So far in my limited experience with the coil heads it's a toss up - had three 1.8 ohm heads read at 2.1 ohms, 2.4 ohms and 2.2 ohms. Had two 2.4 ohm heads read at 2.4 and 2.8. I just ordered 2 additonatl 1.8 ohm heads to see how they'll measure out. In spite of the markings, these heads are at best inconsistent ohms.

FWIW both 2.8 ohm heads I have measure right on 2.8 ohms.

Myself I have gotten the best results with a 2.4ohm and voltage ranging from 3.6 to 3.8 depending on the liquid. Higher voltages + heavy vaping and she starts burning slightly. The 2.8ohm head Ive used from 3.8 to 4. Anything higher and same issue.

The 1.8 at any voltage just performed poorly in terms of vapor and flavor. Lots of sizzle and pop but no show lol

I've had great luck with my 1.8 ohm heads. It's easy to get a burnt taste, but it's just as easy to find my sweet spot right before it.

BTW, the best range you're going to get from a twist is if your head measures exactly 1.92 Ohms. That gives a range of 5.33W to 12W, which seems to cover almost everything I've seen from people claiming what their sweet spot is. At least, that's what the simplified math of Ohm's law dictates, which isn't entirely accurate for these devices.

I'd try 1.8 and 2.4 ohm heads and see which ones work best for you. Me, I'm sticking with 1.8 because I've had good luck so far.

No offense to you but that chart kinds sux. Behold the real deal!

What does this tell us? That having a 1.7ohm, a 2.4 ohm and a 3.0 ohm will let us enjoy an EGO Twist at all the voltages it is capable of. That said, if you are an envelope pusher then a 3.0 ohm is all you need to fully enjoy the Twist at full power. Seeing as the Vivi Nova comes with a 2.8 ohm atomizer head; that's your best bet - being closest to 3.0 ohms. Maybe dial it back a notch to 4.6v...

After watching a few videos and reading up on how to rebuild the Vivi Nova heads its the way to go, I have 10 heads in total mostly in the 1.8ohm range, when they finally die I will just rebuild them and after a few tries you can get the ohm rating at where you want it. Very of topic but thought I'd share.

Vapoligy LLC Smokeless Cigarettes, Niquid, DIY Supplies sells Kanthal resistance wire and silica wick for a reasonable price and why I choose them is because they have stock and shipping to my country is cheap.

I hate that chart. I routinely get around 10W with my twist and love it. 8.5W (his maximum) is roughly equivalent to 3.9V on the twist with the 1.8 ohm head, and there are a couple juices I've tried that work well there……most of them don't taste nearly as good as they do at 4.4 V (roughly b/t 10 and 11W). And both of my current heads have lasted at least a week and are going strong.

Put that max wattage to 12 and the minimum to around 7.5 and then we'll talk.

If people didn't like vaping higher than that chart recommends, there would be no reason for high ends mods to go to 6V and for the Darwin and DNA to go up to/above 12W.

Which would give me longer Twist battery life:

1) a 2 ohm cartomizer at 3.8 volts on the Twist

2) a 3 ohm cartomizer at 4.2 volts on the Twist

I'm not 100% sure because I don't really know how the buck/boost circuitry works, but I'd hazard to guess that it doesn't matter. Especially for a $22-25 battery……just buy two.

I own 3 twists. I was only asking because I have both 2 & 3 ohm cartos. I like the 2's at 3.8 volts and I prefer the 3's at 4.2 volts. I've only been vaping since January and I thought I understood the ohm concept, but the more I read, the more I'm beginning to think I have it backwards. Hence my question about whether a higher ohm will give longer battery life, even when used at a slightly higher wattage.

The normal wisdom is that a lower current draw (higher resistance at the same power) will give better battery life. And if you're using an unregulated straight battery, that's probably true. But I don't think that applies to VV devices.

If you own 3 twists and both cartos, why not just try them for a few days each and gauge it yourself. It wouldn't be scientific, but apart from modelling the circuitry inside the Twist, I don't think there's much better.

I've been running the Twist @ 4v on a dual coil rated at 1.8ohm. This produces a ton more vape without any burnt taste than a regular 3.7v . Plus I can vape all day with the same batt and most of the evening. Mind you I'm not hitting it all the time, but enough to say it's an all day batt with this set up. I can't tell the difference in vape production at higher voltages. I can tell there is a more burnt taste at higher voltages.
