I've been primarily using rda's with cotton based wicks for my main source of vaping. Dripping isn't really the best option while out and about and I don't really like DCT's for numerous reasons, so I'd like to get some suggestions on what tank RBA would be the best for using cotton wicks. I like my vape airy but thick, so I'd need to be able to modify the air hole if too small. The RBA's that get the most popularity seem to be the aga t2, rsst, richman, and I'm sure their are more.

Been using modded octopus, bulldog, chimbus clones with SVD,vamo,k100, and omega mods.

Out of curosity why do want to stick with cotton wick ? Have you tryed mesh or ss cable ? I get and have gotten great flavor on my RBA with those. I am not knocking cotton i have not used it. Just wondering if the cotton is that much better or if you hadnt tryed the others.

Glad you asked. I just got back into vaping, it's been about 7-8 weeks. There is a whole new level of equipment and techniques compared to my first failed attempt 2 years ago. I don't have a lot of experience building coils, and I haven't really given mesh a fair chance. I had a small piece of mesh and 30G kanthal, but failed with the little that I had available. I've watched some videos on building with cotton and ran to the local big box store and picked up some gauze and yarn for under $5, came home and modified my RDA's and was instantly blown away. Price really isn't a factor of why I use cotton, it's just leaps and bounds better than what I had. I no longer enjoy vivi's, DCT's, or pretty much anything stock. My realm of equipment hasn't ventured beyond inexpensive clones, IDK but I may be missing more. All in all I'm pretty happy with the taste and vapor production of cotton, but have planed on trying mesh again soon.

Right now I'd say, get a Protank instead.*

*From a frustrated RBA newb trying to shove cotton through the wick hole of an AGA :p

I have a protank, the flavor seems muted and get wicking problems that drive me short of tossing it on the concrete. Either metal taste or dry burn. I've read/watched many of videos on it, IDK why I can't get it running good. I runs good then stops, over and over.

i really like the kayfun. its a bottom coil rba and you dont have to do NR wire like the other bottom coil RBAs. since your in dallas check face book for vape groups and meets. you might be able to find a nice person in your area that will let you try one out. the kayfun is like using a dripper that you dont have to drip on all the time. i rock mine on an SVD at 11w with a 1.4 to 1.7ohm coil. got my 3.1 at SvoëMesto - Rebuildables but they are out of stock right now. "The Russian" and "The Russian 91%" are clones that should be out in the next couple months that are getting really good reviews.

I run cotton wicks and my AGI of course I drilled out the WIC hole about 3 times larger and tappedit with an 8 32 so it has a larger WIC hole and can be converted back to a dripper

Cotton as a dripper and in Genesis mode I just stick the tail of the cotton into the wick hole and tilt to wet. It turns a Genesis atomizer intoa bottom fed cotton dripper

Works swsome

I currently run a RSST with a cotton wick, the nice thing about cotton wicks is that because they expand when saturated with juice you can roll them small enough to feed into a wick hole and through a coil and they will expand to fit once the get saturated. The way I set up the RSST is with a standard 28awg kanthal coil (3-4 wrap at about 1.1 ohms for mechanical) I wrap the coil on a drill bit smaller than the wick hole, slide the drill bit out when it is where I want it. Once the coil is set up I roll some cotton off of a organic cotton ball, the trick is to roll it tapered on one end and leave it fat up top. You want enough length to reach the bottom of your tank once it is fed through the coil and a nice fat head on top to prevent it from dropping through the coil and into the tank. It should be as snug in the coil as you can and still feed it through (gently twisting while you do this helps it feed). When you get it in there wet it with juice and lay the "head" of the wick onto the positive leg of the coil (this turns what can be a "hot leg" into more coil to vape off of) from there fill it up and vape away.

This setup will throw some serious vapor and gives good clean flavor, I have tired mesh, silica and many hybrids of the two and found cotton is the easiest to set up and provides the best flavor.

This is exactly the type reply I was seeking. Thank you, I'm off to buy an RSST. I will be on the hunt for organic cotton balls:toast::toast::toast::toast::toast::toast:
