*Please do NOT turn this into a Provari hate thread!*

So I'm seriously debating getting a device that puts out less power than what I have right now. I'm currently running a Sigelei 150W with a smok TFV4. I don't know if I'm just getting tired of the same setup or if I'm just ready to scale down, but I'm really debating getting another setup with a nautilus tank.

I'm about to get a lot of money coming my way, and was probably going to get a Provari because I've always been pretty fond of them. However, I would of course want a more cost effective mod that works just as well.

What do you think I should roll with? I would like it to be compact but it's not necessarily a deal breaker.

Thanks in advance!!

I really want a TFV4, so I can start learning about rebuilding but still using stock coils if I want. I'm really a novice, but I just got a eVic VTC mini, and I love it. I only use it at 8.5W with my Nautilus. I have a Nautilus Mini, but I don't like it....the draw is too tight for me, and I MUCH prefer the full size Nauti. Not to mention the 5ML capacity....I hate refilling all the time, so the big Nauti is great for me.

Have you considered getting verified for access to the Classifieds? I often see members selling their Provari v2, v2.5 even v3 in the Classifieds.

If so => How to Become a Verified Member

Other options (inexpensive compact mods).
  • iStick 30 watt
  • Evic VTC Mini (offers temp control as well as power mode)
I'll add more if I think of others that are well received (popular).

All any topper really wants is very consistent and smooth power to charge the coil and to do it at the watts you want consistently.

I would hear of a mod and go to the APV sub-forum and search for it. Look for negatives. I would say look for positives, but most people REALLY like the one that they have...and it is one of the few that they have ever had.

As was said, 98.99 percent of the time I don't exceed 25 watts. Other things, but the primary job is to heat the coil and to do it very well.

Good luck!

They are not for me but if you always liked a provari, have the money to get it, I wouldn't wait any longer. These things seem to last you a lifetime so you can hardly go wrong with them. (Kinda like the zippo's of the analogue years lol)
And for those days you feel like fogging up the place, you'd still have your 'old' setup.

Absolutely. I always find a product's negative reviews much more informative than the sea of "I love it 10/10 A+ best thing ever 5 and a half stars it's the only one I've ever tried but it's the best one I've ever tried!"

I have no experience with either the Provari or the nautilus. But I do share your interest in lower power devices. I have found my way backward from higher power devices to my preferred mod that was from before I started vaping.
I'm quite satisfied with my 2 Sigelei ZMax V3 Mods using modified Evod type tanks rewicked with cotton and airflow enhanced.
Now I definitely do not want to offend anyone who loves their Provaris but have seen several reviews that claim these Mods compare well to them. It just might be a cheaper way for you to make sure you'd be happy at this performance level before moving on to the Provari.
I bought my 2 ZMax from the site linked below but they only have blue left if that works for you. It is a very nice metallic blue finish. Understand, these are NOT cheap junk. They are well built quality Mods from days gone by. They just can't be sold in a market where everyone is pushing 200 watt and Temp control. Just waiting on the clearance pages to be discovered by the lucky few.

Sigelei ZMAX V3 Telescopic Variable Mod

I you prefer SS you might consider this link but at twice the price.

ZMAX V3 $19.99

I have 2 Nautilus Minis, and I've used them on everything from Vision Spinner v1 up to a Sigelei 150w TC with the Ni200 coils in TC mode. They earn the name of a TANK because they always preform, and never have failed. BUT I would check out the new box by Kangertech because I believe they are comparable to an iStick 50w but offer TC and 70w of power, not to mention a 4400mAh battery, so they will easily last a week, and possibly longer in TC mode.

Just a note though... Don't even bother with the "Nautilus Coils" anymore, jump right into the Triton Mini coils... they work wonderfully, are more accurate, and offer a slightly more open draw due to the larger coil. They have them in 1.8 Clapton, .15 Ni200, and a standard 1.2 Ohm Kanthal.

Hope this helps! :)

i saw new ProVari 2.5's at electronicstix for $50. Can't go wrong. If money isn't an issue and you want something more compact, the Radius is an excellent mod. Or, there's anything else that will run 8 watts and up....But you said ProVari, sooo......

Provari, compact?? Sure, if you use the little ego battery. Even then, big for a small mod nowadays.
Those are ProVari's in that picture. They're both 18650's and they're 1/8" taller than a Vaporshark rDNA. What's not compact about that?

Lol. Sure...
LOL....you must have dainty little girl hands. In your case, the ProVari is obviously too big and non compact. Tough break on the hands, bro. I'm sure you make up for it somewhere.....like sturdy ankles, perhaps. But hey, think of the money you save on gloves! Those tiny ones are pretty cheap. I remember buying gloves for my kid. They practically give those things away!
