Hello!

I'm looking for a good place to order an iTaste SVD. Don't wanna use fasttech after hearing about the long delivery times and possible knock-off risk.

I live on the East Coast, does anyone have a good order experience for the US? I'm looking to get the "regular" kit that comes with the two telescopic covers, the two iClear 30s and three replacement wicks. I understand the price is at around 60 bucks for the kit and then I'll have to buy batteries and a charger. Any recommendations as to what battery sizes to get? I'm going to use it mostly at home so (without holding one before) I don't think the longer size factor would matter that much to me. What's your best battery combo for this unit?

I want to also get the Protank 2 for it. It's a bottom feed clearomizer and I'll have a different reference to the iClear 30. I also feel that it looks nicer with the iTaste. Does anyone have the Protank 2 on theirs because I'd like to know if it's the same diameter of the unit. In other words, it doesn't look smaller or bigger than the rest of the SVD.

Thanks in advance! :vapor:

The Protank 2 is just a "tad" smaller than the circumference of the SVD.

Get a nickle out of your pocket........turn it on its edge.....see the width of the nickle ? thats about the size difference of the Protank 2 sitting on top of the SVD.......actually more like the width of a quarter the more I look at it. Hows that for real world measurments ?

How do you like the look of the Protank 2 on your iTaste vs the iClear 30 it comes with?

Any advice on where to order the iTaste?

The Protank looks great on the SVD. It looks like its made for it. I didnt care for the Iclear, but thats just my opinion. I like bottom feeders better. The coils stay wet on a bottom feeder thus giving the coils/wick a longer life. The Iclear does have a good taste....at first. You need to decide for yourself. The Protank is hard to beat for ease of use. You just need to order an extra 5 pack of coils and get in the habit of cleaning them every day or two. I would keep two or three heads in rotation and clean every day. Just takes a minute...take it off, throw in a shot glass full of vodka or 90 % or higher alchohol for about an hour, then wash with water and set asid to let dry. It wont hurt them if you accidentally leave them in water or Vodka overnight. Anyway...thats my ritual because Im picky about good taste. They will last a long time also if you do this. My two cents....

The only thing I like better on an SVD (for flavor reasons) is a quality cartomizer tank from IBTanked. Buts thats another story.

I bought both my SVD's from Fasttech and understand you dont want to. Im not sure who has the best price in the US. If I find out, Ill let you know.

By the way, I prefer the 1.8 ohm heads and vape at about 3.4 to 3.7 volts. If you vape near 4 volts or more, you will burn the wicks quicker. I vape at a lo voltage for flavor and for longevity of the coil.

You can rebuild these too if you want, so dont throw any heads/coils away that you burn out....

Thanks for the great info, man! I'm still a novice at VV but I did hear that the lower the ohms the better the vapor production and overall experience. Does the Protank 2 come with different ohms heads? And you are talking about the Protank 2 not their first model, right?

Also, do you use your SVD on VV only? Most of the video reviews I've seen set it to around 9 Watts and don't mess with the voltage. Just wondering. I'd imagine settings differ based on the type of ejuice, right?

SmartVapes Ecigs, Dripping Atomizers, Clearomizers, E Liquid, E Juice this is the normal price for an SVD in the USA 100 bucks

At Fasttech, its 37 bucks, free shipping. http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004594/1370201-innokin-itaste-svd-telescoping-variable-voltage you dont get Iclears with this deal.

$60.08 INNOKIN iTaste SVD Telescoping Variable Voltage Electronic Cigarette Set - w/ 2 x iClear30 atomizers and heating cores at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping this one is 23 dollars more but you get one Iclear 30 and another telescopic sleeve that will go straight in your drawer. You only need the one that comes with the cheaper kit.

Hmhh... I might just go with Fasttech then since I didn't get any other recommendations. Also from reading the reviews at the site it does seem that it's an authentic Innokin product and not some knock-off.

Still trying to decide which one of the two differently priced kits to go with. Is the second sleeve on the more expensive kit just so you can fit 2 of the smaller batteries in it? I might just go with the $37 one since I plan on using a 18650 battery.

Thanks for the help!

The small tube will work with any of the battery configurations. The large tube works only with an 18500, 18650, or the stacked 18350. I think the point of the larger tube is comfort and grip. It is much more comfortable to hold the larger tube than the smaller one.

Innokin iTaste SVD - High Desert Vapes

INNOKIN iTaste SVD

US venders are going to be much more expensive, but you wil get it sooner.

That's only true with fixed voltage PVs, which need lower ohms to increase power. If you have a variable voltage unit, you may find you prefer higher ohms with more voltage.

What's the benefit of higher voltage then? I'm just trying to understand. Thanks!

More resistance means more wraps in the coil (more coil contact with the wick) or thinner wire (heats faster). It also allows for more wattage without reaching the amp limit of your device, and according to various charts floating around, higher wattage without risk of melting the coil.

For me, the vape of higher resistance heads used at higher voltages seems thicker and more satisfying. I prefer it, but your mileage may vary. Since you have a VV device, you should definitely try both.

Yeah.....what HE said !!!!

Try the lower resistant coild and the higher ones......see what you like best. I prefer 1.5 and 1.8 but Caged likes the higher 2.2 and 2.4/2.5. It really is a preferance thing to be sure.

Get the 37 dollar SVD from FT is my opinion. Get the 14.00 Inteli charger from FT (charges 4 batteries at a time). While your there, get a pair of shorty batteries (they are only 5 bucks for two) and get one or two 18650 panasonic batteries from FT (the green ones are great but the gray ones are ok too)

There are many that will tell you to get AW batteries only...... because they are like the Mercedes/BMW of batteries. Suppose to last longer. Well, thats fine, but you can pick some up later. I did the same thing. ..... and I dont see much of a difference. If FT hasd some 18500's, get a couple of those. I think they have some pink Sanyos that are good. By the way, you can put button tops or flat tops in the SVD.

All my opinion.

By the way, the larger tube......why? for what reason ? who would want to stack 18350's when you have all three sizes.

Again... this was my path and it worked well for me. Good luck in your buying. !!

You will want to ramp up the volts when using a higher ohm coil. Volt and watts ? Who cares. Just get use to one or the other. Its just a different power reading. Power is power. Its like weighing gold. Some use a measurement called pennyweights and some use grams/ounces. The gold still weighs the same. Just get used to one or the other. Trust me, you wiill know where to set it at after you burn up your first wick/coil.

Just start low, take a puff...then up tghe volts/watts one or two and puff again, the do it again. You will find your sweet spot.

One benefit of vaping at higher voltages (with correspondingly higher Ohms) is battery life, both between charges and overall. Here are a couple of examples using Ohm's Law:

A 1.2Ω coil at 10Watts will require about 3.5V and consume about 2.88 Amps
A 2Ω coil at 10Watts will require about 4.5V and consume about 2.24 Amps
A 2.5Ω coil at 10Watts will require about 5V but only consume about 2 Amps

As you can see, for a given Wattage, the higher Ohm coils consume fewer Amps, and since Amps are what your battery runs on, the higher the Ohms, the lower the Amps, the less stress on the battery, and thus, longer battery life. :)

Do not be cheep when getting batteries. You don't want boiling hot gasses venting onto your leg just because you wanted to save a couple of dollars. FT has some good 18650's, but everything else is pretty much crap. They do have a couple of others that would probably work, but many of them come from companies with poor qc or some companies just rebrand batteries and try to pass them off as good ones.

While the Panasonic batteries are very good, I think you should start your battery collection off with AW IMR's. Not only are they some of the best batteries you can get, but they will also work in any mod you put them in. Some mod require a button top to work (provari being one of them). There are others that require more insulation around the bottom of the battery. If there is no insulation the mod will fire on it own (the king being one of them).
