I used FA Mixed Berry with nothing else at a very low flavor percentage, and that flavor is STRONG, LOL. I can't quite seem to wrap my head around whether I like it or not, but it is VERY strong in flavoring, and I used a tiny percentage. I'm considering mixing some creams in it or custards to cut the sweetness, actually, but it IS very palate cleansing. It does taste like berries.... to a point. Some days I love it when I've been vaping other flavors too long and they "mute" but I'm not entirely sure I love it at this point, so may do some flavoring/experimenting... I'd be interested in a recommendation myself about what to add to it to make it slightly less cloying/overbearing, if anyone has one... But, this flavor was STRONG right out of the gate, and it's only getting stronger, I think. It does mostly taste like mixed berries, but there is some sort of "undercurrent" going on that I can't quite wrap my head around. I wonder if a chocolate/berry mix might work, I do have some coco in my flavoring stash... .IDK, seeking advice?

When I started I was strictly a TFA mixer but drifted away once I picked up some CAP's peanut butter, it was was so much closer to the real thing.

I spend a lot of time reading the DIY forum and some folks do excellent flavor comparisons so what the hell I have to try them out.

IDJoel turned me onto the Forest Fruit (big fan) and now I use it for balance on my berry mixes.

Only issue that I have now is the amount of flavors I have in the house ;)

Have you tried the FA vape Wizard or Magic Mask additives IDJoel? I think they are suppose to remove some sweetness, harshness, acidic/bitter notes Stols. Like an all in one mellower/mixer, helps somes flavours come to light by mellowing others etc. Never used them but some folks keep a bottle around, a few drops per 10ml or something.

I have, and have experimented with, MTS Vape Wizard. I was not impressed. I couldn't particularly notice a difference between the "with," and "without." Though, to be fair, I did not do a strict side-by-side, but rather one recipe first without, and then when that was gone, the same recipe with.

I have not tried the AAA Magic Mask.

I have used, and continue to use on occasion, TFA Smooth. That is another adjunct that is intended to soften some of the harsher notes. I hadn't thought about that for the Forest Mix; that might be worth trying with a small sample.

Thanks for the idea @Gramdogg.:thumb::D

Thanks Gramdogg... LOL, I am smelling my "Appalacia mix" I didn't have coco as I thought, and instead added some storebought coco, and it still smells totally foul. I wish I'd added some storebought brandy I had instead, as that is not sweet at all and actually has bitter notes.... I think it would have been a better choice in retrospect, but yes, I am going to have to expand on my flavorings somewhat I think, though I have a few I mixed up that I have hopes for.... Orange creamsicle being one of them.... We'll see. I'm going to let the berry mix steep for a while, before I even TRY to vape it... But I don't think the addition of coco was the best idea. Dark chocolate with some bitterness might have worked better. If it really sucks after that, I may try some of the above suggestions, since it's so.... interesting now, I just might have to play with it a little more. But I think it may end up down my sink's drain, based on what it smells like now, LOL.

I've had a few like TFA Mixed Berry and Blue Raspberry that were just god awful at any %... my review for Blue Raspberry was "Blue Raspberry Soap maybe?" After a month or so they were ok and I had to revise my review, I actually liked it then... odd flavour that takes getting used to. TFA Huckleberry is one of my favorites and it tastes like how gasoline smells to me lol.

Okay, I'm vaping my amended berry mix. I actually, since I didn't put that much coco in there, ended up using some of the storebought brandy flavor I have (I mixed it inside the tank). Next time I make mixed berry, I'm going to use something like a brandy flavoring in it, as it cut the sweetness a great deal. It still tastes a great deal like mixed berry, but the sour notes of the brandy vastly improved it. Will have to steep longer, and if I EVEN had room I'd consider throwing some brandy in there, but that would require some decanting into another bottle, and I'm just not up for that today, LOL. It's vastly improved (IMO) and certainly vapable, but I have DEFINITELY learned the power of FA mixed forest berry, that stuff is pungent, LOL.

It's not what I'd call a fantastic flavor, but I'm betting if I started over and just used all flavoring and let it steep properly, it would actually be good....

Okay, I really like this vape. I'm strongly considering separating it out into two bottles, and adding a percentage of my storebought brandy to each, letting it steep, and seeing what happens. The brandy helped things out immeasurably but I can still taste the berry with a hint of chocolate. It's good. :) I would definitely make it again, once I order more flavorings.... And I really thought my mixed berry was going to be a loss. I think I'd use a dark chocolate, not a coco next time, but it really is actually rather delicious... :)

What % did you use? I use 4-5% but my taste buds are horrible. I'm sure half that as a stand alone is plenty, most stuff I use double. I was using so much Ripe Banana when I got it that it separated from the VG, 5% is all it can handle so I added a little store bought Banana cream flavour 24mg juice as my nicotine (local shop has a buy 2 get 1 free that works out like $1 more then 25mg just nicotine equivalent... its great for bringing old flavours back to life) and add 5 drops of banana cream per 10ml on top of that. @IDJoel uses like 2% and thinks I'm crazy I'm sure :)

Well, I used about 2% mixed forest berry to start. It may have been slightly more as I was using drops not ml, and that flavor kinda drips fast, so I'd say it might have been closer to 2.5% It was OVERPOWERING from day one, LOL.

Then I had approx. 30 ml of the stuff (I vaped a few tanks) probably added 10 ml or so of coco flavor to the 30 ml of forest berry, and in my tank I probably used 1/3 brandy. So if I divide it, I would have about 20 ml in each bottle and would add 10 ml of storebought brandy to each.

Wow, I just used my math.... Thanks for the question, LOL. I'm definitely going to divide it up and do that, I think. The second bottle can just steep and I'll see how it is when it's really aged. I'm shocked actually, I thought my "Appalacia Mix" would be dreadful, but this is a flavor profile I think I would continue playing with (using actual flavors, not storebought juice). I wrote it down for posterity.

The vanilla ice cream ones (vanilla swirl) and marshmellows are fun to play with too if your like me and don't care for custards/creams. I mostly vape stand alones and menthols so its good when you get tried of the same flavours over and over again... turn them into an ice cream or even a frosted donut recipe for a month without needing 5 different things.

@Capt.shay's and @IDJoel, this has become one of my ADV's, it's always in a tank.

So damn good it needed to be put in the right device. Kayfun V5 and a FTM DNA @ .48Ω and 19.4 watts. What a damn fine vape! The creamy berry finish on the exhale is outstanding!

Thank you for the inclusion, but I can't/won't take any credit for this; this was all @Capt.shay's creation, and he deserves 100% of the credit. I am glad it was a rewarding experiment for you (as it was for me too)!:D

BTW: that's a pretty sweet looking pipe vape! Freight Train does beautiful work; it is a shame to see them closing.

Never would have found the recipes without you my friend! Credit for the find :)

I saw that, damn shame because Sam and Ashley were great to work with and very patient. Custom work is difficult and most people don't understand that it takes time. I have to imagine that people pushed, the e-mails about "where's my pipe" just became a challenge as well as regular life. I'm lucky to own one and it's a great pipe.

I haven't found a Cherry concentrate that doesn't taste like Vicks 44D yet.
I just got around to trying FW Yumberry, all I taste is cherry. Maybe a hint of raspberry. Really good anyways, I bet with 10-20 drops of sweetner it would be like red hawaiian punch.

I've never been particularly happy with any finished berry mixes I've tried, so I just make my own. I think it's pretty good... :D

Blackberry (CAP) 5.5%
Strawberry Ripe (TFA) 2.25%
Blueberry Wild (TFA) 2.25%
Sweet Strawberry (CAP) 1.25%
Blueberry (CAP) 1.25%
Raspberry (CAP) 1.5%
Sweetener (Sucralose) (TFA) 1%

I mix 30/70 PG/VG & generally allow it to age a week - 10 days...
