My friend gave me this tank he doesn't use anymore. I love it; it's sexy and top loading which is definitely an upgrade from my Kanger subtank nano. However, I have NO clue what kind of mod to look for and the sigelei site was not helpful. I don't really have a budget since I'm saving up for it, but let's keep it under $250. Other than that I'm open to ideas.

What coils do you have for it? And what type of vaping do you prefer, MTL or DL? That's a nice tank which is provided with subohm coils and I don't know If your friend gave you the ones that come in the kit. If you want to use the Ni coil, you will need a mod that can provide temperature control.

The other coil is 0.5 ohm Kanthal, which will need at least 30W. So a mod that can provide decent power, say a 75W model with Temp control (which is very common these days on new mods) should fit your requirements. Lot of brands to choose from, all with pros and cons. More info on how you vape and plan to use this tank would be helpful.

howdy! and welcome!

if you are saving up for a mod (not a bad idea to get something solid that will hold up and last - especially with the deeming looming and the associated uncertainty there - don't get me wrong - not advocating panic, just prudence) may be worth looking at some that will keep you from having to upgrade for a bit...

that being said - what are some of the keys for you? form factor? single battery vs dual battery? size or weight?

a very reasonably priced single battery mod like the evic vtc mini might be worth looking at - though, one of my current faves is the sigelei 213 - the carbon fiber/ gunmetal version is six kinds of shmexy, comparitively VERY light for a dual battery box, small form factor, plenty of power (you don't have to max it out - running lower wattage on a dual battery box just means you get much more battery life between swapping batteries) and TC capable as well... pic below is the sig 213 next to evic vtc mini for comparison (keep in mind evic is single battery box, sig is dual)
