I would suggest spending some time reading on different mods. While there is no best mod as everyone has what they prefer, it is better and safer for a new vaper to start out with a regulated vv/vw device as they have built in safeties that mech mods do not have.

Something like the istick could run what you are wanting to use and offer all the safety and convenience that vw has

Have you read up on battery safety, Ohm's Law, Amp draw, etc. and know how they all work together to vape safely?

If not, you would be better served by using a regulated vv/vw mod.

In addition, with a mechanical mod the only way to "fine tune" your vape is to change your stock coil or build a new coil. With a high vv/vw regulated mod (and its buck/boost circuitry) you can "fine tune" with a push of a button. On a mechanical mod your voltage drops as you vape, with a regulated mod this does not happen. Your first hit is just as good as your last hit.

Welcome caroline!

Do you know which Aspire tank? There are a few different ones.

VV/VW - Variable Voltage/Variable Wattage - basically regulated mods. They will provide constant power, based on your setting, until the charge on the battery gets too low to continue to fire at that level. Mechanical mods will taper over time, based on the charge level on the battery. They might not "shut off", so it's possible to over-drain the battery.

I found an inexpensive mech at Hoosierecig (Smok Galileo). It's a bottom switch mod, and it's telescopic, so you can use 18350, 18500, or 18650 batteries with it.

Glad you're here - hopefully some others will come along to help you out!

I would highly suggest you listen to these two. Always better safe than sorry.

There is a lot more to learn about Mechanical Mods than there is in Variable Devices but each have safety concerns that you should learn before you advance in vaping. I would highly recommend a variable device over a mechanical. I would recommend a device that is at least 50 watts. A variable device is simple to use and you can find your best settings in literally minutes.

The Robot V comes with a kick , it's a module that turns a mech in to a VW device , so in essence if your boyfriend is using the kick that came with it , it is a VW regulated device , if you can learn how to it operate with the kick in place it's not a bad choice , just be aware there's better to be had both in regulated and mechanical mods but pure mechanical mods are not for beginners . I'd suggest you stick around and do some research on ECF before you make a decision .

i guess if i knew what to set the VV/VW at the get the best flavor and vapor then i wouldnt mind using one of those. what VV mods do yall suggest? and what tank/clearomizer?

As I said in my first post I would go with something like the istick, I personally have an istick 30 in my rotation. One of the things with vv/vw is you put your topper on it start at the lowest setting and turn it up slowly til you find your sweet spot

im not really a new vaper. ive been vaping on and off for around 4 years. i just made an account here and its making me post my first 7 posts in the beginners forums. i know how to rebuild coils, i just dont know what the set the VV/VW mods at. ive been using the robot v and the atlantis aspire for around 6 months now and havent had any problems with it. personally i like the mech mods better than a vv/vw. ive found the vv/vw mods dont make as much vapor as the mech mods do. if i knew how to get a vw mod to hit like a mech mod then i might try one.

I have an aspire elite kit with the cf maxx battery and the aspire mega. Then bought a stillare clone dripper for it which was bored out to be the same diameter in the draw hole... Had to let juice steep in the tank for a while but I finally got the kinks worked out on it, it gives airy hits on the tank but on the dripper with a 0.25 dual coil 26 GA kanthal build it hits like a champ, it'll choke me. But in saying that I also have a kanger emow mega BVC coil with a 1600mah evodvv batt that gives thick plumes just takes longer to get there and it gives a cooler vape at the same time and better flavor. Kinda torn, I have a cf sub ohm battery coming in the mail with a kanger subtank mini so I'll let you know how that goes lol edit.. The atlantis mega is running a 0.3 ohm coil with the four hole configuration and the Kanger evodvv is running the 1.8 ohm coil. I tried the 0.8 ohm coil on the Kanger thinking it would help but the battery just can't keep up.

It has to be built properly.

More to building then just wrapping coils.

Look up an ohms law calculator.

Best Mechinical? There is quite a few that are good and quite a few are junk...lol

Dont take this personally but before you buy any mech. mod you should learn about batteries, ohms law and multi-meters Most of the posts to your thread state this. Its good information that alot of new vapors over look until something bad happens. Everybody here wants you to be safe :)

A mech mod is just a fancy battery holder and switch that your atomizer screws onto. Your batteries are the most important part. Good genuine batteries work the best and there is alot of fake/junk batteries out there. So research is a must. A good charger and meter must too.

If you are going to use a nautilus or any other tank it can be done mech but you will probably enjoy your vape more using a Kick with mech. What type of budget are you looking to spend?

Look at the iStick 30 watt or the CoolFire 4 (40 watt) with a Mini Subtank.

    * The iStick 30 watt is a great little mod. Comes in 4 colors. Performs very well. Although I don't have the 30 watt I do have a few 20 & 50 watt.

    * The Innokin CoolFire 4 is very new and is just hitting the market. It comes in 6 beautiful colors and is getting great reviews from youtube reviewers. I'm waiting to order a few of these.

    * The Mini Subtank will perform very well on either one of these mods. And additional benefit to this tank is that you can use stock coils AND it includes a rebuildable base so you can learn to wrap your own coils and save money in the long run. I have two of these tanks.

One of the things with vv/vw is you put your topper on it start at the lowest setting and turn it up slowly til you find your sweet spot

+1 on this. It's that easy!
