Best recommendations for a total newbie?

I'd suggest a 510 Drip tip and an extra box of regular resistance cartomizers (5 to a box) for $6.50.

They sell little samplers. You can try a lot of flavors in small sizes on the cheap.

He's a noob and asked for simple. He'll get a nice hit with a Volt or SmokTech kit and can save it as a backup when he upgrades. An eGo is great for a little longer-lasting battery but there's a warning about using low resistance supplies on it (many do anyway). After learning here that it could blow up with LR attys or cartos on it I don't recommend eGos or Rivas and went to regular resistance cartos on my eGo. Blah. Fat Batts can be weird and intimidating to a noob. I love the fat batt KGO with higher voltage and mAh but recommend a cigarette-looking kit with a long cutoff and no mic for a beginner. They'll grow into a Fat Batt or mod. That was my logic. And that's what's great about ECF. Someone will come along and share mods with the OP and who knows what else. Makes the shopping experience all the more fun

If you purchase a Riva kit, make sure you get the one that is 510 threaded...more goodies can be purchased for 510's than most models out there.
Both of these will give you excellent battery life, vapor, flavor, and TH. You didn't state how many cigs you smoked a day but start with 18-24mg of various juices. Oh wait - you are in Singapore. What you need to do is go ask in SG-Vaoers because they know what you can and can't get easier. I will say if you get a slim ecig, buy manual batteries. Manuals make it easier to get a good hit and they are harder to damage or kill with juice leaks.

Just wanted to add that they now have the brand new sealed auto batts too.
Auto batteries are never sealed because the suction of your drag STILL has to reach the drag sensor inside the battery - those new ones are leak resistant and I believe the hole(s) are moved to the side of the center post. And I tried one. No comparison to the easy-to-get hit of a manual IMO.
