Best tank for pure flavor? (ideally with GOOD available replacement coils)

Well, I hate to say it, but I'm already being bitten by the EJ bug.! Just purchased my first setup recently (Smok R200, with a Kanger Toptank), and after learning a little bit through fiddling, have managed to get anything from a not-so-good to a really great vape out of a lot of juices. The 'really great' ratio is going up a lot as my learning does, and even though i made the mistake of buying some subpar juices (without doing enough reading on the forums, shame on me), anything vaped out of a mod is 13 times better than anything vaped out of a crappy cig-a-like.

I'm planning on making another purchase in the next month of another Mod plus another tank (to have something to take around town with me and not worry about breaking it without a backup), and have decided that the Kanger can go on the road, and I'd like something perhaps a little more aimed at producing amazing flavor to keep in the house, as I'm really a flavor over cloud type of dude, even though I of course don't want to be blowin anything wispy or pathetic.

One thing I notice about some tanks from reading the forum (most notable the Crown Uwell 2) is that some people love them but remark that the replacement coils offered with them are terrible. I'm a pretty busy fellow at this time in my life, and while I for sure want to get into building my own at some point, now isn't the time, especially being a rank beginner at quality vaping.

So to boil it down to a sentence, I really want a tank thats first priority is flavor, and need it to offer premade replacement coils that do the tank justice. Thoughts?

Welcome to ECF!

I read your post and did not want to let it go without a response.

With the new FDA regulations premade coils may become expensive or nonexistant over the next couple of years. It all depends on whether or not the FDA grants that the product may continue to be sold. I know that this isn't exactly what you wanted to hear but I do recommend that you get in to building coils and threading cotton in those coils while the getting is good.

There are many recommendations for the Kayfun 5 by Svoemesto. It is a single coil RDTA/RTA and is is allegedly very good on flavor. I own two of them, originals, and they are expensive at around $110+. There is a clone that is available from SJMY for around $30. I plan on buying two more of each. A review of the product is HERE.

If you decide to buy the clone, I would go to your bank and ask for a card that you can use for a one time purchase and load it up with whatever funds are necessary for the purchase if it is not within the USA.

Aspire Nautilus or the Mini. Flavor and a nice range of replaceable Coils. 1.2, 1.6, 1.8 and Nickel but I forget the ohms. And a nice air draw, but MTL Vaping for sure. And Kabuki for sure similar to the the Aspire but better air draw,

I also own both the KF v4 & V5. The v4 MTL and the v5 is Direct Lung hits. Both easy Decks to build on; just different styles and both nice flavor. BUT you have to build a Coil for them.

Thanks for the replies everyone, much appreciated. As of now, I'm between the Nautilus and TVF8 ( I read a lot about the TVF8, and while I get that's it's clearly more of a cloud tank than a flavor tank, large hits seem to be able to be taken really smoothly, and the flavor is allegedly still there). I don't mind tanks that absolutely guzzle juice, as I'll be placing order of very reasonably priced stuff. Definitely decided to pass on Crown tanks for now, and yeah I suppose I really should start building my own, shouldn't I. How hard can it be?

Curiously, I find less love for the TFV8 out in the real world. The Crown 2 seems universally disliked but the original Crown is a super tank, really.
In honesty, saying "I'm considering Nautilus or TFV8" is like saying "I don't want to walk anymore, so I'm either getting a bicycle or a Toyota Amazon Landcruiser"
Personally speaking, not buying anything by Smok has held me in good stead. Some folk have the voodoo to get stellar performance from the TFV8... I don't do black magic.
The question you posed was "factory coils" and in this respect Crown 1 beats TFV8.
If you are building, then that might not be the case. YMMV.
Then again, I don't believe in bad coils, but I do believe bears take a poop in the woods.
It's all about opinion. :)

With pre-made coils my best tanks are Crown 1's...

I have to agree with the above. I have been using the Crown 1 for a few months now and I am incredibly impressed. I've been successfully rebuilding on RDA's and a Kayfun for a couple of years now, and I'm using my Crown over those this summer. The flavor and vapor production of the Crown 1 is comparable to both.

+1 on the Crown V1. Also the Mini Buddha, Tilemahos, and the Eden Rose Stumpy. All are rebuild only, though.

I also agree that getting tired of research and reading will just get you a c or B- grade topper. A good question to answer is, "what attributes make a good flavor topper, engineering-wise"? I would just keep reading for a while.

Haha, thanks for the response. And great analogy! Because in this case I really would be okay with either a bicyle or a Landcruiser, depending on which gave me a more enjoyable ride (or flavor in this case). I really don't care about cloud size, so if one has better flavor then I'm in.

And okay thanks guys. I guess it's just the Crown 2 that people seem to have issues with, I may definitely consider the Crown 1.

After a good deal more of reading about the different suggested tanks, it seems that the Crown v1 is great, and they just royally screwed themselves by making the v2 which nobody seems to like. Crown v1 is up there at the top of my list, I may just get it. Thanks for all your responses guys

And I suppose I should really just get to building my own coils, might actually be wise to buy something I can build on.

Hey, thanks, I'll look into it. What is a good Kayfun 'style' tank, without being so incredibly expensive?

I bought this one and have been enjoying it, though, it's out of stock. Maybe someone will come in and give another suggestion.

My first one was a clone of the original from Fasttech and it's still my main go-to.

The Kayfun is a good tank. I stopped at the KF4 and reverted back to the Kayfun Lite Plus V2. It was June-July time frame and I wanted to get something I knew was easier for me (familiarity). I give the ease of use, no leaking, plethora of spare parts, highly modifiable, and high end flavor an A or A-. I have been using EHPro ones.

There are others, that I mentioned before, but they are "craftier". They also have smaller tanks. Some flavors change in the tank when they sit next to a hot chimney, and so the smaller ones have a little advantage there.

For my "stash", I bought about 9-10 of the Kayfuns. I have known about them for about 3 years. Sadly, I PIF'd my other Kayfuns because I got shinyitis for the latest and greatest. When the FDA decided, I went with tried and true. Still have a lot of others...somewhere buried in the vaping warehouse.

If you are still considering mods, Provape's Specials page has P2.5 mods at $35. Last forever and the power signal is exactly the same for every puff. But, the P2.5 only goes to 15w. Need about a 1.8ohm coil.

Flavor will be consistent and good.
