I recently got some 32 gauge kanthal wire and 2 mm silica wick and decided to try my hand at learning to rebuild protank coils and I have a IGO L on the way.

Im kinda confused about how many wraps I need to get about 1.5 ohms. I'm not ready to attempt micro coils or anything like that and was just wondering what is a simple way to do this. I do plan to gradually move up but just starting it simple.

Thanks!

A 3/4 wrap should get around 1.5 ohms. 32 gauge is 13.75 ohms/ft, so cut a little more than 1.5" or 2" and it will get around 1.5 ohms.

I get 1.7 with a 5/6 wrap and around 1.5 with a 4/5 wrap with 32gauge, you might want to double check that on a meter! A 3/4 wrap, which I'm running on my IGO-L right now, is 1.2.

edit: that is with 3mm silica.
