Well currently using the 510, and as posted in an earlier thread, not really impressed. I figured I can fix ( courtesy of the nice responses ) the cartridge issues, but the battery life is definitely a problem, and in my experience, the best hits I get are from freshly charged batteries, and that quickly goes away once I take a few hits.

So I am looking into a battery mod that will allow me to use a 5 Volt battery with my 510 atty and cart's.

My MAIN goals are
1. Chain vaping - I recently quit smoking, and I am chain vaping 24mg liquid.. and I just feel like I don't get any satisfaction. Perhaps a stronger liquid would help, but I think a stronger, more consistent vapor would also

2. Battery Life without losing voltage - I am getting a good hit at the beginning of a freshly charged 510 battery, but it goes away quickly. So I am looking for something that is consistent AND provides longer power.

3. Something durable - Won't break easily if I drop it, or have switches that break.

Any suggestions? Pros and cons? If you think a 3.6 Volt mod would be ok, I would be open to that.

So far I am just seeing the Jantystick, protege, and prodigy.. I would like to find something from a retailer that is a little less expensive if possible.

Thanks for the suggestions!

DIY USB StraightThrough mod?

Get a USB power box at a retailer.

Mod a USB battery box?

I agree with the nasty flaky drags after the initial few minutes. I too Chain-Vape, but LOW nic. I have been adding PGA like 10-33% for better hits, but my new clove juice is a bit strong in the clove with PGA.

I myself am thinking about going 6v with a Chuck.

I was really thinking about the passthrough, but I move around too much to be restricted to one place. So I like the idea of something I can have in my pocket ready to go when I need it.. with maybe just the need for one spare battery, atomizer, and bottle of juice.

Is there a list of manufactures that sell chucks?

PM jeffakamax I was told...

There are no 5v batteries. Mods that work at 5v use two 3v batteries with a regulator to adjust the 6v down to an output of 5v.

The Chuck does not vape at 5v. It works at either 3.7v (one large battery) or 6v (two smaller 3v batteries).

Two 5v mods that come to mind are:

The Prodigy
PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!

The new XHALER. This mod is designed to work at 3.7v, 5v, 6v, and 7.4v depending on the batteries used and the configuration of the mod's adjustable end cap.

Hey, I did watch your videos. I am not the most technically inclined.. had a hard time understanding most of them. I would totally make my own, but being off analogs right now for only 3 days COMPLETELY.. I feel that I might just frustrate myself like crazy trying to build my own! LOL

I make a 5 Volt Mod and show others how to make there own 5 volt PV.

Click link in my signature. Then scoll down to find my DIY Video.

Pretty much just looking for something that gives more consistent hits.. with better battery life than the 510 alone.

Everyplace I have found has a delay, or pre-order, or 2-3 weeks shipping.

Any of these type of mods available in stock? The protege and prodigy say 2-3 weeks...

GLV has stopped taking pre-orders

Jantyusa website it totally down.

LOL.. I am not trying to be picky.. just want to get something ordered today if possible so I can stop the battery frustration and lack of consistency with this 510. Thanks for any suggestions!

I need to make a new DIY Video. Soon I will make one showing everyone how to make a 5 Volt Detonator with LED's.

If you are not limiting your choices to only high voltage mods and want something fairly quickly (next shipment on 12/7) you could consider a Bartleby.

The new DSE 905 mod appears to be in stock. You'd need an adapter for your 510 atomizer.

I, too am looking for a good mod. Not necessarily a 510 (although that's all I've tried) or 5V. The ones I've seen the most talk about here are the Chuck, Prodigy, Protege, & Xhaler. I basically want the most reliable one, with the ability to add adapters to try different atomizers (although I don't fully understand which comes with what), and good flavor, vapor, and throat hit. Oh, and good battery life too (I'm not asking for much, right????). The throat hit I'm getting with my 510 isn't really doing it for me and I've tried high nic stuff. I know everyone has their favorite, but what would be a good recommendation for a first time mod buyer?
