Hi folks,

Question for people that use the 510 PV's.

I'm in a production of "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" at our local community theatre and the director has requested that we get e-cigs for everybody (as lighting up real cigs on stage is a big no-no with the fire marshall, the state's indoor smoking laws, and our audience), but we have about 8 people in the cast, and not all of them are smokers/vapers. We need to have redundancies since we a) don't want to share PV's, and b) need backups just in case one doesn't get charged/breaks/etc during a show. But even though we need redundancy, we're also a small community theatre and can't be buying $129 kits for every actor. The money just isn't there. So we need about 9 or 10, with at least 5 chargers, and 10 spare carto's or Atty's. juice should be easy as most of it will be unflavored.

As such: do you folks know where I could get the standard looking (white/orange tip) 510 PV's inexpensively in bulk, that aren't complete junk? Does anyone have any recommendations or deals that they know of?

Thanks!

Just a suggestion. Amazon has fake puff cigs that might work and are much cheaper. Just search for fake cigarettes.

Yeah, unfortunately, as cheap as those are, director doesn't want that kind of look. He'd prefer e-cigs as they are as close to the real thing without actually lighting up in the theatre. He likes the look of the vapor, as well as the fact that the actors will actually need to inhale, and that the battery tip glows. Luckily, this is a mainstage production, so we do have some money to spend on this: like maybe $200-$300, just not $1K.

You can get individual batteries from Smokeless Image for 12.95 a piece in white with a red/orange tip. Automatics would make the most sense. You can also find discount codes pretty easily for them. Grab a couple cheap starter kits, a few batteries, and some cartomizers.

Their basic starter kits are pretty cheap too: Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Volt Pack Electronic Cigarette Kit
Batteries: Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette

You may also see if the nJoy King promotion is still going on for free disposables that look like cigarettes.

how about a few disposable Njoys for each actor? they're about 8 bucks each. no chargers needed. no filling of cartos. if one dies, just grab another.

not sure how much each character is smoking thru the play, or how long you're running. unless the character is a chain smoker, i'm sure each one should make it thru a couple nights performances, i'd think.

I second this motion! Njoys are pretty good, too.

Cool application and interesting sourcing considerations ... hard to beat the aforementioned disposables, although disposables are usually not available in flavorless. But I would like to mention:

Those cartridges need to have an atomizer to work with the auto battery, and probably would not be that great of a solution. In fact any cartridge-based unit probably is not the best choice, i'd look to a cartomizer. More reliable.

That auto battery looks like a good choice. Don't forget the charger. Paired with ~2.0 ohm cartomizers would give great performance and reasonable life. Unfortunately fasttech does not have a great selection of cartomizers, so you would probably look to another site for those. Boge 2.0s from crystal clear vaping perhaps, they give bulk discounts. And you can get a bottle of VG mixer from them too for the juice. Prop staff would have to get the cartomizers to look like filters, brown packing tape might work there.

Hmm here's something I just saw, I haven't been into 510 sticks for a while but it looks like they have a slightly larger version, which should be more reliable: $23.30 510-X 400mAh Rechargeable Batteries for Electronic Cigarette - Assorted Color (5-Pack) 5-pack - 510 thread at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping This might allow you to run a 1.8 or lower ohm carto (stick to single coil) reasonably well.

I think those are close enough to the standard stick size to not be noticeable on stage. Your prop staff would have to make them white but that should be simple. I believe these are automatic, I don't see any buttons in the picture. So make sure if the prop staff uses paint, to be mindful of the automatic switch and intake path. Tape might be preferable.

In any event if you order bulk from FT don't forget to email them for some additional bulk discount (link is on the pricing table). And again don't forget the chargers.

These.

Electronic Cigarettes | Electronic Cigarette | White Cloud

At $3/e-cig, the price can't be beat and the vapor production is impressive.
This one.
You can get 0 nic vanilla which would be best for the non smokers

Definitely DO NOT recommend introducing nicotine to a non-smoker! True, it's no more addictive than caffeine... But I know quite a few people who have major withdrawal symptoms if they cannot get their caffeine fix.

The NJoy Kings are really strong... it might be funny to watch!

I would recommend the 10-pack of White Clouds as well.
They don't have an orange "filter" though.

I have used them in a pinch more than one time. Are they equal to a Mod? No way, but they are convincing enough...

Not hard to find, either.

The Kings kicked my ..... But they eventually led me to White Cloud, so for that, I thank them.

I was early in my vaping career and headed to DC for the day. I took a couple of eGo twists, two atomizers, and two bottles of juice. One of the attys was already blown, the other failed me as I approached Fredericksburg. I had been off analogs for like 45 days or so, and facing the next 10-12 hours without vape. I pulled into a RaceTrac (I think) and got two Kings. They got me back home smoke free. I remain a big fan.

I think many posters are missing the fact that you do not want nicotine or flavoring in your ecigs. NJOY disposables are the most cigarette looking device out there, but you cannot get them without flavor or nicotine.

Someone earlier suggested Smokeless Images ecigs. I think those would be the best for you, as they look close to a real cig in white w/ orange or red LED. They are definitely bigger than a cigarette, but small relative to most else out there, especially if you get the 65mm length ones. You should be able to get cartridges with 0 nicotine. However, I believe they all are flavored. SI's RY4 is probably the lowest flavored liquid I know, and would be an OK substitute. Alternately, you could get blank cartridges, and get unflavored 0 nic liquid from someplace like Mt. Baker Vapor and fill the cartridges yourself.
