Here's a chart to illustrate what ejoker's talking about.

I've only been
vaping for six weeks. I was noticing a huge difference between the devices I was trying out. The plain 510 was lacking most of the time. My eGo tasted pretty good with most flavors. I bought a non-battery pass-thru that puts out a constant 5.1 volts and while it made a lot of vapor it killed most of the flavor. What seemed odd was the pass-thru I bought for my car (the cheap kind with a battery box) by far produced the best combination of flavor, throat-hit, and vapor.
I got curious and got out the multi-meter and found the PT with the battery box was producing 4.3 volts. At first I didn't think 3.7 to 4.3 to 5 volts would make all that much difference. But it does!
I'm still waiting for my Buzz (it's in the mail, WooHoo!).
I really look forward to adjusting things to my taste. I plan on adjusting where I like it best and then measuring, instead of setting a specific voltage and then comparing.
So far, with my fixed voltage devices, I have noticed that I like lighter flavors (
tobacco and Mtn Dew) at lower wattages [low 6 watts] and thick, heavy flavors (german choc and other desert flavors like english toffee) at a higher wattage [mid 7's].
But I expect my taste to drive my settings, not the other way around. The chart is not my idea - I copied it from others here on ECF...
