Ok fellow Canucks. Thought I would post this here because a lot of us are now into cooler temps outside. I'm having a very odd issue when vaping outside and only outside. Inside in room temps I have my vaping dialed in. All working pretty much perfectly. But when I got outside when the temps are around 10c or below I get nasty dry hits. Totally scratches the back of my throat, especially on exhale. Not burnt hits but dry and nasty. It's so bad to the point where I basically can't vape outside. I'm having a hard time believing I'm the only one having this issue. Some thoughts and suggestions from other posts is that the liquid is getting too cool and not wicking up fast enough. Right now I'm using an itaste vv/vw ver 3 with either a protank II or Kanger Unitank. Both tanks produce the same results. I've tried a few different juices. Same thing. Someone suggested removing one of the wicks from the bottom coil. I did that and it didn't really help much. SO I've tried the practice of constantly holding the tank in my hand while outside to keep the juice warm and help the flow. That helps only a little bit. My juice right now is 50/50 and I have some 70 /30 here tonight which I'm hoping will help because it's thinner. I'm starting to wonder if it's just the cool moist air here in Vancouver mixing with the vape as I inhale that is doing this. It's driving me nuts!!! I can literally have a raunchy vape, move right back indoors and then have a nice smooth vape. I'm going to try cartos in a carto tank and see if there is any difference there.

Surely someone else has had this issue?

Yep I find indoor Vapeing is noticeably better, I use various devices and all are the same just about. I find the best outside Vapeing device is a vv/VW mod using an RBA. So Yes I've found a similar experience as yourself Op.

Well that sucks. I pretty much can't vape outside if it's a tad chilly. It's horrible! Wonder if dripping would be any better. Must be something to do with the cold air and the vape. I don't think it's a matter of the juice being too chilled and thick making it up the wick, it's the cold air interacting with the vapour itself.

Thing with an RDA is the juice is always wicked, but I do believe part of the problem is like u said the cooler air your inhaling mixing with the Vape alters the experience, at least that's what I have found. Also try some potent Vapes like Voodoo Cola or any strong Flavourfog in a 70/30 or 80/20 blend.

Even when its warm out, I find Vapeing changes a bit. Again I believe this is due to air movement outside.

When out and about I put 3-4 drops in my RDA and I'm good for several hours. Also try keeping the Vape in your mouth for a sec longer then usual before inhaling, or inhale right through the nose.

If uhave never inhaled exhaled directly through the nose, it can be eye watering, hehe.

Thanks for the tips. My next step was to try a 70/30 blend and I have vape mail waiting for me with exactly that. I will let you know my findings. Thanks for the tips!

Like you said, I've noticed that the cold will cause the liquid to get quite viscous very quickly. It doesn't flow into the wicks as easily and then you get dry hits. Even tipping and keeping the wicks wet doesn't help a heck of a lot.

If you're not chain vaping and just taking a puff every once in a while, keep the tank end in your hand in your pocket. That should keep it warm enough to use.

Ok helpful info. I find I get about 2-3 hits before it starts to go raunchy. I got some 70/30 mix last night but can't stand the flavours. Don't know if it needs to steep or what. Was my first 70/30 mix. I'm usually 50/50 ( still new to trying out flavours). I will keep trying out some 70/30 and see if that helps. I'm now in the habit of taking the tank off and keeping it my pocket then attaching it and vaping a few. Then I'm done. Can't stand the hits anymore. Got some cartos and tanks on the way, hoping that improves a bit

I know with the protank I get wicking issues even inside and with high PG content. I either need to tap it against a table or unscrew the glass portion away from the base by about a half turn, then back again. You should see bubbles rise up in the tank and the wick is wet again.

Give it a shot.

Thanks, I will try that!
