From all my research, it seems that an e-go is the best place for me to start. There are so many suppliers and so many configurations of starter kits that it's still boggling my mind. So I thought I'd ask here.

I'd also like to find the best supplier with the best price. I see them starting at $49.99 and up.

Any recommendations?

Thank!

I bought the joyetech eGo-T kit and have been quite pleased. 2 batteries, 2 attys and several tips and caps. Instruction manual came with it but those are unfamiliar to most men such as myself. Anyway, great kit to start. Have had mine for nearly 2 weeks and totally dropped analog cigarette the day I got it. I also bought an adjustable voltage battery and 3 bottles (10ml) and got out for under 100 bucks. Hope this helps.

You might want to do more research. In the same physical size/price/category model as the eGo, there is the Kgo and E-Power. They are both true 3.7 volt/1000+ mAh batteries where as the eGo is only 3.4 volts and comes standard with the less powerful 650 mAh battery. Higher voltage and higher mAh batteries provide longer performance and warmer vapor. Even mini-battery models like the regular 510 have higher voltage than the eGo. And you don't have to pay extra for better batteries (mAh) with these two as you have to do with the eGo.

I second the kGo or ePower as the better choice over the eGo.
A few of the best vendors for them are Crystalclearvaping.com, Hoosierecigs.com, Darkcityvapors.com, Sweet-Vapes.com

Get the kit with atomizer, pick up a pack of low resistance 2ohm Boge cartomizers and some juice and you'll be on your way.

Crystalclearvaping has the e-Power 14650 full kit with cartomizers, free shipping and juice for about $57 shipped. If you add it all up, that's probably the best deal. The other vendors have the kGo for the best prices. With the kit, try to get the one that includes atomizers and buy your cartomizers separately because the atomizers cost more and you'll need them anyway.

Thanks for all the input...you are all so sweet for helping me out. I picked up a small rechargable one (now have 3 batteries) at the gas station months ago and just started hacking the atomizers by refilling them with juice myself this week. The two hour charge had been driving me crazy. It's about time a got a "real" one lol. I'll be looking into the kgo and the ePower as soon as I get off of here:)

I'm fairly new to this, but just my 2 cent.....

I recently got a joyetech ego-c starter kit (2 batteries, 2 atty heads, pack of atties and charger). The taste wasn't great, so I tried a Vision Clearomiser, and it is sooooo much better than using atty heads that come with the ego-c starter pack. More vapour, more flavour and no leaking. If I could go back in time, I never would have brought the starter pack; I would have just got a couple of good quality batteries, a charger and some clearomisers.

Liberty Flights has a Echo Ego 900 mah kit with carts for 39.99 and if you click on the 20% off button at the top it's only 32.99.E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings I have found it's cheaper to buy everything together than to buy it piece by piece.I have bought the echo kits before and they work very well.Good Luck

My friend recommended buying my e-cig piece by piece. I bought 2 joyetech 1000 mah batteries, 3 eGo vision clearomizers, usb charger and wall adapter as well as 4 bottles of 10ml e-juice...this came to $98, a little pricey, but I got a solid unit and nothing that I didn't need and nothing that will need to be upgraded...hope this helps Skydancer.

The echo is o.k. if you must have an automatic battery. But remember, it's only 3.4 volts and 900mah.
Manual batteries give you much better control over your vape as well.

Check out Pbusardos review of the kGo on Youtube.
It's the unit he recommends for newbies, and not without good reason.

If you get a kGo atomizer kit, or an e-Power kit at CCV, it's cheaper than buying the parts individually and you don't get anything you won't use.
In the case of the kgo, 2 batteries, charger and 2 atomizers and drip tips. You need and use it all.
Same thing with the e-Power, unless you have a charger or some batteries laying around.
It's always cheaper to buy the kit if you don't have any other parts already.
Even if you do, you are getting the extras practically free anyway.

How big of a disadvantage is it to use an automatic battery as opposed to a manual battery apart from replacing the battery after a year or two?

LOL seems like there's some hard selling used car salesmen on this forum.

Anyway, another for your consideration: Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Smok Tech EGO

It's got everything you need except the juice. It's even got the 3.7v batteries that the yokels like to hoot & holler about.

You can get the 650mah kit for $37.99 Or the longer battery life 900mah kit for $2 more.

They're available with single or dual coil cartomizerss. I'd recommend the dual coil.

Hit the 20% off button in the upper left to make them even cheaper.

Grab a bottle of juice or two and you're good to go.

Well, lets see: with the autos you have a cut-off of the battery if you take too long of a draw, they are not sealed like manuals so if any liquid leaks into it, it's dead and you have less control of the warmth of the vapor.

With manuals, you can pre-heat the eliquid before you inhale, there is no cut-off, the battery is sealed so you have no fear of killing it with an eliquid leak.

Why do you think about 95% of ECF vapers use manual batteries.
