I am looking for an eGo alternative compatible with 510 atomizers. I am basically tired of going through many unreliable eGo batteries and chargers, and like the idea of using rechargeable AW 18650 batteries.

I see some things like the E-Power and and Indulgence, but I'm put off by mixed reviews, and short warranties.

Looking for something at relatively low-cost, of course, otherwise it would defeat the purpose. I don't need variable voltage, or even anything like tanks - my needs are very simple - I only drip, and I just basically need a reliable eGo that can handle good low-resistance 510-compatible atties.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Personal opinion of course, but the best 3.7v 18650 mod is and always will be the Silver Bullet from Altsmoke.com.
If the $85 price tag turns you off, the Bolt is a cheaper knock off of the SB.

Very cool suggestion, thanks, I'll research these models! These look like exactly what I had in mind, though I see they have only 30-day warranties - my guess is that is pretty much the standard for mods like this, though.

I drip and i have been in the same boat jplanet, and lately i have been using an eGo passthru that i've had in my drawer for a year, to use my LR attys. I have a couple VV mods that i use SR mostly, but I've been turned on to some Cisco LR's and even HH357LR 1.5's on my eGo and my Reo bottom feeder. excellent vapes.

I too don't want the 18650 ego or the epower much... but i did just order a genuine joyetech 1100 mah p/t from gotvapes, and Hoosierecig has a nice 3.7 true voltage KGO batt that looks really good. ( i'll have to use close to SR attys for the 3.7v probably).

the thing i don't like about SB or Bolt or Roughstack maxi is no drip well.... the ego is cheaper so big deal if no d/w.

I hear that good ego and ego clones (that are good) are regulated 3.3v, and a good LR atty can match up really good with that. The KGO is true 3.7v and the SB with a IMR AW 18650 gives up 3.4 or 3.5v... hoosier has a video on that. If you ask me 3.4 or 3.5 is fantastic with the right LR atty's.

510/510 shorty adapter and a drip shield takes care of it for any of those three. You might have to turn the nut on the RS a little bit to get a drip shield to sit all the way down, but even if you don't get it to sit quite flush with the top cap, it won't leak.

Another quality 18650 tube (that does have a drip well) is the Kalamazoo Triple-v non-5.0v version. Cozzcon has a video review of his non-5.0v version there is also a lot to be said for the 5.0v version. 3.0 and 3.2 ohm attys really get going strong on 5.0v and batt life with a pair of IMR 18350s is very good and maybe even excellent.

Depending on what you like, it might be worthwhile to consider a vv device like the lava tube. Personally, I'm pretty happy at 3.7 volt so I just picked up a bolt from vapor beast. I'm happy with it, but it is a bare bones device that might not suit everyone. If you want to use any of the ego type cartos with it, you'll need to pick up an ego adapter for it. I got the adapter at gotvapes along with some stardust cartos and that's what I'm vaping now. :vapor:

p.s. I think there's also a vv version of the bolt if you can find it stocked. Also, the ego adapter from gotvapes is threaded for the cone, so you can use an ego cone as long as you're using a standard size atty or carto.

You speak from experience six; thanks... lots to think about there.
I noticed the Triple V 3.7/6 mod recommends protected batts.... hmmm. I like IMR AW for my LR attys, which is what i am focusing on lately. Does it matter? I emailed Kalamazoo about it. At $80 it should be good and it looks it, but I am looking at simple dripping on a 3.7 mod... gotta think about that.

great tips for drip leaks ....I like the black delrin shield i have but forgot where the hell i got it from... goes on easy... it seems shorter than the Empire (but i had trouble with that one) and i have the black delrin working very nicely on a HH357 901 (on the VVPV).

    This is my dedicated "dripper"

    P1000551.jpg

SB from Altsmoke, IMR 18500 battery, Kick by Evolv, drip shield from Empire, and I don't care what resistance the atty is. The kick is adjusted to 8 watts, and that's where they all hit.

Thanks for all the suggestions, you've all given me a good place to start with research.

I like the Bolt, but see that it's not regulated and doesn't have any kind of automatic shut-off. I recently had that issue with eGo battery, which fried two atties, and was kind of scary!

What about this XL3 from Discount Vapers? Looks like a nice eGo-type PV that takes an 18650, and is also VV for only $29.99:

The new E-Powers have no issues as the early problem last year with the first run button has been solved.

But if you want one with the best warranty on the market, then you want the GLV2. It has a lifetime warranty and has a legion of satisfied users. I personally would get the 5 volt but he sells both 3.7v and 5.0v:

I checked on SmokTech and the Epowers and there is a message that they are unavailable while Quality Control issues are being worked out - could this be an old page, and there is a newer product available form somewhere else?

    E-Power 18650 Complete Kit- Massive 2200mAh Power!

The GLV2 looks very impressive - I suppose there are some expensive units like that, and the Provari range, which of course offer good warranties...I suppose that the Provape 1's pricing now might be worth it...
