Questions about 510/eGo PCCs and rechargeable batteries.

I've been vaping for nearly a year now, started with a 510 starter kit, bought a few spare batteries, moved up to 510 megas, bought a PCC and have just recently upgraded to the eGo-T and yet another PCC.

I managed to lose a few 510 batts and I think that I killed a few with dripping , and the three regular 510 batts and the one 510 mega batt that I have from last year are starting to fail - they seem to last for a half-hour or an hour at best. Doing the math, I'm not too surprised, they supposedly are only good for around 200 charge/discharge cycles, and even with 6 of them in rotation, I can how they'd be failing me after a year.

I only use auto batts, can't stand pressing the button unless it's a juicebox mod. :2cool:

So... I still drip, but only with my set of "near death" batteries, and I've just gotten a pair of eGo-T 1000 mah batteries and another pair of 510 mega batts - not to be used for dripping, I swear.

Having either ruined or just plain worn out a half-dozen batteries, and endeavoring to make my current setup last for as long as possible, I've been reading here and elsewhere about battery life, discharge cycles, trickle currents, et cetera, ad infinitum, but I'm left with a few questions:

I never unplug my eGo PCC, the light stays green unless I'm charging a battery in it (mostly I use my USB charger, though) or taking it with me for a night out:

- Is there any chance that I'll "overcharge" the PCC battery this way?

- when I get home and plug it back in, the charging light is red for a brief time. Does this count as a "recharge cycle"? Should I use it unplugged to recharge my eGo batts in order to drain it and recharge it on it's own later?

- when I use it (or the USB charger) to charge an eGo batt, is there any chance of "overcharging" the eGo batt?

- should I move the ego batt to a blank slot once it has charged rather than leaving it connected?

Generally, unless it's an overnight thing, in order to minimize charge/discharge cycles, I like to take the 510 mega PCC (and the pair of new batts) with me when I head out - even though the difference in cost is only $5, I feel a little more protective of my eGo setup than the 510 stuff - plus, I prefer to shoot pool with a 510 sticking out of my mouth more than I like leaving bite marks in eGo-T tanks.

But in this new spirit of trying to take care of my setups, I have some questions about the 510 mega PCC as well (I give up on the regular 510 stuff , it's only useful around the house):

- unlike the eGo PCC, if I leave my 510 mega PCC plugged in all the time, I notice that it occasionally goes from green to red and back again over a short time. What's that about? Is it a discharge cycle?

- am I killing my new mega batts by leaving one in the plugged-in PCC all the time (girl scout style) so that I've always got a pair of "fresh" batteries when I run out?

- in general, how long do PCCs/batteries hold a charge? I'm thinking that I've got a fully charged batt in the "spare" slot of the PCC, but what happens if I don't use (or charge) it for a month?

I know that these questions overlap with others that have been asked here, so if there's a thread that provides these answers as well, I'll happily follow the link. I'm just wondering about this stuff after having read a lot of what's being said over at Rechargeable Batteries and Chargers, and recognizing the difference in usage patterns of e-cig batteries/chargers versus what's being said there about more general-purpose batts and chargers.
