So I'm a few weeks into vaping, have already ran through ego-upgrade, then twist, then itaste vv v3, and an itaste mvp.

Really like both itaste devices, and am still using the vv v3 as my daily on-the-go vape with a PT 2 mini.

Think I'd like to step it up on a proper mod though. Not too interested in a mech mod (yet?), but having spent too much already, I'm looking for an affordable mod that will give me decent performance for awhile.

I'm just wondering if people can give input on Vamo/SVD/ZMax/or anything in that budget category. And yes I know I will have to buy batteries as well. I also don't mind waiting a few weeks for Chinese shipping.

I saw a couple other budget ones, but the build quality looked pretty bad (SmokTech SID, etc.)

I'm also wondering if I should just hold out a little longer for the upcoming DNA20 clones...this seems like the perfect fit for me, and I saw ........ saying sigelei was releasing their DNA20 clone soon (I know his popularity is hit or miss around here), and if those should actually be available soon, I probably might just wait for them.

Any input appreciated -- will primarily be used at home, with a kayfun or russian clone.

I just got a Sigelei Zmax V3 from desertvapes.com for $40. It is an awesome little rig. It is very solid, threads are smooth and the operating system is easy to use even with just one button. So far I am loving mine.

i also have the sigelei zmax v3 from desert vapes! and it's absolutely great. i got an mvp 2.0 in the mail today and that rules as well.

Yeah I was initially really leaning towards a v3 or v5 zmax. Already have an MVP 2, and I do really like it, but I'd like something a little more powerful to be able to experiment with lower ohm builds on RBA's and RBD's.

Damn...glad to see they hit the market, but at that price point I couldn't be less interested. If that's indicative of what they will be going for, I guess I'll just have to wait a couple months for the price to drop. Thanks for sharing though for sure...first one I've seen available for sale. At that price I'd just as soon spend the extra 50 bucks and get a vaporshark (I dig the portability).

Love my SVD. Best money I've spent while vaping, it was $60 on FT for the full kit but can be had for $38 for the express kit.

Unless you plan on vaping at 20w I wouldn't waste my money on the DNA20 original or clones. The SVD can go to 15w which is more then enough for the basic vaper IMHO.

Yeah no real plans to vape at 20w...but I do like the fact that DNA20 devices can run sub-ohm coils. Not that its something I'm even into, but I like the flexibility, so I could experiment a little.

I guess the other thing that was causing me to rethink the SVD was that I wanted to try out some other companies -- as it is I've really only owned joyetech and itaste batteries. I also kinda don't like the screen/button layout for the SVD, but if I'm being honest, it's not like I'm constantly changing the settings on any of these things.

Thanks again for all the input guys.

Being a sucker for mixing it up, I bit the bullet and went with the Sigelei v5. Ultimately due to the rather extreme length of the SVD, and being a nerd who works in technology, I couldn't resist the prettier OLED screen. That being said, my next paycheck might have SVD written all over it.

And to think the 'money I would save' helped motivate my transition to vaping. So far, not even close lol (but I do have a 2 month juice supply, 4 batteries, a mod en route, and like 10 atomizers).

30th bday coming up shortly, so perhaps I should start looking for something to treat myself with...

Thanks again for all the suggestions...will report back whenever the vapemail fairy drops off my first proper mod.

I think the $60 for the vammo is well worth it. Other than that iv heard great things about the ego twist

I love my vamo v5 as well. I'm not a high wattage vaper, but I read in another thread that the vamo v5 is a 30w device. Nice, budget-friendly upgrade from my ego twist.

Definitely not a 30w device.

Athough I ordered a zmax v5 from FT I randomly decided last night to change my mind and get the vamo v5 instead. At under $33 shipped it was $15 cheaper than the sigelei, plus I reached the conclusion that the single button setup on the sigelei would probably start annoying me rather quickly.

Plus it allowed me to add a KFL clone for the same price.

Yeah, everything I've read says it's a 15w device, but here's what another member posted in another thread. This is what made me mention that...

"Most people don't know this but the VAMO is a 30 watt device.

With stacked 18350s on a 1.2 ohm coil @ 6 volts the VAMO puts out 30 watts."

That thread is here...http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=525100

Congrats on the new hardware!!
