hey, whats up guys? hope all is well.
ok here i will try and explain why juice starts to leak especially from bottom feeders or sometimes tanks get gurgles from the extra juice being pulled into the carto under hot temperatures.

the reason why it does that is because the bottle would start to expand by itself because of the heat, and since i know that theres a long tube/needle running inside your bottle which is inside the box (bottom feed) it tries to get air out of the bottle. I'm no physics expert but that is what it does. and this can/will happen to any or all bottom feed box mods or any bottom feed mods and also a chance in your tank systems which use cartos.
you guys can try it by putting a bottom feed mod under the sun outside and say the temperature is high it will give you the leaking problems in if not all most feed mods. just my 2 cents.

also if you notice that will also happen with a water bottle left in your car in summer, when you open the cap it releases air to even out the pressure from outside and inside of the bottle. sorry for going on forever but in the end the bottle is expanding and since having juice in the bottle and there's a way for the juice to be let out through the needle on top and it will do that to try and even out the pressure from inside of the bottle to balance it with the outside pressure.
i guess you can also think a little as a balloon. when you fill it with air and then open the mouth, it lets air escape out of it, since it has been expanded. and it will keep letting air out until the air pressure is the same on the outside and ad inside of the ballon.
again sorry for the long rant i wish i could explain it simpler but hopefully this whole thing makes a little sense :)

keep on vaping.

Edit: i originally said shrink but i got myself confused when i started to write the post. even though as i started to type about the bottle expanding. thanks to "Justice" for clearing it up again!

also like Justice said which i forgot to add, the fuller you keep your bottle or tank topped up the less air is in there which will expand less since there is not much air in the bottle or tank. but if you are say halfway into your bottle or tank then there is more air inside which will expand, hence more juice would be pushed out from the tank to keep the bottle or tank to go under pressure.

**P.S** if there's somebody who is good in physics, and can explain this in better and simpler english then please do. your input would be very appreciated!

Not trying to be argumentative here but there is no shrinkage in the heat exactly the opposite. The air in the bottle will expand when heated and push the juice out. There are lots of ways to compensate for this. One is if possible keep the mod bottle etc in a similar environment. Next if the heat is rising beyond your control just ease off the bottle so as to let the hot air escape this works well if able to keep the mod upright so as to not have any leaks. Keeping the bottle full will also slow or lessen this effect less air to expand as fluids will not expand.

ahh there we go, i originally wrote expand and then i changed it. my mind just kind of fuzed up there for a minute. thank you for clearing up the confusion. i will edit the post.
thanks again :)

I've never ran into this issue with all my Bottom feeder mods and I use about 7-8 of them. I can see this happening more so with pressure like when your in an airplane and hit a certain altitude and the cabin gets pressurized more then anythine else,,,, it would have to get really hot for this to happen, like leaving your Mod in a car on a really hot day with the windows rolled up, but wont happen in just a regular situation with mod left in the house on a table on a warm day., just my findings in the last couple of years,,,,

and you are correct about the part where you said leaving it at home... and in a car on a hot sunny day it can get quite hot and the liquid would be forced out its hole....
lolz twss !!!

I have noticed this as well, which is kind of a bummer.

I have been rocking my J-Tanks for a while now with zero leaking but over the past few days the temperature has been getting into the 90's and I have been getting leaks out of the bottom of the tanks.

I can't believe it's already 90 degree's in Nebraska, this summer is not going to be fun. This is making me rethink how I will be vaping this summer because I have really been digging taking my tanks out and about with me but with the heat causing them to leak, I'm thinking that I may only be able to use them at home where it's cool inside, which is a bummer because they work so well.

From my past few days experiece, these are the results I'm getting. It's not like I'm leaving outside in my car for a few hours or anything, this is just being outside in the sun for 15 min or so while on break.

Looks like my EMDCC's are gonna have to be my go to out and about for vaping while it's hot outside.

What do other people use in the summer for vaping so that they don't have any leaking?

I've been really wanting to order a REO as well lately, but this leaking thing in the heat is kind of a bummer and now I'm having second thought's about getting one right now anyways.

I work in a manufacturing facility with no air conditioning. It's been getting over 100 degrees in there daily, and it makes my carto tanks gurgle and leak. I've got two solutions that work.

1) Punch/slot your carto at the top instead of the bottom, keep the hole above the juice when not vaping and tip it so juice covers the hole when you puff.

2) Don't use a carto tank. I use a Vivi Nova at work and have no issues with it flooding. Haven't taken a Genesis-style to work yet, but that would probably be suitable. Work can give my stuff a beating and I don't want to risk anything too spendy. If I trash a 13 dollar Vivi, eh, whatever. Reminds, me I gotta get a couple aluminum tank tubes for my Vivis
