Hi all:

I’m somewhat new to this whole vape thing, but I’m very concerned with battery safety. Currently, I’m running a Wismec RX GEN3 box mod with a smok TFV12 tank. I am currently using 3 LG HG2 batteries at 100watts. Is this safe? Should I be using higher amp-rated batteries? I’m considering switching to the LG HB6 battery, even though it has half the capacity. Help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So what battery would you recommend if I every wanted to try to go up to 300 watts?
Apart from the complete impracticability of that power level, there are no three 18650s on the market capable of safely providing it.
The HB6 30 amp battery is good for 90 watts, so with 3 batteries you could hit 270 watts. But due to the high power demand and the HB6 only having 1500 mAh your run times would be very very short.

There aren’t any. The problem is they build to claimed amp ratings rather than real ones and there are rewrappers out there claiming they have 40amp batteries that are simply lying

Agreed on two points: you aren't going to get 300 watts safely using any 18650 and the larger batteries the 27 series are pretty new to the scene and also have been shown to be pretty variable in testing Mooch has done so far.

Also, I highly doubt (although anything's possible) that you'd necessarily enjoy/need a 300 watt vape. Not only do I find it hard to think anyone would enjoy consistently running that wattage, the amount of juice, batteries, and even overstressing mods just make it a both risky and wasteful practice, I'd think.

Is there a particular reason you want to vape 300 watts?

I don't necessarily WANT to vape at 300 watts. I was just wondering if there existed a battery that could handle this.
Not very pocket friendly...

Welcome and glad you joined.
I have provided a little more information which might help choosing/evaluating batteries.
