I've never done any DIY before. I had to try a lot of online vendors of pre-made juice before I settled. I'm trying to skip that step.
I'm looking for quality nic, VG and flavorings.
I'd be interested in any literature you'd care to toss my way too.
I didn't know the FDA was trying to kill the industry till about a week ago when I started lurking here so I have some catching up to do.

I'd be really interested in your favorite recipes too. There are so many recipes out there, I'm having a hard time picking one for a first run. I love custards and cakes.
Thanks. I wish I had joined months ago.

I'd like to add that there are many vendors listed in the stickies but I'm looking for high quality nic at a good price. I'm not sure where to start.

Quality ratings are very subjective to what the poster has tried.

I have not tried MFS, Nude Nicotine, Nicotine River. I would not recommend Wizard Labs. VapersTek premium nicotine is good for the price. I don't see 100mg/ml currently available though.

By far the best nicotine I have vaped is Carolina Xtractions. Leaps and bounds better than anything else on the market. It hits very smooth (some folks like more throat kick). The psychoactive nature is pleasant and jitter free. Comparatively, it is expensive. But, vaping 60mg a day still only comes out to about $40 per year. At that price, It's well worth it to me. 10% Discount Code: Dada1

Wizard Labs (Wizard Labs) is my favorite.

Recipes: Before I place a DIY flavor order, I order only those flavors I will need to make 3 or more recipes, then I order all the flavors for those recipes. After I receive the flavors I test them as standalone single flavors. These tests are important because they will give a feel for taste and strength (note taking is a must for me) , not necessarily if they taste good, but more on how they might interact in a mix. I find that very few single/standalone flavors can be used by themselves.

you may also want to do some reading before buying anything.

You have some time before the regs catch up to the point where it's critical to stock up. So Research NIC venders, Buy small samples from several and sample them and decide which is right for you. Then you'll be ready to stock up with bigger quantities. As people have different tastes it's hard to go on reviews alone and only you can be the judge of whats good and bad.

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

Then read hoosier's blogs. These blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives.

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine bases regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

I can't/won't comment on or rate nicotine or flavoring providers that I haven't personally tried. So my recommendations are based upon actually trying the following:

Nude Nicotine - Excellent, very smooth, not peppery at all IMO. Price is fairly high compared to others.

Wizard Labs nicotine - Very good, very smooth, with only a very faint peppery hint. Middle of the road in price.

My Freedom Smokes Nicotine - Good, but it was the most peppery of the 3 I tried. Also, when I ordered a liter of it...it was short by 170+ mL! IMO it would also be best suited for tobacco eliquid recipes. It's lower priced than the other 2 above.

For flavorings, I order about 95% of them from Wizard Labs because of their variety offered, their low prices, their super care taken in shipment, and wonderful customer service. My other favorite place is OSDIY Shop for their one Shot Blends and One Shot Flavors. Their prices are good, customer service is great, and their Lucky Shot and Baked Cinnamon Roll are both terrific!!

I have tried the same three suppliers and came to the same conclusions you did. I don't mind the peppery hint in Wizard Labs nic, but MFS was a bit too much for me. I vape 24 mg/ml, so I imagine it's much more pronounced for me than for most!

I also like Wizard Labs for flavoring. Great variety, all in glass, and never had a broken bottle in 4 years of ordering. I am planning to try OSDIY for a change, some of those one shot blends look yummy!

I put together a list on ecigexpress. I considered many of the nic vendors posted but I'm trying to get everything from one place for my first run. I'll sample some nic vendors next payday.

I'll be making:
French Silk Cake Batter
Strawberry Shortcake
Unicorn Milk (clone)
Tigers Blood

I got all the flavors in the ratios they call for. I should have enough to do 200ml of each one.

1 litre of VG
120ml of the house VG/32mg nic...I plan on trying some others. I only vape 3mg now and plan on going lighter.
6 3ml syringes (one for each flavor of Unicorn Milk)
1 10ml syringe for nic only
1 60ml syringe for VG
10ml of EM and sucralose
10ml of MTS
10 15ml glass bottles for steeping my trials in the crock pot.

It all comes in at under $100 which is my usual juice allowance.

I like max VG with light flavoring and nic for smooth, dense clouds. I think I'll be able to cut most recipes in half.

I did quite a bit of reading and I'm pretty confident in my first runs.
Thanks for the replies.

I'm looking for a Fruity COPYRIGHTDMCA recipe. I have some Ban Hammer from Mech Sause and it is the only juice I've tried that tastes exactly like the cereal.
Any thoughts?

I order from Wizard Labs. Haven't tried anywhere else because everything about this vendor has been completely satisfactory to me.

And listen to this guy! He's like a DIY god. He gave me some extremely valuable resources when I was just starting out.

Suprised no one has said Bull City, for flavors, They are my Favorite, EcigExpress would be second. I hear Gremlin is good but have not tried them. My order from wizard labs I was not impressed with, they ship small sizes in glass vials and my order had a few broken ones, they did however replace them but it was a mess, plus I like dropper bottles better. If you want larger bottles go with Nicotine River, they are great but shipping can get costly. before you order you can check for discount codes on e-liquid recipes.com go to resources on the top of the page and it will give you active codes for many vendors. For Nicotine I have tried a few, I only buy 100mg 50/50. and use it at 3 to 6%. most of the pricier nic has been good but not worth the wait or price. I have been happy with Heartland, and MFS, for the most part, I could see MFS getting peppery if you use it at higher% but at 3% I dont taste it.Carolina Extracts has been on my radar and I will purchase my next order from them based on positive feedback.
