Oh, here's a tip to prolong the bonds, put little wadded chunks of paper towel in your mod and change them weekly.

That's actually not a half bad solution. I'll probably try to change it more often than that though.

I also put a bead of liquid super glue around the connector. I'm hopeful the super glue will act as a sealant. We'll see...
