I was wondering the same thing. From what I have herd, most use a 2 part that they mix together like jb. I myself have never used jb for anything other than fusing metal parts together. There is a 2 part epoxy that I picked up from the dollar store once that worked fairly well. I used it to hold a door in place, in the place I was renting. The landlord never said anything so I assume it held and was $1.14 well spent.

Incredibly strong and cures clear. Couple of things that increase it's holding power....rough the surfaces so there's add'l contact to grip and clean with a qtip and alcohol to get all the grease from handling off, and if possible, install a delrin tube for the connector. Not only is it bonded to the box, but the delrin gives it massive holding power.

Here's an example:

Also provides a perfect spot to place a magnet to hold the back on

With the Mini Mods, strength when reassembling 4 pieces is critical....it holds

....last tip is let it cure for 24 hours before handling and moving on to the next assembly step. It sets in 15 minutes, but it's not cured until the next day. Patience in assembly will pay long term dividends in how it holds up to every day use. Everyone has their own preference; this is the one that works for me

Hope this helps

JB qwik is great. It doesn't cure clear, but it is very strong and sets very quick, hence the name. Its also very pliable which I've found is very important for these types of projects. It doesn't flow like water like some epoxys. It is like a thin paste so it is easy to spread around, but it won't run or drip on its own.
