Best advice on E cigarette

I'm a 30 year smoker. Mostly Marlboro full strength. I served 27 years in the military and medically retired due to wounds at 100%. I know this means little to many but I know it's needed info for my questions.

I have tried to quit smoking many times with six months being longest guit time. Tried everything available, pills, patches, gum, inhaler, acupuncture, and counseling only made me want to light up. Because of my injuries and the many meds I take I can't use the pills or the patch. The patch only severely increases my nightmares. The pills go against the many meds I take. I basically gave up trying to quit.

Well a week ago I became a grandfather and they live with me. Even though I smoke outside I know it still effects the baby.

I've researched the web and the only basic thing I found out is that all e cigarettes are made in China. Either cartridge or tank. Look-a-like cigarette or designer. Tons of flavors.

This is what I must know.
1. Expense is no problem for top quality.
2. I want a tank model.
3. Variable voltage.
4. The only flavor I want is Marlboro with the same throat hit.
5. I DO NOT want it to look like a cigarette.
6. Metal tank is OK. Agsint quality over cheap.

Please help me.

The order of the provari will arrive soon...That appears the top quality device you are looking for, Tank types you are best to try a few types.there is no way you will duplicate the taste of a burning tobacco cigarette in any juice but I am sure some will give you suggestions of juices that may come close
to the basic flavor of a Marlboro

1,2,3,5,6 point to Provari and it's US made and you seem like the kind of guy who might appreciate that as well.

As for #4.....I'll bet you a Provari that you'll change your mind on that one within 6 months

Hi, I sure do empathize, I tried it all too without success until I discovered Vaping.
Since you intend to jump right in and get the right stuff from the beginning, a kit isn't really an option.
Batteries(mods), Tanks and liquids are usually bought separately.

Mods
Since expense is no problem look into a ProVari. I think it's pretty much the top end for VV

Tanks
I haven't tried a lot because after I got a Vision vivi nova mini I quit looking. It's a "top coil" and gives a warm vapor. The iClear is also a top coil and frequently recommended.
Rebuildables atomizers are higher quality but not for a beginner or someone with any dexterity problems if that applies. You can always add one later because most mods and tanks have the standard 510 thread.

Liquids
Liquids are made of PG, VG, Nicotine, and Flavor
VG gives a lot of vapor but is smooth
PG gives a better throat hit and carries flavors better.
I use 70/30 18mg which is 70%PG and 18mg of nicotine per ml. It gives a good throat hit and adequate vapor.
You won't be able to find one that tastes just like Marlboro. I mix my own and couldn't. I did find that I needed a slight unpleasant aftertaste that cigs have that I just didn't notice anymore.
You didn't say how much you smoked. 18-24mg would be a good place for a 2 pack a day (PAD) smoker and 12mg might be better for 1 PAD or less smoker.

You might enjoy an SVD with an iClear30S, or Aspire Nova tank -- definitely won't be mistaken for a cigarette.

There is no tobacco eliquid that spot ones delivers Marlboro flavor, and the flavor of burning paper and leaves is not reproducible. But since you are in Tennessee, you might be close to one of Mountain Oak Vapor's locations: Premium USA Made E-Liquid & E-juice, Manufactured in Tennessee at Mountain Oak Vapors

Try out one of their Silver Label Naturally Extracted Tobaccos like Apache or Southern Gentleman.

There is also ANALOG from Goodejuice and Big Spirit from Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco.com for some close to cigarette flavor.

I'm not of the Provari Order, but I do think a Provari would be good for you as it's made in the USA, high quality, etc . . .

As far as your juice goes, you'll probably need a higher nic level depending on how many cigs you smoke per day. Not sure about any Marlboro flavors, but someone here can help you with that.

And as far as tanks go, there is a WIDE variety to choose from. I use Kanger tanks and Inokkin tanks mostly, but there are very high-end carto tanks that you can get that are apparently just magical. The JonBoy lava tank might suit you well as it is made in the USA by a fellow ECF member. Hope you find what you are looking for!

Has anyone mentioned a ProVari from Provape yet ....:D ProVari Variable Voltage Ecig: Best Variable Voltage E Cig Available!
Got to get the AW batteries and a good charger also. They come in different colors

I would look into a cartomizer and a carto tank to give you less hassles and great flavor and vapor. You can look into rebuildables later after youve been vaping a while.

I am an ex Marlboro Smoker (37 years) While you wont find anything that tastes the same, I have gotten many folks off cigs with a juice called 7 leaves from freedomsmokesusa http://freedomsmokeusa.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=412 This is a juice you dont have to "age" and it kinda tastes like a marlboro light IMHO..... Good juice.

After a while , you most likely will go into othwer flavors..

Good luck and welcome to the forums

Welcome to ecf. I will concur with all of the previous posters. Provari with a protankII sounds like just your style.

Thank you for your service to our country and for keeping us safe.

:)

ps In case you have yet to read this......Increase your liquid intake when you start vaping. Ecigs dries out the nose, mouth and throat. So keep your fav beaverage close by. Dehydration is no joke.

Ex Marlboro smoker here. I have a few orders coming that are tobacco flavors. One is from ahlusion and the other is from epipemods. I will let you know if they are any good when they arrive. Currently vaping RWHY4 from kansascityvapes and it is not bad. Another one I have been rotating with that is cigar clove from same vendor. Niether taste like a Marlboro but both have that grimey taste that I need atm. Good Luck and thanks for your service!

Lots of recommendations for the Provari. So to throw a spanner in the works, I'm pretty much the same as you. Awaiting arrival for the much cheaper Tesla. I ordered it from Vape Dudes. The kit includes batteries, some liquid, the tank - everything one needs to get started.

I read about them here. Their liquid sounds great. And the kit is a very good deal, methinks, for $79 USD. I've checked out many YouTube vids on the Tesla, and they sound pretty good to me.

One more nod for the Provari. Grab the starter kit that comes with the Kanger Protank. It's a great tank that works well, and is easy to use. ProVari Variable Voltage Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit V2.5

As for juices, the flavor that got me off of cigarettes for good was Virginia from Backwoods Brew. I suggest starting with 24mg strength. You may also really like their Backo flavor. Use the code ECF10 for 10% off. Virginia Tobacco

Hello and welcome to ECF

firstly a+ on doing some research first before just going out and buying the crappy blu starter kit...don't get me wrong it's good for what it is but mostly it's a waste of money as it won't help most people to quit.

and lmfao what's not made in china anymore

So do you mind buying from china or not? If so than I highly recommend Fasttech not only because they are cheap but esp being new to vaping this allows you to test all kinds of different batteries and tanks to find what you like and then you can pay for the higher end makes/models once you are sure what you like without having wasted a ton of money.

If not I suggest AltSmoke's vv 1300 mAh spinner (the higher the mAh, the longer the battery life)

keep in mind with vaping getting that exact cig taste isn't always going to work as there is nothing like a cig....however there is close to and after vaping you'll prob change your mind...I started this journy to replace my clove cigars and almost 5 months later hardly ever vape clove do mostly fruit flavors now.

Always go for glass or metal tanks to be sure that you won't have to worry about tank cracking juices...

as far as juice goes I can't help with a marlboro taste a like....I will admit that the NJoy disposables to me tasted pretty close to a Marlboro and Marlboro has their own cig-look-alikes now....but I have seen some times say they have juice that tastes like Marlboro I'm sure someone will come along and post a few for you.

Feel free to check out my blog here on ECF for some starter help and starter kit info New Vapor Starter Kits
I'm still new myself but best advice I can give is: keep in mind vaping is all personal preference and there is no bad choices...what you decide is what you will be living with and using
feel free to ask question, no question is stupid, just mis/under informed.

Some things to keep in mind:
Try to stick to pv's (personal vapors) that have both the 510 and ego connections this way you have all kinds of options when it comes to juice delivery systems.

Variable Voltage (vv) = everyones taste is different so you can set your voltage up or down to help suit your needs as well as different juices and different juice delivery systems (cartomizers, tanks, ect) taste different at different voltages. (how many times can I say different)

Variable Wattage (vw) I haven't tried yet but assuming it is the same principle as stated above for vv.

Passthrough battery to be able to vape while charging.

the higher the mAh the longer the battery life

do you prefer a warm vape (top coil) or a cool vape (bottom coil)? top coil vs bottom coil tanks, to each their own...but go with glass or metal so that there's no worries about tank cracking juices.

And then Size Does Matter
For those out there with the "size problem"
Here is something to give a good judgement

First and foremost, thank you for your service and sacrifice.

I smoked over a pack a day for a long time too. I did not quit with my first child but since my wife is pregnant again. I was strongly urged to quit. So this time I am giving it an honest try. I also did not want it to look like a cig. I try the blu and they just made me want to pick up the real thing again. So I got a vamo v3 and a protank. This was a lot bigger than a traditional smoke but I couldn't draw on it like I could a cigarette. So I tried based on suggestion to try the iclear 30. So I bought a box mod the innokin MVP and VTR that came with the iclears. It's a bit bigger and heavier. I love the feel in the hand and the draw is much tighter which I like. As for the flavor of juice, I have tried quite a few tobacco flavors. I was a menthol smoker and loved the menthol taste. Surprisingly after a little bit Vaping the tobacco flavor my tastes changed and the tobacco flavor wasn't doing it anymore. I branched out to some other stuff. Right now I like the licorice flavor and cinnamon menthol. Good luck finding what you are looking for and don't be afraid to branch out and try something new

I was one who wanted a tobacco flavor at first too.... but as long as I enjoy the flavor and a good throat hit from what I have, I am good. There are none out there that will taste like an actual cigarette which is a good thing.... we want to get away from that disgusting flavor and smell anyway.

Personally I've been taking a look at the Joyetech eVic battery coupled with a Kanger Protank 2. I'm a computer geek and a technophile and I fell in love the customization the eVic software allows for as well as the increasing functionality and improvements that come with every firmware update. Right now I have a Joyetech eGo-C Twist VV battery and a Smoktech 3.5ml DCTank with LR Boge F16 cartomizers in it and it works great but the fancy gadget that is the eVic attracted my eye like a shiny ribbon attracts a bird looking to build a nest.

Yes Joyetech is a China-based manufacturer but my $250 computer graphics card was made in China, uses military class II components and has performed like a beast without error for about three years now.
