I've jumped into this thing head over heels in the last 2 weeks. I've got all the 510 stuff including some extended life batteries. Even the higher capacity batts only last 2 - 3 hours for me. That's an improvement over the standard batts but I keep reading about tornados and egos and batteries lasting 12 hours and such.

So my question - what parts are required to adapt which batteries to a 510 attie and who do you recommend to get it all in one place? Thanks, I'm still a newb!

I recently got a Bartleby, which is good for a full day for most people. It comes with a 510 connector already, so no extra parts are needed. Pretty much any mod that uses a 14500 (AA sized) battery is going to last about the same. The ego battery is only about 650mAh, which is a lot more than your 510 mega batts (280mAh), but less than a 14500 battery (900mAh). If that's still not enough, there are several mods that take 18650 batteries (2200-3000 mAh) which last a few days for most people.

There is no one perfect mod for everybody. If there were, we'd all be using it! Instead, you're going to have to do a bit of research and find something that fits your needs, aesthetic preferences, and budget. I suggest browsing this excellent list and then doing a bit of research on whatever piques your interest.

Alternately, if you're a DIY kind of guy, you can build your own 14500 box mod for about $10 worth of parts and less than an hour's work.

As for adapters, there are only two major types of connector. The 510/306 connector is a fine thread, with a female battery and a male atty. The 901/808 is a coarser thread, with a male battery and a female atty. There are a few others (801, 401), but they're rare. Any mod you purchase will be available with one of the two major ones. You can get adapters to convert back and forth from various suppliers. I got one of each from Good Prophets.

For an eGo/Tornado, you need the battery, the cone, and the charger. Totally Wicked has all three in stock:

TORNADO-Accessories / Totally Wicked eLiquid / electronic cigarette eliquid nicotine fluid products

If you love the 510 atty then why not consider the Screwdriver...

You don't need an adapter to fit the Tornado bat and the 510 atty. That's what the Tornado bat fits.

You WILL need a cone if you want it to look good. A cone just ties the fat bat in with the skinny atty for aesthetics.

And, unless you are a very light vaper, it's doubtful you will get 12 hours out of one. I vape heavy and get a bit over six hours.

I use this charger and find that the ability to charge 5 bats at a time is a distinct advantage over the one holers.

However, for the Tornado bat, you will need these adapters to fit this charger.

Hope that helps.

I agree with everything Jerry says here, but do want to point out that the mega charger for the Tornado cuts down charging time by more than 1/2. And as such, I would recommend getting one. Just be sure to use a AC > USB adapter so you don't burn out the USB port on your computer (or worse your motherboard).
