Ok, so the mod I'm making this week is going to require a piece of painted PVC pipe. The buttons will be mounted on the piece, so I need a paint that will stick to PVC, not be tacky to the touch, not wear away quickly with exposure to e-liquid, and (because I'm impatient) dry quickly... I've used modeling spray paint before on ABS (xbox 360 case), but it tends to stay tacky for quite awhile. On another forum someone recommended Krylon Interior/Exterior spray paint for sticking to PVC.

Anyone have any suggestions for me?

I'd probably go with Krylon Fusion. It's formulated to bond to plastics.

this!

also using the fusion matte white as a primer for other colors, like the stone paints works well.

Also remember with any paints, lighter is better. You can always do another coat, but 1 run and your day is ruined. The is especially true with fusion because too much and it acts like a catalyst and can actually eat the plastic.

Just a thought: the net has several tutorials on painting custom computer cases/mods (edit: kind of like what you noted) - many recommend automotive paint. The tutorials may give you ideas for plastics and/or techniques.

Of course, check the formulation for plastic adhesion as mentioned above. Sanding between coats gives you a mirror finish. You have to let it dry between coats too. May not be for the impatient however, but FYI anyway.

The Krylon Fusion looks like good stuff. I'd scuff up that PVC 1st no matter what primer/paint I used. Wipe with isopropyl alcohol or some such to ensure no finger oils, of course. Good luck! Give us a pic when done, can't wait to see it!
