I also first thought rebuildables "too nerdy" and "too involved", but to be honest, making a coil is super-easy. Get a screwdriver etc., wrap 8 something wraps....doesn't even need to be exact. (Because you can adjust them later).
I mean the entire thing with wicking, experimenting with coils/resistances, wire gauges etc. is actually more "work" than the actual coil making. And once you made a coil it can last you a long time. (That being said I am guilty too since with my Kayfun and the stuff I got, wire, wick etc. I also got premade micro coils...but I don't use them)
The main "problem" is still screwing the coils on...but this you'll have whether you make your own coils or use pre-made ones. (Single coils are not such a problem, but dual coils etc. can get really annoying trying to fix them....)
Edit: And get the RIGHT tools. I think the screwdriver coming with the Kayfun is a joke and so are the screwdrivers in this €18 LD (UD) vaping tool set I got. Seriously, a good, right-size screw-driver from a dollar/HW store can make all the difference with coil building, fixing coils, refilling etc.
