I have smoke Virginia Slim Menthol Full Flavor, for too many years, so I am very picky about my Menthol flavoring. Salem’s, or Kools, do not satisfy my mint flavor preference. So I was wondering if anyone could share with me the type of Menthol Brand they use, and what flavor it taste like, and where you purchased it from?

For example, does it taste like a Wintergreen Mint flavor, or a Peppermint flavor, ora Spearmint flavor, or a Doublemint flavor, ora Polar Mint flavor, ora Creme De Menthe flavor, or a Mentholatum-Eucalyptus Mint flavor, ora Vick Mint flavor, or what? I am interested in finding a Doublemint flavor or Polar Mint flavor, and maybe a Creme De Menthe flavorforlater on. Right now my focus is in finding the Doublemint flavor or Polar Mint flavor juice.

Thank you for any information, in regards to Menthol Flavoring!

Happy Vaporing!:)

I smoked menthols for over 40 years--some of that Va Slims, until the price went up one time too many and I switched to Mistys. And I couldn't stand any other brand, so I do know what you are talking about.

I don't really think there is a menthol juice that will taste exactly like any menthol cigarette, because so much of the taste of a cigarette is the smoke, and there *is* no smoke with vaping.

VaporTalk's Mentha and LiquidXpress' Cool Rush are both very good, very strong menthol tastes, and my personal favorites. You can also get menthol drops or crystals and add them to tobacco-flavored juice to suit your own taste. Mixing Lorann's Creme de Menthe flavoring with unflavored juice and VG also makes a very good minty vape--not menthol, but minty.

But trust me--and this is from someone who was rabidly attached to her menthol cigarettes--there is a *whole world* of flavors out there, and you are about to enter it;).

Once your taste buds come back, you can discover how wonderful all those other flavors are.

Polar Mint from freshsmoking.com is a Janty/Joye type juice that is a double mint. In fact, they sell it as 'polar mint' but some bottles are labeled "D-Mint" - but they're both the same flavor:

I was a Salem smoker before I went MYO (make your own) and there I added some menthol as well. When I first started vaping I liked the blast from polar mint, Janty's menthol and then tried their Newport which was tobacco and menthol and liked that even better to where the polar mint and menthol got to strong. Then the Newport started to get too strong too, (a bit later - I think it was taste buds waking up - which for me happened about the 3rd to 4th week.) Now I'll even add some tobacco flavor to the Newport which lessens the menthol. Nhaler's 'NUPORT' is also a good, tobacco based menthol. Just for later consideration. For the moment, you'll enjoy the blast from polar mint.

Thank you again, for all your wonderful information! I think that I might be happier with the taste of both the menthol and tobacco together.

I was never able to smoke Salems, they were too strong, to harsh for me.

Happy Vapering!

The menthol drops or crystals are just flavoring you add to the e-juice. JUICYLIQUID has them. And a little goes a loooong way, too--but you can adjust it to where you like it.

Like Kent said, after a while, your taste buds come back to life and it starts tasting really strong. You will be surprised;)

I personally enjoy menthol liquids that are actually menthol and not mint or spearmint as most seem to end up tasting like.

Totally Wicked's menthol tasted like wintergreen gum to me, and was at times overbearing if I didn't cut it with some glycerin.

LiteCigUSA has an Arctic Mint and Double Mint that are probably right up your alley. I haven't personally tried those (just their regular menthol liquid) and it was pretty good as far as performance and the taste was what I have come to expect from menthol labeled juices.

On the other end of the spectrum is Vapor Talk Mentha. Sorry PureSmoker, I love you guys, but this is the true menthol. I've smoked several menthol liquids from various suppliers (MVS, LiteCigUSA, PS, TW) and this is the closest in taste to an actual menthol cigarette. It doesn't taste like any particular brand to me (I used to smoke Camel Lite Menthols and the occasional Newport or American Spirit Menthol), but there's some indescribable backflavor that I've never found in another juice and it just seems right. The level of menthol is perfectly balanced, plus they do a great mix that produces huge plumes of vapor.

[FONT="]Thanks Daedalus! I will have to try that 'Artic Mint' and 'Double Mint' flavoring.

I have what the doctor calls super-sensitive 'taste buds' and 'smell' abilities. So what is confusing me, is when people say it "taste like a true menthol cigarette" All 'menthol' cigarette's have a particular 'mint' flavor. Kool Menthols taste different from Salem Menthols, and those tasted different from the Virginia Slim Menthols.

When someone tells me it taste like a 'mint', I just assume they mean a ‘Peppermint’ flavoring. Mind you, all these 'mint' flavors can be either mild or strong in their flavor.

So when you say it taste closes to a 'menthol' cigarette, are you saying it has a peppermint flavoring?

Again, thank you for your input, I really appreciate it!

Happy Vaporing!

I guess you could call it peppermint. I compared the smell of it to some Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap and it's very close.

But what I truly mean is that other menthol/mint juices are just pure mintiness and not at all like a menthol cigarette where you have the tobacco and menthol flavors intertwining. The Vapor Talk juice has something else, and I don't even know what to call it, that makes it closer to that flavor a menthol analog delivers. It's not necessarily tobacco-y, though I'm sure mixed with some flu-cured juice it would be an even greater facsimile.

PurKat- do a forum search on Pyramid Tea Bags. They're made by Lipton and so far they are the best thing I've found for filling a cart. I didn't like the factory stuffing because little strands would break loose and burn and taste horrible. Regular teabags were better, but they don't last for long and stop wicking well after a day or 2. Coffee Filters were the same way. The pyramid tea bags are mesh and don't burn, wick well, and can be washed and used over and over again.

Daedalus, I love your description, when you compared Vapor Talk ‘Mentha’ flavor to the Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap . That is close enough for me. HA!

I am learning not all of the ‘menthol’ flavors have both the ‘tobacco’ and ‘menthol’ flavors intertwining, that some ‘menthol’ flavors are just straight ‘menthol’ flavor, with no ‘tobacco’ flavor mixed in with it.

There is so much to learn. I am discovering this Vaporing is a whole other world, and not at all like analogs.

Thanks Daedalus! I really appreciate your input!

Happy Vaporing!

Moonflame, I had no seen the word ‘Pyramid’ written with ‘teabag’. Still a bit confusing, but I will do the search, and find out more.

Thanks for the input!
