Any other thoughts? I really appreciate the help.
You don't need to spend a lot to get a satisfying vape, If you want better quality equipment thats up to you.

I have a Cuboid & a VTC mini for a long time now, they work pretty good! Are they accurate in TC No! But they work good. If your just going with prebuilt coils & are not really worried about having a really high quality mod. There are lots of choices for really cheap!

I say alien also, I have not used a drop in coil tank in a long time.
Might be worth it in the long run to add a cheap rda (velocity is easy starter) with a bit of ss wire and cotton. Wetting your feet in building coils while vaping your tank will help you in the future.
I started building because I like sweet juice so drop in coils didn't seem to last long. 100 foot of ss can be bought for 15 or less and make a ton of coils versus how much spent on drop in coils.
Long story short don't let building scare you, once you get in the practice you can fully rebuild in 5 minutes, or clean and rewick in a couple.

Hello, All

I hope it is alright to seek some information from the great council of experts and I really do appreciate any feedback you might have to offer. I've been vaping for about a month now and am really really enjoying it. I haven't smoked a cigarette since beginning vaping, feel a LOT better, and actually enjoy vaping more than I did smoking.

The first mod I purchased was a Innokin Cool Fire IV TC 100 w/ Innokin I Sub Tank. I also picked up a Smok V8 Stick w/ Big Baby Beast for "on the go". I really enjoy both mods but recently I've been drawn to the Innokin with SS coils in temperature control mode. I enjoy the consistency of a temperature controlled vape and I find the clouds and flavor to be very similar to a vape in wattage mode. I have a birthday coming up and everyone's been asking me what I want, a good friend works at a vape shop and said he can get me a pretty decent discount on most kits. So, I was thinking, perhaps I could upgrade to a nicer TC set up -- or at least find another nice TC mod so that I can have one at the ready. I was really excited about the Smok Alien with the Big Baby Beast tank but the tank doesn't seem to accept any TC coils. I am not ready to build any coils yet so I am hoping to get some opinions regarding the best tank and mod set up you have found for TC. If it was a starter kit that would be awesome but I can also get the mod and tank separately.

Generally speaking I would like to see some of these features:
- Large ml. capacity tank
- Ability to use coils that will do TC while maintaining higher wattages (~80 watts) -- and ideally SS coils
- Easy availability of coils for replacement/maintenance.

Thanks!!
Add on to my post from above.....Not sure if the ELabo tank has SS coils , check on that but you don't have to get the tank.. you can put any tank up to 28mm on the mod, gives you a lot of options to choose from.

If only they had centered the 510 on that Predator it would have won me right over. The symmetric build with equal handgrip design and nice large face would have been perfect. YiHi did that with their G Class, and the design elements are quite similar. I know that's a completely subjective, personal opinion, but I wish they had.

This might make a lot of people mad but I perfer yihi for TC. I think it's even better than DNA especially when u vape high wattages, ahem I meant Joules (the power used when Yihi is in temperature control).

And a good tank with premade coil Big Baby Beast. Good flavor easy to find coils. And have option for medium to high wattage

MTL premade coils: Spiral Tank by Smok. Oh damn I love this little MtL tank. Very nice and easy filling. Minimal to no leakage.

RTA for you I think: OBS engine 25mm. Virtually leak proof. Get some 316L 26 gauge SS (btw my favorite wire for temp co control). And your good to go!

I perfer SS because you can do Wattage or TC vape. Very versatile. Also I think it's the cleanest tasting wire. Get it from a well reputable shop (Advanced Vape Supply or Lightning Vapes) and you are sure to get very very clean flawless SS wires.

Mod pricey: Yihi Sx Mini Q Mini. Cream of the crop. My favorite mod to date and can go toe to toe with any DNA device 250. Also it has Bluetooth app. I change all my settings on my iPhone and then vape away. It make changes in real time.

Mod affordable: Yihi IPV 8. Awesome cheap mod that many people look over or forgot since a lot of mods came out recently. It does 230 watts on a yihi board. Dual 18650 mod. I like this a lot because the 510 is centered. So all your Attys look very nice!

Good luck and happy vaping!!

My cousin used to think the same thing until I made him plug in my Therion into his computer and bring up E scribe. He was in shock. Said it made the settings in his mod seem like a child's toy compared. But it's all subjective, there is no right or wrong answer.

It doesn't make me mad but I respectfully disagree. For some reason Yihi still uses PFM for TC (rattlesnake effect) instead of the DC-DC they use in Power Mode. I think their mods are great in Power Mode, but the DNA is better for TC.

They are both great chips but I prefer DC-DC for TC so that's why I buy DNA mods for TC (I only use TC). I also think Escribe is superior to the SXi-Q software.

Notes: This is comparing Evolv's lower end chip - The DNA75. IMO the DNA200/250 are superior to the DNA75. The PFM is near the end of the review

Cheers,
Steve

Anyone who has use escribe knows that it's far superior to anything on the market right now. If your just a put batts in and go guy, I can see how some people don't know about DNA being far superior.

Let's all remember he is new to Vaping...let's not overwhelm him, and have him spend 150-200$ on just the mod alone My advice is to get a safe, mod that does great temp control that is affordable.... for the price of some of these (high end)mods he can get a very good mod, a RDA and a RTA for the same price(3 things more bang for your buck)....that way he can learn to build his First coil.....

Wismec Predator $39 (plus batteries)
Geekvape Pearless RDA $25 (almost any coil size will fit in it)
RTAs 30-45$ (many styles to choose from) single or dual coil

As a beginner in Vaping, learning to build your own coils on different atomizers is a fun and valuable lesson to enjoy a great vape that you can learn to customize. Then take it to the next level and refine it with a DNA mod....

But, If you CAN afford get a DNA a RTA and a RDA all at once then go for it..... example, a DNA is like a fully loaded car with ALL the options, do you need them all to drive to work? No, but it sure makes for a smooth enjoyable ride..

My reason would be I have a Wismec Reuleaux (DNA200) and the wiring is very thin and they use a bad 510 connector (like all Joytech mods do).

Cheers,
Steve
All no, that's why I said the New Predator, check out the reviews... it's a new design on the 510...it's corrected any problems... had an RX200 myself with no issues but some people did, true.

Stay away from anything Wismec.
You keep saying that but very many people are perfectly happy with Wismec mods and have had zero problems with them. The Predator 228 has fixed the 510 issues that some have had problems with and the wiring is definitely up to the task. The chip and the firmware is tried and true and Wismec has a good track record of releasing firmware updates that improve their mods. Joyetech/Wismec/Eleaf is the brand I'd primarily suggest for a new vaper currently.

The new Predator 228 has greatly improved on all that though. And my several Wismec rx200 have gone through more than a year of use and abuse without showing any signs of failing (as have my other Joyetech and Eleaf mods). Pretty much the best value for money.

Reason? Plz. It's only good advice if you have a reason that backs your statement.
The title is Best TC Mod/Tank Combo and Wismec is far from best of anything. My opinion is they are garbage for a number of different reasons. Alot of people like them and good for them. I'll tell everyone that asks to stay away from Wismec garbage.

I'm gonna make this super easy for you. Buy a hohmslice. that's all you need
it's 30 bucks on vaporcube.com with code sliceprice for the SE
it does 101 watts on a single 26650 battery. charges fast with 2 amp charging (about 90 mins) and you can buy 4500mah batts which is longer then your coolfire.

plus not only is the temp control top notch for SS (it's one of the top 3 to me with the DNA and YiHi but much cheaper) it's easier to sue then a DNA and cheaper and it'll temp control any wire including the premade kanthal coils you have so no need to but another tank or worry about building. any coil you have for every tank you have can be temp controlled with it. and at 30 bucks that is a steal. I have 3 of them personally (6 total FSK mods) plus the new yihi mod and 4 DNA mods. for price and performance the FSK is hard to beat by any mod

I say the same but people don't like hearing it. My RX300 review is dropping this week and it's gonna get ripped a new one.

IN general wismec products have been pretty poor. the predator looks to be an exception. i have mine on pre order to test as well but so far every wismec i've tried has failed (RX300 and Hedron) i also just got the primo in today so we'll see how it stacks up (wicem/joyetech same company pretty much) the positive is the predator isn't a jaybo design so it could be much better. pretty much anything with jaybo on it isn't good.
