I did a search but couldn't really find a thread on this (though I'm sure there are some). For those who've tried everything: what atomizer gives the best flavor?

I have a 401 & a RN-4072 (like an 801), like coffee/chocolate flavors (and the occasional mint) and don't do high voltage. Happy with what I have but I'm wondering if I should branch out. :p Thanks for any input.

I have to agree with RIMP....I have tried 801 and 901....But i always come back to the 510...The 510 is a workhorse and the TH is great.....If you do decide to go the 510 round, just make sure you get an authentic JOYE atty.....
Just checked and my usual supplier does have the JOYEs. Thanks for the tip, been reading about all the dead/dying 501s but wasn't sure which ones were the culprits, guess it's the no-name ones.

I've read repeatedly that the 501 gives a lot of vapor at the expense of flavor.
I've read that too, it's kinda why I was asking. I have a 501 box mod that I'm currently using with an adapter, so I could certainly get some 501 stuff to try it out, but I've seen a lot who say the flavor is lacking.

First, taste is subjective. Second, flavor objectively responds to temperature just like in food. Some flavors respond to more heat, some are subdued by it. The 510 atty (all else being equal - voltage/airflow) runs warmer than other atomizers with the 801 style being one of the coolest. Coffee flavored eliquid responds well to the heat of the 510. I have yet to find a good chocolate flavored eliquid - but Totally Wicked's Red Label and DV's Chocolat au Lait do better on my 510's vs the 801. Mint and menthol is usually so permeating that they do well on both. Cherry, apple, Berries, vanilla are subdued by the 510 heat and open up with the 801. Strong tobacco flavors open up with the 510 and imo, close down with the 801.

When you read that people say that 510 subdues flavors, it is many times people who like the 801 or 901 and vape the lighter flavors. Such generalizations are worthless unless someone says what flavors are vaped and what they are comparing it too.

What is really worthless is for someone who has never tried a 510 or 801 or 901 or cartridge and only reports what they have 'read' - iow, they have done nothing more than you could have done. Invariably, those that have never tried anything other than what they have somehow find theirs is 'best' - a judgment that is more reflecting of having to justify their own purchase rather than any true 'comparison' which needs at least 2 different models for it to make any sense at all. A person can 'like' the KR8, for example, and it can serve their needs well, but if that's the only thing they've tried then 'best' tells you more about them than any product.

Excellent food for thought, thanks! Sounds like I should give the 510 stuff a shot & just see if I like it.

Good point also, can't say I remember if the people complaining give those kinds of details.

Thanks, Kent

Just about the best post I've seen on the whole forum.

I've felt like a leper for not liking the 510, and now I know why, it all makes sense

510s are good, but with high failure rate. Some topics were posted here.

Do you have any statistics on this? ...or just that you saw 'some topics' posted? Did you know that the 510 tops the polls on what is used here, not just by individual models but with mods as well? That's like saying there is more people dissatisfied with Photoshop vs. Microsoft Paint.

Whether that's tongue in cheek or not I'm glad you no longer feel like a leper. ;-) And it is true that if you're vaping Only fruit and berry flavors, the 510 isn't the best choice unless you use adapters. Adapters certainly widen the choice all around and when you want flavor for All flavors - strong or light, the 510 with an adapter for the 901 is an excellent choice.

This is what I have and exactly what I've found, also using the adapter is a much cheaper way to try out other units lol - my fruitier flavors (I finally found some to try lol) seem to prefer the softer touch of the 901 (battery adapters ftw) but the more robust (the majority of my flavors, inc tobaccos) prefer the 510.
I got the adapter and 901 atty from madvapes btw - all my 510 stuff (bar a couple of attys when my normal supplier was out of stock) came from cignot.

You're good to go. I happened to have gotten some Janty STicks with the 801 atty early on and the lighter flavors do well on those too. I do have a 901 and use it occasionally when I pop it on a mega or a mod for some black currant, black cherry, peach cobbler.
