Hi all,

My experience so far. I bought two Protank II mini's. For wife and myself.

Mine was exposed to outside only for driving to and from work. I never really vaped outside. But with the temps we had here recently in Toronto, it most likely got fairly cold in my 20min drive.
My Wife working in the Downtown district, only used it outside with the smokers. Hers lasted 2 days, then gurgling and flooding. Mine lasted 4 days and same thing. Now i did read these tanks sometimes have this issue regardless. Mine are glass in case there is a plastic version of this tank.

My Brother has the Mini vivi nova dual coil plastic version. He's had it over a week without issue until he used it outside for 5-8 minutes today. Once back in the warmth of inside, his did same thing. Flood and gurgle.

Somehow i imagine this being worse in the summer. Outside enjoying the sun all day, sooner or later returning to the nice air conditioned house/bar/restaurant/mall.

I have only been vaping a month, i would guess many of you have been for a while and used in all our seasons. Is there a good tank for all seasons, or 1 better for winter, and one for summer.

thanks for any recommendations on this.

Gurgling and flooding can occur with clearomizers when bringing them in from the cold. The air inside them gets cold when outside, and when you bring them inside or somewhere warm, the air inside warms up and expands, forcing liquid out. For a bottom coil clearomizer (protank mini) try leaving it upside down (mouthpiece down, battery up) when coming in from the cold so that the expanding air can't force the liquid out. For a top coil clearomizer (vivi nova) try keeping it upright for the same reason. No need to get a new clearomizer, as they would all experience this issue.

I hope this helps, and congrats with making the switch!

Took me 6 months to figure out what Strangela said. Let me add that this happened to me a lot and I live in a warm climate so when it happened to me was:

1 when the tank was pretty empty and
2 when I chain vaped

The cure is the same, point it down when changing climates.

You can also flood by sucking the hell out of it, once flooded the only thing you can do is:
twist up a paper towel
shove it into the mouthpiece
put your finger ofer the towel/mouthpiece and give it a few downward shakes like you are trying to force warm blood into cold fingers.

On the other hand, If you really want to try something else, give Youde's AGR+ locking carto tank a try! With Boge low resistance cartomizers it gives a superior tasting vape with loads of vapor, I have not touched a protank since getting mine and wish I had tried one earlier......

Nice thing about Cartos is they are stuffed with absorbant material, if yo udo get a bit of leakage, the stuffing will suckit up....

Hi Railz :)

I had the same problem once winter hit here  Everything that had worked great before was leaking and gurgling whenever I came in from the cold outdoors, but if it was inside and never went out long enough to get truly cold it was fine. Now granted, we dont get *quite* as cold as Toronto - its still from degrees to sub zero very often. I can only imagine that its kind of like when you put a beer or soda in the freezer and it expands as it freezes - especially since my freezer is warmer than the outdoors! lol.

I have the most success with my cartotank - I still get a tiny smidgeon of a leak if I am outdoors for say over 20 minutes with it, but super minor and the carto doesnt flood and its still vapable. I did recently acquire a Reo Mini and that has been my winter savior. If I keep my juice bottle about 2/3 full or less it allows room for the pressure and it cant flood my atomizer without a "squonk".

I thought that since the SO is way to precarious for the glass cartotank and he doesnt want to monitor batteries with a Mini (its mechanical) that maybe if he filled his protank or nova about 2/3 instead of completely full it may work the same or similar in theory - granted it does help - it doesnt totally stop it. It is certainly worth a try for when you will have your PV exposed to cold for more than 10 or 15 minutes though! It does make a difference.

Good luck and stay warm!!!

well, thought I'd post back. I saw a EVOD tank that used the same coils for 5 bucks. So i thought what the hell, ordered it. Wow, best 5 bucks i've spent so far. It has been working great for coming up on 2 weeks. Coil it came with lasted a week to the day, put a new one in, and all is good. I've ordered a few more of these as I'm overjoyed with them. Good taste, good vaper.
