Everyone recommends the Nautilus and aerotank...I haven't tried these but I have used the Evod and just started using the SmokTech T-Dux 2.0 and find the flavor to be much better than the Evod, at least. I don't see much mention of these clearos on the forums, though.

Taste is subjective with that being said if you tried either the Nautilus or aerotank you would know why. That's if you had a vv vw battery. Do you have one? If not the Itaste vv3 or the mvp2 is a very good choice.

As a guy who spent the better part of a year on a RDA I just purchased the Nautilus and I love it. I recently transferred from my home city to a new city for work and the 4+ hour commute driving at 80 mph was becoming a little unsafe trying to drip and drive. As luck would have it my coil went out and I didn't have any of my gear to rebuild, so I stopped in a local vape shop in the new city and they had the Nautilus. I talked to the shop owner and he was helpful and even let me try his as he was vaping off of one. It has 4 different adjustable air holes and the fact that he was not trying to sell me on just one specific purchase made me feel at ease. So I purchased it and I have to say it is well worth it. I love the taste and it delivers a full throat hit which I was missing from other types of tank systems. And yes the BVC head is the only way to go as I tried both and without a doubt the BVC out-shined the other head.

How does the beyond vape silo perform? I've only seen a couple reviews on the full size model but none on the lite. I just picked up a silo lite and some Aspire BVC's for my girl..

Don't know yet. I ordered 2 Silo full-sized tanks and their supposed to be shipped on 9/19/14. I bought them based on "Todd's" review. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM5mm0CYJmo It would be nice if they'd add an AFC to the Silo lite...

Those are nice. I just ordered some silo lites. I'll compare it to the Nautilus when I can.

There are quite a few vidios on Youtube that shows how to rebuild bvc coils. Not that difficult.
I currently use a Protank 3 with an aftermarket adjustable airflow base, after buying 3-4 packs of coils I am now rebuilding all my coils. I stopped using the Dual Coil builds and started replacing them with Vertical Microcoils and elongated single coils (using two drill bits) at 1.5- 1.8 resistance. The OP stated that he can taste the silica, this will be a problem with every store bought coil as they all use this.
The difference between the silica and the rayon is huge, granted it sucks in more juice but you get more flavor and a larger cloud.

Just to add my 0.02... I have 24 tank systems, both rebuildable and non, including pretty much every Aspire and Kanger product. I'll echo most peoples recommendations and say that I really like the taste of the Nautilus - but the airflow is terrible. I actually prefer the Nautilus Mini overall, despite the smaller capacity, as it seems to have better airflow and the same great flavour. It's also very appealing with the replacement sleeved stainless tank as well.

Aerotanks will throw more vapour (on account of better airflow), but I find they don't taste as good. The only place Kanger takes the crown is in the Ego sized category - I like the EMOW tank better than all the others I've tried, including the K1. Unless you can deal with an oversized Nautilus Mini, of course :)

Since you have tried a bunch of tanks, how would you compare the Nautilus mini and the K1 flavor wise?
Are the BVC coils for the K1 better or comparable to the Nautilus mini BVC coils?

I have Taifun GT (clone), Nautilus, Protank II, Protank II Mini and Kanger T3S. The best is the Taifun GT, it's really strong in everything (taste, throat hit and cloud). The Nautilus (with BVC coil) is my best integrated tank, and it never leaks. :) It is really good in flavour and cloud, but a little bit weak in throat hit. The Protanks and the T3S are really weak to the Taifun and the Nautilus, but for the starting they were perfect. :)
