Best Tank System

I like my little carto tanks but what I'd really like to see is a small pyrex carto tank with stainless steel caps and built in such a way that no rubber comes in contact with the juice, silicone would be ok, but no rubber because it degrades.

Now on the outside of the tank I would like to see a little valley at each end in the stainless steel so that a large o-ring can be added and/or switched out. Why you ask? Well when you lay it down or knock it over it is somewhat protected from breakage and you could switch out the o-rings with different colors.

No chrome, I wouldnt eat off a bumper so why vape on chrome.

I don't have too much issue with flavor with them with a smoktek DTC, other dont work as well and if it is thick juice you can puch another hole.

Protank seem very airy to me, I had been using vivi novas' and before that DCT Smoktech tanks. I just got an Ismoka tank today and honestly I think it gives a better flavor than either the protank or the novas.

My fave is the eRoll. After going through the Kanger Evod and ECab and the 777 Bullet I just like the eroll size and auto battery. If only the tank weren't so small.

The leaking is WHY I rely so heavily on Protank and CE5's when I can't pay attention to how I am setting things down.

There is no reason for a cartotank to leak when laid down on its side. I've had up to 20 cartotanks at one point or another, made from several different manufacturers, and none have leaked period, regardless of position. I can't even guess why your tanks leak. Bad o-rings? Poor-fitting end caps?

I have a boge F17 and the carto literally slides so easily I have to be super carefull with how I set the thing down or the carto will slip that tiny bit out and make a mess.

I'm a Kanger fan. I like the MT3S and the ProTanks are nice too. I'll use Vivi Novas too occaisionally.

I have several clearomizers and a couple of carto tanks. I really love a carto but I also like the ease of clearos. I recently purchased a couple of the new anyvape tanks not to be confused with vape only (which I did not care for) but the anyvape to me produces better flavor than the protank or vivi nova or EVODS and has a great draw, not too airy. I really like them and suspect I will get a few more. For just around $10 for tank and three heads with the performance, you can't beat it. But on the other hand I will be buying a few more carto tanks as well! I like the ones with fill holes.

For "best bang for the buck", super-affordable, no-fiddling tank with decent flavor and vapor, I'd lean toward the BCC Mega (from iSmoka or VapeOnly). It leaves the Vivi Nova in the dust (and I've got half a dozen Vivi Nova's, and used to LOVE them), performs well, looks nice, and comes in two colors for the caps (black or silver) and a BUNCH of different colors for the tanks.

If you are a fiddly person, and dig RBAs, but are looking for something simple and affordable, get one of those new Terminator TT RBAs, and put it in your favorite XL-length carto tank. Awesome flavor, massive vapor, it's an RBA so you can make your own coils, and you can get them for under $10 if you shop around. Even if you put it in a Phiniac or custom IBTanked Carto Tank, you're looking at under $50 total. Not cheap, but this combination will hardly "break the bank" for most vapers.

For "cost is no object" vaping, a Terminator TT or Killer 705 in an AMP Tank (with the XL-length tube). With the Killer/AMP combo, you're looking at nearly $200, but if you use the Terminator TT RBA, and shop around the classifieds, you could put this together for just over $100. Still pricey, but it's got astounding flavor and vapor, and is infinitely adjustable and tweakable, to give you EXACTLY the vape you're looking for. Truly a "Holy Grail" of vaping goodness...

Is there much difference in the quality/performance between the Terminator and the Killer? The Terminator is much easier to attain for folks in the US.

The build quality on the Killer is, of course, much better.

But reports so far are pretty great with regards to the performance of the Terminator. I have 2, LOVE them, and will be ordering 5 or 10 more, so I will never have to buy another carto again...

Not at all.I can turn my Provari completely upside down and my Phiniac wont leak.

The likely culprit is inserting a carto into the tank without using a filler tool or a drip tip the same diameter as the carto. Without one of those the carto will slice off a little bit of rubber or silicon o-ring each time you insert it into a tank and eventually cause the tank to leak or fail.
You can either use a drip tip like this

Or a specialized tank filling tool like this

Either will save some serious wear and tear on your o-rings

You really can't beat a Kanger Pro Tank as your go to tank. I have many others but like this one best.

What kind of tank are you using? The good thing about the ones made here in the good old U.S.A is that the vendors will sometimes send you free or low cost replacement o-rings for them.

That would be my next step.Change those out and let us know if it still leaks.

It is a Boge F17 tank. I will see about changing the orings in the mean time I had a brain fart. I wonder if changing the drip tip to a fatter one would keep it from sliding down into the tank causing the leak. Like I need an excuse to go vape supply shopping

Good idea on the drip tip as well. I use XL cartos on my regular size Phiniacs. The thick delrin cap is really easy to "pop" up and slide up the carto allowing for easy juice refills.

You may not be able to do that with tanks that have thinner glass/ plastic and thinner caps.

The tank itself is one of the long skinny ones so NEEDS the XL carto to begin with. I use the flanged boge XL pre punched cartos with it. The problem is I think that skinny filler drip tip just lets the whole tank slide UP enough to leak from the top. SO maybe a ming or something with some width to it might lock things in place better. I can always swap drip tips to fill it.

The 'fit' of the o-ring is what allows it to slide so easily. IBTanked uses o-rings that are very snug, once they have 'set' for a few minutes the tank will not move. You have to put a decent amount of pressure to the tank to break it loose for refilling. I have carried mine in my pants pocket with no issues and it has never leaked or slid on the carto.

You can replace the o-rings that ride against the carto with some just slightly 'fatter'. I have seen websites that sell food grade but that requires you know the size.
Lowes/Ace/Etc carries standard rubber o-rings, I do not know the grade, but if you take the one you have for comparison you can try to find one just a hair fatter. When you find the size that works you can order 'that' size in a food grade/static use o-ring.
Sounds like a lot of trouble, but once you get the size all you do is order what you need. Good Luck

I prefer a smoktek dct myself. Something about the dual coils create a fuller taste imo. I have a question tho, I was lookin at the AGA-T2 on altsmoke and it says it doesn't come with a wick, so what kind would it take? And do the T2 or RTTS come assembled at all? I wanna try one but at $25/ea I don't wanna get one and never b able to use it cuz I can't put it together. Any tips plz?
