-ion Battery - Cell Panasonic NCR18650B - Orbtronic?

I would appreciate if GG users can recomend me best and most trusted batteries with biggest mAh number. If I bought best mod, it would be crime to be cheap on the batteries. :2cool:

Hello,
I use AW IMR 18650 2000mAh and 18350 700mAh. The 18650 last me 6-8 hours and with a Kick longer, the 18350 last about 4 or so hours.
I would only recommend using protected batteries. I believe there is a section on ECF that talks about the different types of batteries.

Hope this helps

Thank's for your answer. I already read threads about batteries, now I'm trying to find out what is the expirience with GGTS and specific batteries.

My friends also recomend me AW IMR, but they last shorter then I would like. And I don't have in plan bying Kick in near time, so best option to vape longer and without droping under 3.7v is to buy batteries with as much as possible mAh.

These from my first post are both protected, have high number of mAh but I would like to know if anyone tried them on GGTS and how did they performed.

Moon,

Don't focus so much on the mAH. Most of that extra charge is going to be unusable to an ecig because the battery will not be able to hold a high enough voltage under load. If you are using a LR atty and the battery starts to drop well below 3.5-3.4 under load you will not have as pleasant of a vape. If you are using a higher resistance (or even LR) atty and a Kick, it will still cut off when the battery can't hold 3.2 volts under load. I fell for the mAH rating myself when buying my first round of batteries and soon learned that a good IMR battery will actually outlast the higher mAH rated non IMR battery for our usage. AW is a great battery and you can't go wrong with the Pila charger. I now have two chargers and a bag full of AW bats and they are all still kicking .....

Again, thank you for your answers guys. I believe that I will buy a bunch of AW IMR's and stop thinking alot about this matter. :)

Does anyone know trusted seller in the States? I was reading and found out that there is a big problem with false batteries, so I would like to find 100% original.

Genuine AW Batteries at RTD vapor

I buy all mine here and have never had an issue with the produccts or the customer service. Use code ecf5 for 5% off the purchase price. You can use the contact us link at the top of the page to see if he can ship overseas.

Don't need overseas shiping, just fast delivery. My uncle is coming to Serbia from the States on 5th, so he will bring everything that I have ordered from US. No shipping, custom fees or import taxes. :)

His shipping is very fast and Randy is a nice guy to do business with. :)

Check out the Panasonic CGR18650CH. There are much users in germany on my forum, which use these battery with the GGTS. I use it with my GGTS and a kick at 10 Watts all the time since three month and still no problems. 2300 mah, and the tests from our specialists in the forum means that they are equal to AW, maybe a little bit better. There are discussions at ECF too...

Thank you. Now I am little bit confused what to buy, but that is the price when you ask for opinion.

At the end I'm gonna buy one of each, that will be the best solution. :D

I have been having this same type question, but I have learned that the Panasonic will blow the AW or MNKE that was mentioned out of the water! What I haven't figured out is there is a NCR3400B,3100,2250,and some other mAh,then there are the Panasonic CGR18650CH 2250 mAh,then there's orbtronic,Callie's Customs,Readilast,International Outdoor, and Xstar that are all NCR18650B 3400 mah or NCR18650A 3100 mAh Panasonic cells, that they add protection to them and wrap them with their companies name and size of the battery on them! From what I have read even AW batteries are Panasonic cells!!What I am trying to find out is which of the Panasonic types the NCR18650 or the CGR18650 are needed or better suited for ecig mods?I am pretty sure the Panasonics NCR are unprotected and that's why other companies like orbtronics add there patent protection circuits on them, but the CGR type are for high capacity and are a safer chemistry like the IMR 18650 batteries? This information should be made more clear, but I think there are more out there than me and you, wondering why the hell this information is not better explained,or easier to find with a Google search!Google what is the difference in a Panasonic NCR18650 and CGR18650 and you still don't get a clear picture,or straight answer!Hope this helps you,but will prolly make you more confused like all the searching I have done?Let me know if you get this completely figured out and I will do the same!Good Luck!!

Panasonic NCR are ICR types, which are unsafe for vaping, whereas CGR types use a hybrid Lithium-Mangan technology which is safe for vaping and provides the high currents we need, so please do not use the NCR batteries (unless you have a vendor who added his Protection Board)!
With regards to the CGR types, the CH fits our vaping demands best. Cells make a trade off between capacity and current delivery. Usually ICR (=Panasonic NCR) types give you a big capacity but they can't deliver high currents well. Pure IMR (=AW IMR 1600) cells are able to provide high currents but at the trade of for a relative low capacity.
The hybrid batteries (=Panasonic CGR) do mix both technologies and create a battery that is safe like pure Lithium-Mangan and proides more power than a pure ICR type can deliver.
SO basically there are several types of Panasonic CGR around and the german byttery test found out that the CGR-CH type is exactly what we need for vaping. Personally I also prefer the Samsung 22P over the Panasonics but they are pretty much equal. :)

Check my post here, there are some graphs that compare the AW IMR 2000, Panasonic CGR-CH and the Samsung 22P to each other.

Also there are some companies that just wrap their own logo around OEM cells. For instance the EFest 2250mAh has an Panasonic CGH-CH inside, just another foil wraped around. The advantage here is that EFest sells them with flat-top (fine for GG) or button-top (needed for instance if you will use them in an Provari).
