Hey Guys,

I started a thread awhile back discussing the right mod for me and got some awesome assistance. I’ve decided to go with the HohmSlice both because it sits right in my price range and it has so many awesome TC options. However, before I place my order, I need to decide what tank I want to put on the mod. I’m not comfortable building yet, and for the sake of ease of use and time constraints, I want to go with a tank with replaceable atomizers – at least for now.

Now, in my very limited experience with vaping I’ve used two sub ohm tanks, the Innokin I Sub 5 (with my TC100) and the Smok Big Baby Beast (with my V8 Stick). Both tanks work well but I find myself gravitating much more heavily toward the BBB. I really enjoy the airflow on the Smok tank, which when left most the way open allows me to get a lot of vapor into my lungs quickly. With the I Sub tank I find myself inhaling for a longer period of time and still not getting the vapor production I’d like. I think more than anything it’s the nice open air flow and the ability to get massive vapor production that puts the Smok ahead for me. That said, I do notice less flavor with the BBB but don’t mind the tradeoff and have found closing down the air flow fixes the issue.

So, I’m in a bit of a quandary. It would seem the logical thing to do would be to buy a BBB and stick it on the HohmSlice – and since the HohmSlice is capable of TC with kanthal I could hypothetically use any of the Smok Baby Beast coils. That said, it would seem to me that having access to prebuilt SS coils, like I use in my I Sub, might be a better option. Generally the consensus seems to be that SS works much better in TC mode than Kanthal and many SS coils are built specifically for TC mode. As Smok isn’t offering any temp. control coils on the BBB I’m wondering if there is a similar tank, in terms of the things I’m looking for (big airflow, vapor production), that has stock SS coils and offers a similar vaping experience. I’ve heard the Tobecco Super Tank / Super Tank Mini discussed a few times as they can use the Tobeco SS Notch coils but I’m not sure how that would compare to the Smok Big Baby Beast.

I guess the short question is, BBB on my new HohmSlice? If not, what would you suggest?

I generally vape at around 400* with the ramp wattage set in the 40-60 range.

Thanks!!

Honestly? Learn to build or at least install SS Coils into the BBB RBA. You'll get the air you want, and the TC vape you're after as well as opening up a lot of new avenues...

I appreciate the response and value your opinion. That said, I am really interested in hearing about pre built coil options at this time. I understand I am giving up performance but would prefer to do so, at this point, for the sake of convenience. Again though, thanks for taking the time to respond.

For prebuilt SS coils - and you're not gonna like this either - the iSubs and the Atlantis coils are your best bets. Neither of those will compare with the BBB, however... When I say Atlantis, I am refering to all those that dit the Atlantis such as the Eleaf and Super Tank. Kanger also makes a SS316L coil head, as does Cloupor. Another tank I have not tries, but hear good things about, is the Clieto. Tesla Shadow tanks also use SS316L, but those coils are not going to be as easy to find as the tanks are not as popular or versatile as the others...

That's where I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with particular tanks that will take the Atlantis coils. I think finding a tank with a similar air flow to the Big Baby Beast is probably my best bet, the I Sub tanks are definitely much more restricted from an airflow perspective. I thought I recalled hearing the Tobeco Super Tanks had pretty good airflow but I'm not positive. Anyone had any experience with the Kanger or E Leaf tanks?

A great Sub Obm Tank with SS Coils is the Kangertech Pangu which was the 1st Sub Ohm I had that delivered the smooth cool vape I was searching for. But now I have many more like the Rafale which I think is awesome in direct conflict with reviews. There are just so many to pick from the list is endless almost.

I use a Super tank, both the SS Tobeco notch coils, and the Vaporesso EUC SS ceramics. Excellent airflow with the notch and good TC performance. EUC is nice with a clean flavor, but far less airflow. I've also used some Atlantis coils, and have a few Triton 1.8 coils for when I want to use it in stealth vape mode. I also have a BB and BBB, and in comparison the air can be better with Smok, depending on which of the two dozen varieties of coils you choose. however, the Tobeco gives it very good run for the money, is far more flexible without resorting to an RBA, and an excellent selection if you want SS prebuilt SS coils as options.

I have the Smok G-Priv, great vaporizer with the Big Baby Beast, great flavor and vapor. Next I bought another BBB tank and I use it with the RBA deck that comes with it, it also comes with another glass portion which is longer and needed to use the RBA deck. Clapton SS coils are included and it's easy to wick. Also you get another atomizer.

Here are some coils that work well with SS TC (even with lesser mods) and have fantastic flavor.

Triton 0.4 Ohm SS coils - Atlantis form-factor (TCR between 0.00066 and 0.00080 depending on mod - whatever that is on HT)

Crown 1 and Crown 2 0.5 Ohm SS coils - (TCR between 0.00090 and 0.00115) not quite the flow of the BBB but close, bigger than Atlantis-type tanks.

In terms of flavor, these are hard to beat for pre-built coil heads. As others have mentioned, building on the BBB RBA is a good option.

To that- does anybody know of good pre-made coils for the RBA? Like an SS version of what it comes with? Or notch coils that can bolt in? Those would be nice intermediate steps between factory coil heads and actual rebuilding.
