I'm sure this has been asked before, but please help.

what is a good tank (that won't break the bank!) and carto setup for thick juices such as Bobas Bounty?

in the past I tried a Boge F17 tank, with Boge dual punched cartos. I sold it!

although the flavor and Convenience were nice. I just couldn't get the same throat hit that I am able to Achieve with my clearos.

any links or suggestions would be awesome!

Where you least expect it....
With a thick VG based eliquid like Boba's Bounty. A dual punched cartomizer like the one you had with your previous setup is fine. If you find that wicking is still a problem. Then you always have the option of punching one more hole. Just be careful, since that can lead to wicking issues.

As for the tank, you can pick anyone of them and achieve the same results. Since a cartomizer tank is only as good as the cartomizer that you use in it. In addition, you have to use the correct ohms with it's corresponding voltage in order to achieve the warmth/throat hit that you want..e.g. 1.5 ohms/3.7V

If a cartomizer tank isn't your cup of tea. Then you can get an atomizer tank or a rebuildable atomizer system.

Thanks Unforeseen! I don't think a RBA would be my cup of tea at this point. As much as I would like one, between work and my little ones, the extra time is hard to find.

Are attomizer tanks pretty user friendly? If you could recommend a good attomizer tank setup, that would be outstanding!

Thanks a million!

Atomizer tanks are not user friendly at all. They just don't work very well (yet). If you want to use a thicker juice (like Boba's) then your best bet is to use a carto tank with two or three punches. I have also had pretty good luck with the iClear 30 as well. For optimal performance you should look into a bottom feeder such as a Reo Grand, but that is expensive. Remember that Boba's will severely shorten the life of any atomizer you use with it. It clogs cartos and gunks up coils very fast.

+1111111111 BB clogs up my evod/protank heads within 2 days, whereas my other non BB juices can go at least a week on the same head. I carto will last a 2-3 days at most with BB. Pisses me off but it's so tassstttyyy!

The problem with Boba's Bounty and some other thick juices and cartomizers is these juices often have high amounts of particulate matter in the juice which quickly clogs the polyfiller and causes a hard draw, quickly reducing the effectiveness of the cartomizer. Just adding additional holes to the carto is only marginally helpful.

A far better solution would be to use a juice delivery device that uses no wicking material at all. A dripping atomizer is an option, but if you find that to be inconvenient for everyday use, you can use one on a bottom feeding mod such as a Vapage VMod or Reo. Then you get the benefits of the full flavor and non-wicking issues of an atomizer combined with the all day convenience of a tank.

Don't need to punch additional holes. Just used the punch and line it up with existing holes and punch a bigger hole.

Hmmmmm Vmod isn't terribly expensive. What kinda atomizer do these use? At work once again, hard to search!

I've been using the atomizer that my VMod XL came with. It's been going strong with daily use for about two months now. I'm pretty sure that you can use any of the 510 thread atomizers in it. There's a long thread in the bottom feeder sub-forum on the VMod if you need more specific info on this. I really like my VMod; I use it and my Mini Provari for out-and-about use. Very pocket-worthy mod.

Thanks Batitude. I'm going to look into the Vmod. Do you get the same strong throat hit, and plumes of vapor that say...the Evod delivers?

Yes you do. There's a slight learning curve learning just how much of a squeeze on the juice bottle delivers the right amount of juice to the drip well. You then do a "primer puff" to get juice into the atomizer, and then you are free to do a few vapes before needing to refill the atty. Here's a very good review:

Awesome Baditude! Thanks man. One more question...do you think it's necessary to get the full kit if I already have batteries and chargers? I'm just not sure if the accessories should all be made by Vapage. Thanks again!

I purchased my VMod in the a la cart. This included the VMod, a hybrid atomizer, a silo cartomizer, and two drip tips. I got this during a sale for $60. I already had 18650 Aw IMR 2000 mAh batteries that I use in this that last me two days. I only have to refill the tank once a week (9ml tank).

Nice. So an 18650 will fit in the vmod? I was just browsing a few threads and most seemed to be saying the vmod would only hold 14500 batteries. But hey if youve got a 18650 in yours, ill take your word for it! Thanks again Bad!

The are two sizes of VMOds.

The VMod 2.0 http://www.vapage.com/Vapage_V_MOD_2_0_p/vpk-007-008.htm is a smaller version that takes a 14500 battery and uses a built-in 4 ml juice bottle (2 included).

The larger version is the VMod XL http://www.vapage.com/Vapage_V_MOD_XL_p/vpk-0245xl.htm that takes an 18650 battery and uses a 9 ml juice bottle (2 included).

The kits for either include a battery and charger. "A la carte" gets you everything but the charger and battery.

Baditude, I was just wondering what is or are the advantages of using a carto tank over a vmod? The vmod looks beast and wanted to know if the carto tanks had any advantages over it.

Well, you can put a cartotank on whatever battery device you wish, and its easy to switch tanks on a tube mod. By that I mean, the VMod is a fixed voltage mechanical mod, so if you are someone who likes to change voltages to suit the flavor you are using, you can't do that with the VMod. The VMod-XL has been modded to use a Kick by a few vapors, but I don't think I'll ever go that route.

The VMod has the removable built-in juice tank, but it is more effort to change out tanks with different flavors for the VMod than it would be to change flavors in multiple cartotanks. The entire VMod has to be disassembled to change tanks, not that it's that difficult to do, but it is more work than just changing carotanks on a tube mod.

I just learned that you can drip different flavors directly on the atty on the VMOd; a simple concept that I never thought of myself until another ECF member suggested that I could.
