Ok, tried my sister's riva, sold on the idea. She had a low nic level/fruity flavor in it, though... not my thing. Would love a cig that looks kind of like a real cig. can be a bit longer, but not into the joy ego big fat weirdo looking things. don't need a huge battery, I'd guess- i'm smoking about 10 cig's a day... maybe 15 on a heavy day.
I am not looking to mod, or get to be an expert and play with a million add-ons. I want simple, but I don't mind dripping in some liquid.
I'm not an idiot, but I don't have time or the energy to get too complicated.
Obviously, not too much money would be nice, too :)
Thanks!:2cool:

Smoke Tip looks like a cig.

Electronic Cigarette | Affordable, Only | 100% FREE Shipping!

you can get prefilled carts from there or V4L.

It's not going to have the TH of an ego though.

Hmm, if you have to go down the route of this kind of ecig (and im sure they will be disapointed with it after a short while) then i would go for something with a PCC (personal charging case) as those batteries dont last long at all, even with 2 of them!

Check this out: Electronic Cigarettes, Electric Cigarettes - ROK Universal

Not sure if these are available in the USA but i thought they look really attractive and pretty good value, especially because it has the PCC with it. It even looks like a 20 deck of cigarettes

Green World has the best 2 piece eCig I have found. I started with a KR808-d and it was OK but I bought a Green World G300 kit about 3 weeks ago and WOW! the diference in vapor and flavor. The quality of theses is incredable. I refill them by driping into the battery end and 3 to 5 drops gives me about 3 hours of vapor. They never "burn" the way 808's do and I can refill them for a long time. I bought 10 carts and have only used 5 so far. (3 weeks).

I started out with a Joye 510 but before the first month was done I got sick of the short battery life. I bought a PCC but it was a pain having to constantly charge. So, I bought an eGo 1000ma battery and charger. I use it most of the time now and take it and my 510 with PCC when I am going to be out for a while. The eGo will go all day with no problem. I also got a USB passthru to keep in my vehicle. I know that, for me, what I thought was going to be good enuff turned out not to be. I like using cartos so i do not have to fill all the time. I am eagerly awaiting the eGo tank atomizer now! :)

And i was smoking at about the same level as you when I made the switch to a PV. (bout a half pack a day)

Decide if you think you want carts or cartomizers (in the New Member sticky threads watch the Newbie videos and follow the thread with Library in its title to a multipart illustrated guide)

Carts means you buy less stuff and reuse it longer but you need to take care of the atomizers
Cartomizers means you need to buy blank or prefilled cartomizers - more work to fill but lasts longer than filling a cart (maybe 5-10 cigs worth rather than 2-4) but cartomizers don't last as long as atomizers - you can get some number of refills then they die or get singed and you throw them out.

Of the two models mentioned above, 510 is a cart+atty unit and you can buy blank cartomizers for it, and KR808D-1 aka Smoketip aka Vapor4Life is a cartomizer unit and nothing else unless you put another model's atomizer on it.

There are smaller ecigarettes, slim as a cigarette and length of a king or 100, but most people give up on those within a month - just too weak and too annoying to fill.

Well, you might want to try this out. I've heard good things about them and they sell pre-filled cartomizers. Although it's really not "cigarette like", I would go with the manual batteries. Pressing the button on the battery becomes second nature. BTW, if they tell you that a cartomizer is equivalent to a pack of cigarettes, don't believe it. You didn't say what brand cigarettes you were smoking. All brands are not created equal as far as nicotine content go. You might need cartos in 6mg-12mg or you might need to get some at 18mg.

I went with the joye 510 to use at home for dripping juices. Also bought a Riva 510 since I do alot of driving and did not want the inconvenience of battery charging thru the day. I like them both and spent about 100 on both with juices and extra cartos at Liberty-Flights which was the best prices I found and great company reviews. 20% off your whole order!

Hey woogs,
You might not want to rule out the EGO. The battery life expectancy is much longer compared to the pencil shaped PVs. I've got the Joye 510. I bought it instead of the EGO for precicely the same reason you mentioned. The darn EGO just looked silly to me. However, from what I have been reading, over the long haul, you will be spending a lot more replacing burned out batteries with cigarette shaped PVs.

Even the cig shaped ones are heavier and somewhat harder to handle than a real cig.

no, I get that. like I said, I had tried the riva.. the shape/size were fine, just hoping there was something with a touch more vapor. I could just order the riva, since it's ok for me- just thought there was something I could get between riva and say, the mods, the ego's, etc. just don't wnt something that doesn't have the shape.... the weight isn't as big of a deal.

Hey woogs,
Welcome to the forum!
IMHO, the kr808D-1 is the e-cig that I suggest. A bit longer than a "100" analog, two piece device(batt and cartomizer), easy to use and versatile. It can be used as a two piece, as intended, or you can also buy a 901 atomizer and use it to drip with. I have a kr808 and with decent e-juice it gives a great TH and will provide clouds of vapor. Starter kits are relatively inexpensive(around $30 at litecigusa.net or madvapes.com).
I bought this unit as my starter for almost the same reasons you are describing. You will probably want to buy a different PV later on as you become more experienced with the vaping concept.
You'll get a variety of opinions from members of the forum, since they all seem to be a loyal bunch when it comes to their PV and favorite vendors. Hope it doesn't make it harder for you to come to a decision.
Read DonDaBoomVape's thread "The Wonderful World Of Vaping in the ECF Library. He also has a thread suggesting the best starter e-cig(tie between kr808 & Joye 510).
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck in your future vaping endeavors.

While I use a variety of different brands, as far as cig-lookalikes, I really like Modern Vapor's 902 line. I got a starter kit plus extra batteries and a USB charger. However, I am totally over having to fill carts, so now I put clearomizers (from Volcano) on my 902 batts and love it. The amount of vapor and flavor is really nice. When I am out in the world, I prefer the auto batteries b/c I can hold it a little bit like an elongated cigarette from pics from the 1920s... I know, weird, but I kinda like it.
