Hi folks , i always use a 1/16th drill bit but was curious to know would using a larger diameter be advantageous for a typical kayfun build ? I know PT's need a small bit since less room , i'm using 28 gauge for the kayfun and 32 gauge for the PT's .

Does going larger increase flavor or quality or is it simply related to ohm's only?

Thank you

I have never done a Protank rebuild so I can't comment on that.

I've done a number of Kayfun and Aqua RBA (dual coil Kayfun type) builds and I prefer bigger diameter coils in these attys. I don't know why, but they just work better for me than micro coils. A 1/8" diameter drill bit for a cotton wick coil is where I'm at right now. I use 27 gauge Kanthal and wrap for around 1 ohm for the Kayfun.

The Kayfun doesn't like to go too low in resistance. I've been successful down to about 0.8 ohms, but 1 ohm is more dependable for me. Flavor and TH are wonderful and vapor is good.

For the Protank unless your using cotton you don't need one. Just a very thin piece of wire like a tiny paperclip or a 1/32 bit. Thats just so you can keep the wick in place when wrapping it. If you want to use cotton on the Protank use a bit about the size of 2.5mm 3/32". For the Kayfun if you go single coil go with 3mm -1/8" for dual coil 2-2.5mm 3/32". The reason I like metric is that you can get more choice in sizes IMO. OH a 12 ga needle works for kayfun dual coils too.
